  • RESPECT! I just started watching this channel a week or two ago, I love it! Just saw this video today and dang! With such an awesome beard, I know it had to have been hard to shave such a solid beard, that took a long time to grow. The fact that you did, to show us viewers from start to finish, is huge respect in my book! I love it!

  • Always shaved neck line too high till I first saw your videos last year. . .now have 9 months growth trimming the correct way because of you (treat it like trimming a hedge). . .gives me more confidence and looks great. . .even i I say myself! When you get a comment from someone saying 'great beard' makes you feel great. Thanx bro.

    • My neck hair grows upwards, under my chin and my cheeks grow normal (downwards) but when my beard starts getting length they meet and push out. It makes the neckline awkward, literally had to cut off nearly a 2 year beard because I messed up trying to fix this. My beards back to an ok length but I haven't shaped it one bit because I start to sweat when I attempt the neckline ha. I felt so naked when I had to completely shave off my beard an start all over

  • I don't do a neckline anymore, because my beard is very long. But when I did, a better way to trim that neckline (in my opinion and in my experience) is to give yourself a double-chin by pulling your chin into your neck. Where you see the line from the double-chin where the bottom skin of the double-chin ends, that's your line. It's more precise that way, as opposed to sort of guessing like in this video. If you have a natural double-chin, because you are fat, then you're all set.

    @Jim_L@Jim_L2 жыл бұрын
    • @@benjamindavis4974 Unfortunately, you're wrong on this. The "double-chin" technique works like a charm. There's no guess work involved. You easily see the line where the double-chin ends, and that's where you put the shaving cream and shave. Easy-peasy.

      @Jim_L@Jim_L2 жыл бұрын
    • @@benjamindavis4974 Hey, at the end of the day, if that's what you like, then that's really all that counts. I mean, truthfully, there's no real right way. There are no legal documents on any of this. 😀

      @Jim_L@Jim_L2 жыл бұрын

  • I've been trimming my beard like that for over 50 years now. And you're absolutely right! If you get the lines "right" in the early stages of growing, it'll make your beard grow in very nicely! And it doesn't matter what kind of "look" you're wanting, scruffy, neat, full, go tee, handlebar mustache, or whatever, get those lines right in the early stages and it'll grow in and look great!

But my beard is growing very fast, cut myself clean April 8th, now, two weeks later, it's already growing thick everywhere and also below my adams apple, it's not the first time i'm growing it but i always outlined it around the 1.5-2 week mark because that's how fast my beard grows, always thought i was in the wrong for lining it so fast.

  • When trimming the neck, is it straight trim horizontally or curve it towards the ear?

    @elrobzee8328@elrobzee8328 Жыл бұрын
    • Personally, I'd recommend following your jawline with more of a curve so it looks a bit more natural. Once it's longer though, if you prefer more of a squared look then the horizontal trim can work too!

  • What to do with the cheek line if your moustache is not connected to the beard?

    @vonvetur@vonvetur4 ай бұрын
    • A lot of guys will still draw the line to the top of the stache, even if there is a little space there. You can also trim the cheek line a little lower to where it does connect. Also, growing the beard and stache longer will usually cover up that gap!

    • trimming your own beard can definitely be a bit daunting! Less is more when doing trims. My father always told me growing up, you want to shape the neckline along the same line that you would slit someones throat 😂 as graphic as that may sound, it helps. You want the line to be right above the adams apple and keep an even swoop going up both sides to the ear!
