Restoration of the Pulp Fiction Gold-Watch | WW1 Military Trench Watch Lancet

2022 ж. 14 Сәу.

This time I´m restoring a World War 1 Military Trench Watch made by Lancet.
The watch become famous as Butch Coolidge (played by Bruce Willis) worn it in the movie "Pulp Fiction".
This watch is powered by the Adolph Michel 220 hand-wind-movement. Dial and hands are painted with radioactive radium to let it glow in the dark.
This watch is in a really bad condition. The gold-case has tarnished and is heavily scratched, one of the case-lugs is broken, the glass and the sub-second hand is missing, the hour- and minute-hand is corroded and the movement doesn´t work.
I need to make a new lug and solder it on the case with some silver-solder.
After sanding and polishing the case, the bezel is ready for a new gold-plating.
I´m removing the radioactive radium of the dial and the hands, after re-bluing the hands i can add some new non-radioactive luminous-color to them.
I need to replace some parts of the movement to make it running again.
After everything is cleaned, polished and re-plated, I can re-assemble the movement with some fresh oil. After that, this watch is in a fantastic beat (+2 seconds per day) again.
I hope you liked this restoration, if so, like, comment and subscribe ;)

    • You can make the hair line cracks on the dial disappear with some Comet Ultra Bathroom cleaner and some water. Let it sit in a cup for a while or place it on your refrigerator. The low vibrations will losen up the grime in the cracks and you can wash the dirt away
