Expressive Animations is a new animation mod that aims to breath life into the jump tricks and web releases of Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered whilst also introducing a new mechanic: Web Dash!
The animations selection of jump tricks and web releases is inspired heavily by the swinging style of Andrew Garfield in TASM2. As such, the animations selected convey a sense of athleticism while not being too "floppy" as is common when directly exchanging animations between Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. As such, the animations were actually taken from trick outros, jumps and dodges which were then placed into jump release and web swing release animations.

  • That web dash is genius. I always loved the dive bomb move, but didn’t like that you could only get upwards momentum from it. This allows you to get more forward momentum out of a swing, and I really hope Insomniac adds this in Spider-Man 2.

  • What I love about this mod is how it takes the pendulum physics into account, you can see Spidey swaying side to side while holding the webline. Other than the animations, which look great, BTW. Great work! Downloading now.

    • I agree. My biggest gripe with the game was that there wasnt as much sense of momentum as I would've liked. I love that this mod plays around with how your momentum affects the way Spidey moves

    • I think that one thing that I've seen in these Swinging mods is that the web. He's not holding the very end of it. Looks a little glitchy

  • I wonder why no one has even tried to make a TASM films web swing animations, they had by far the best web swinging ever depicted in a moving spider-man content besides Spider-Man 2 PS2. And im glad that it loos like we're getting closer to the glorious Turbo-Bind mod, to boost your speed while swinging, like when you pressed L2 in Spider-Man 2 PS2, it's so close i can feel it.

  • You know I'm playing through every spider-man game from the last 22 years on my other channel thepocketmonsterwithin and now it feels like when I DO get to Insomniac's games will it even be worth it? The modding community has changed and improved this game so much in such a short amount of time, it's like playing base Skyrim now. It's incredible what you guys have all been able to do.

  • Yo this was dope... feel like he can use a 360 wall quick turn to crawl quickly in the other directions it feels slow at times. A wall jump regularly with out the combat there's times when you hop on the wall you feel glued to it especially while trying to dodge attacks. I know you can't just simply put that in the game but I hope insomniac does something like that. Good work though
