In this video, I will be using my Philips Norelco multigroom 3000 to show you guys an example of what the beard looks like from a 16 mm length beard all the way down to a 1 mm length stuble look.
I will also compare the equivalent of these guards to hair clipper guards just in case you don't have a beard trimmer. Enjoy!
Side note, 3 mm is probably best for that designer stuble look.

Hello I just bought this clipper off Amazon, I am waiting for it to arrive but many of the reviews said it craps out after a couple of months / turns on by its self etc… how has this trimmer treated you?
I've had it for over 3 years and everything is still working just fine 👍🏼
Thanks bro I needed to visually see what 12mm, 9mm, 6mm, and 3mm looked like and now I have an idea. Thanks a lot
I'm glad this video has helped!
@@LanDope is there a 2mm ?
Not on this trimmer
Me too bro
@@sahilinamdar4097 yes, between my legs
RIP to those guys 5 months ago when this video didn't exist. Been looking for this for a while. Appreciate the time you took making I man.
Hey thanks for taking your time to watch!
big facts tried to shape up my beard thinking I didnt need a guard and had to chop it all off. This video is perfect!
This video taught me more about what guards to use when using a beard trimmer (rather than hair clippers) than any Beardbrand video ever did. Good work, fella. Exactly what was needed.
This was amazing to read, especially since they're the top beard guys on youtube! Thank you man!
@@LanDope can I get 1mm and 2 mm comb in the market for my trimmer actually I have lost the comb.
I think it is best to check the Philips website to see if they sell replacement combs
Excellent video, good to see before you do it, I recently started wearing 6mm from years of a full beard, I then went 3mm and hated it but it grew back in days fortunately, well done.
Cheers bro, been waiting for a video like this for ages.
Your progress has been amazing!!!!!
Perfect video for this first time face warmer owner after a successful no shave november run! Now looking for uniform length and this gave me a good idea! Thank you!
Really found that video helpful as I have just purchased a Phillips 7000 Multigroom trimmer. Great to see the difference as I have never grown a beard. I am 76 years old and have just not shaved for about 6 weeks due to lockdown. I have now looked at many videos. I always thought a beard was just not shaving!! Wow - it's an art form.
Lol yes keeping the beard nice and well groomed is much needed. Thanks for watching!
Amazing, I was imagining how my beard would be at each size, thank you for help
This is what I have been wanting before buying a trimmer. Now I know what those sizes actually do. Thanks mate 🤘
Glad it helped. Thank you for watching!
I got the same product today and just searched how to use it, and luckily your videos comes up. Thanks
So far you are the only person to have made a video like this. Someone needs to demonstrate different lengths for hairy chests.
Exactly the type of video i was looking for! This vid will definitely help me while i wait for all my beard hair follicles to finally mature! My fav is definitely 5 and 3
5 mm is always a good look!
You got the best video. I was looking for something like this! Awesome job
Just bought a trimmer with clippers on it. Thanks man for this guidance.
I think your ideas for every video (post minox) are really smart and useful. Keep it up!
Thank you so much! This comment means a lot because trying to think of new ideas can be a bit of a challenge since i'm sure most of my subscribers subbed for a minox update in the first place
@@LanDope In context, now that we are in a lockdown (spain) your tips about hair trimming where really usefull 🤣. But this video about beard lenght helps to ease the fear about shaping it. I'm looking forward your next video!
You explained this better than the barber & they cut hair for a living Thanks!
Just the video I was looking for. You da man!
Just got a beard trimmer and was hoping to find a video just like this one. Thank you!
Trimming your beard was the video I seen so far on KZhead, I started growing mine about four weeks ago need to trim it now, I like the #2 that you did maybe I’ll go with that.
Awesome to hear! Thank youb for watching
This is really helpful thank you! I'm trimming my beard for the first time after 11 weeks of growth tomorrow so was great to get an idea of what length to go
Nice! Glad this video helped you get an idea of what it will look like
Which length did you go for?
@@TLSA_ my beard was around 15mm and i took it down to 9mm and honestly it looks more professional and clean, before that i had so many stray hairs coming out from my cheeks and thin it looked like an ISIS type of beard
@@DominicsFilms oh thats nice to hear, I had the same length and did 9mm aswell, it looks indeed better then it was, thanks👍
Sorry just seen your comment! I went for lots of lengths but I've settled on 7mm, my beard is quite patchy so going for a short and neat length has really worked well. Glad you've found a good length too!
Thank you very much 😊 I was looking for this type of demo from a long time . Now I can buy the best trimmer according to my preference.
I am glad to hear this was helpful!
I just search from long to short I was going to do one way back but didn’t have all the clipper size
Also here’s video for hair invade you need it kzhead.info/sun/Zc2fZJh6fmWrf5s/bejne.html
I almost fucked up, buyed a trimmer with only 1 to 5mm lenght, I just canceled and going for a 1 to 10mm one, nice video very helpful
I want to thank you for creating this video. I wanted to see how 5mm looks like as I am planning to buy a trimmer which only has three trim numbers 1,5 & 7. Thanks a lot. God bless you.
Thanks bro. Really wanted to k kw what these lengths look like before I trimmed mine 👍🏽😬
My Norelco it's coming and this video was helpful to know which length I'm using when it arrives, thank you!
Nice! Thanks for watching
please make a vid on 1. shaping neck line to make jaw look sharp 2. cheek area shape up and how to identify the shape if you dont really have a natural shape.
Thank you man! Thanks to you i've learned a lot about taking care of myself lol
Awesome to know man! Reading comments like this let me know people enjoy it and make me feel good that you guys are using my tips. Much love brother!
@@LanDope Lol not only am I using your tips, I'm following along, I got the same trimmer and everything lol
Great vid mate! Keep it up
This was perfect, I have a wahl beard trimmer and the colors really helped
This video is such a life/ time saver
Glad it helped!
Nice vid. I've been messing around seeing if I can go from 10 to 16 or 18 and surprised how hard it is to just find clear cut examples online until this vid
Glad this helped!
Best video I found for a comparison. Thx for that ✌
Glad it helped!
Thanks dude! This is such a big help! Subbed
Glad it helped! And thanks for subbing
Bro I saw you on a vid from 7 months ago with urban. I already have a “beard” I guess but you really inspired me to start using minoxidil bcuz my under lip is super thin and my stache connects pretty weak to my chin. If I can get the same results as you in those spots I’d be stoked!! Wish me luck, much love.🙏
Good luck man!
Thanks, I didn't find this type of video in Portuguese, very enlightening . Brasil !
Thank you for watching brother!
Needed this video. Thank you!!
Hey, thanks for doing this. A perfect demonstration. Well presented.
Hey thank you for watching!
Thank you. I started growing my pandemic beard on March 13 since I have been on permanent lock down. Now I look like the homeless guy outside of the 7-11. I am thinking I need to trim my beard so I don't scare the neighbors. Your instructions help so I won't mess it up. Now if you could do a video on trimming the hair on my head, that would also be much appreciated.
Lol! I'm glad this video was able to help out. I do have a few haircut videos on my channel of you wan't to check them out. Only thing is I use clippers only
3mm looks bad ass on you. I stick with 5mm, just because any lower than that becomes stubble, rather than a beard. Good video.
A no bullshit beard video...straight to point...awesome!!
Yup! And thanks for watching
Quick and to the point! Appreciate it.
I got the same trimmer. Works pretty good
Thank you for using yourself as a perfect example
Thank you for watching!
Thank you!! Amazing video. i´ve just purcheased that same trimmer!!
Nice! Glad you enjoyed
I see some I'm a number 12 type of chad. Thanks man really needed this lol
Haha Chad! I love it lol. Glad you enjoyed
Thanks brother. I appreciate your effort 😌❤️
Thanks buddy for this. Needed to see the difference.
Thank you for giving me my first sucsessful beard trim
Glad to hear that!
Just the video I was looking for cheers
This is sooo useful now i know i want a 5mm beard
Its the first time I am going to clip my beard... I am sooo nervous that I don't mess it up!! Your video was a great help to see the different lengths.. thanks you. Wish me luck lol.
Good luck man! Lol
Really helpful video, as idiot me didn't even know how to use this tool properly.
Appreciate the video. Helps a lot. Thank you!
Thanks,Now I know the 3 mm is the look I’m going for.
Thank's for your video now I know the different length of beard🙃from France🇨🇵
Thanks, very informative. You look good on 3mm.
hey quick question, At what increments does it go from a 1mm to a 3mm?
What do you mean?
I was confused that i should use the black combs for beard cause it starts from 9mm. So now the doubt is clear i am perfect with 12mm
Thanks brother it's so helpful for newbies like me :)
Glad it helped!
Excellent video. Like many others here have said, I too needed to see the different lengths. Started to trim my own beard but not great at it. Do I shave up or down when trimming my beard. Against the grain or with?
Personally, I go up against the grain. Going down is fine as well but I believe it will leave the hair a little longer.
I just want to say thanks bro you got right to it and no Bsing around
Thanks man 👍 and thanks for watching
quality content bro!
Thanks for watching man!
thanks man! i was wondering if you had a link somewhere to buy these trimmers as well?
I got mine at Walmart. Or you can look up Philips Norelco Multigroom 3000
Thanks bro ! Helped much !
Thank you bro i really need these tips
Bro can i buy wahl clipper guide combs for my remington clipper or they won't fit?
I do my beard with the 3mm setting too, just right.
What if i trim downwards with the grain?
Actually helpful and interesting, thank you.
Glad you found it useful!
God damn I love this, exactly the video I was looking for think ima go for the 5 mm
Thanks a lot bro to show us practically
This helps, but really don't know what to go for
Nice and informative video bro
Thank you bro for explaining of trimmer Clio sizes
Thank you for watching 👍
@@LanDope welcome bro
I had the 1mm subtle beard for some years already and now growing a little longer to 3mm and I will probably try 5 or 6mm. But I found that the longer my beard grows the sparse or “patchy” certain zones of my face looks, especially on jaws or chicks. My chin and mustaches are pretty full but with longer beard they seems to pop up since they are fuller than my chicks. Better to trim down to 3mm or let it grow regardless?
I think the only real answer is to try it and see how you. Whatever you feel kost confident in or you looks the best on you is what should be done
Thanks for the demo buddy
Thanks for watching
Thanks for this, so useful!
Hey glad it helped!
Thanx a lot bro in search for this since long time
Glad you enjoyed!
I am one of those who grows a little bit of a patchy beard and and have been trying to look at videos with using a mascara pencil to help fill in spots, and was wondering if you have any experience with that? I wish I could grow a beard like yours.
Have you heard about minoxidil aka Rogane? That's what I used to grow my beard. My beard was patchy before that. Just look into it, not guaranteed to five you a full beard, bur if you have the genetics for it, then it quite possibly could five you a full beard
Brilliant review Thank you 🙏
Very useful! Thanks man! 😊
It is realy me THANK YOU SO MUCH BRO👏👏👌👌👌👌🤝🤝❤❤
Hey there! How and where did you get more beard guards? I just bought a Philips Norelco Multigroom 3000 (As you are using on your video), and I got only 3 beard guards...
Really?? Mine came with all these guards in the package
I don’t know if you’ll see this but you did get the same pieces. He was using what the package called “hair guards”. The 3 grey pieces are supposed to be for beards and the 3 black pieces are for hair.
@@cyberrising7884 Thanks Man! You are right! My bad… Thank you!
Thank you for this heplfull video.
You really helped man💯
Glad it helped 👍
Thank you! That was very helpful!
Glad it helped!
I just started trimming the beard today. And I used a 5 mm and it was good. But it was a bit shorter than I thought. But I guess the higher the millimeter, the shorter or the higher the millimeter, the less hair it will cut.
This video was very hopeful my bro has the same trimmer I used the 9mm and it's worked out for me very well great fade
Nice glad to hear that!
Do you use 9 all around? For the fade
@@HakZG just the beard area
@@thewickednetwork7667 ok got it, I’ve just done a 9 all around and left my moustache bit, and it honestly looks good, the side I done a 5mm fade
@@HakZG nice I'm look into it as well thanks for the tip.

Thank you and thank you for watching brother 👌🏼
Hey man I've been using minoxidail for a couple of months now and I'm mostly growing hairs on my neck. I want to trim it but I wanted to ask does it slow down the growth process while using the product? And also should I trim up or down?
Neck hair can be really itchy and annoying, go ahead and trim! Personally I trimmed and shaved plenty of times and obviously I kept my beard in the end. One thing I will say though is sometimes my beard did grow back somewhat patchy after shaving but those parts eventually grew back within a few weeks. My theory on that is those were hairs getting ready to shed anyway. Some people would say go against the grain, but I shaved in every direction
So I’ve been trying to grow a beard for about 2 months now. First time trying, the moustache is going well and is thickening up nicely and I’ve had to trim the ends once as they were too long. As for the beard itself, the length is there but there is barely any thickness. Also I can see a lot of vellus hairs that if they mature would look like a good beard. My question is should I trim to a set length every 4 weeks or so to allow the vellus hairs to mature and catch up then grow length afterwards.
Yes that would be a great thing to try. I have to trim my beard down after a few weeks of shaving to let my mustache catch up
@@LanDope Okay will do, thanks for the reply!
Helped a lot brother
Good video, by the way the 3 mm to 5 mm range of stubble looks best on you.
One question sir that I already have baby hairs above my cheek bones using minoxidil will it be matured because it looks weird.please answer me sir.
I had the same thing when I started, I suggest foam if you can buy that because liquid gave me more unwanted hair than foam did.
Thanks sir
Thank you... this was really useful
