    • The refs did all they could to help A$M win, but the Coogs were simply that much better than the Ags and able to overcome the refs' bad calls! The entire "come back" by the Ags was helped by the refs! They planned to call a jump ball before a Coog could even take possession of the rebound! No way A$M would be able to overcome such a large deficit in points to the Coogs with a little bit of time left on the game without the refs' help! A$M shot 45 free throws, that is a lot of free throws for a losing team! The refs kicked 4 Coogs out of the game with their foul calls!

Guy’s barreling to the basket for an easy 2 and maybe an and-1 (with these refs you have to assume they were getting it) to cut the lead to 1. But instead he calls a timeout to set up a terrible contested 3, game over.

I wish they would just play their normal offense. It's fine to take the shot later but at least move the ball around first and see if you can get some easy high percentage shots.

  • Shooting a 3 with 4.2 seconds left and then having the ref call a jumpball with 1.2 seconds left might be the craziest call in the history of basketball. Get the ref investigated. There WAS a play THIS game that took 10 seconds because players were tugging the ball on the ground with no jump ball.

    • That was definitely a foul. Also the foul was before the shot. This might be part of your issue in seeing it.

    • @@astrosfanhou25629:52 wasn't a foul you are entitled to your space. Shead wasn't pushed, he released. 14:52 was questionable, but they called a similar foul in regulation against a&m that I also thought was questionable at the time, so at least they were consistent.

    • @@kdog2646 Maybe you’re right, I’m not up on the modern rules, but I was watching him all the way from the top of the key on in. He was touching the guy as they were running along, but in my mind that’s not a foul, at least, as I always played it and as it was taught to me and as I watched for decades. Pushing someone and impeding their progress is a foul, but I never saw any pressure being applied, and I never saw any interfering with the guy’s movement here, he was just tracking along with him. As I say, the rules may have changed so that you can’t actually touch someone on the hip anymore when they’re driving to the basket, I don’t know.

      @DanielBarberMusic@DanielBarberMusicАй бұрын
    • @@kdog2646 Shead was not allowed his space to work. Defender clearly used his body to slow him down. Foul for sure. Especially when compared to to other “fouls” on Houston called by the same ref for much less and very debatable whether there was contact. My point here is that those calls were not going both ways. It’s quit obviously clear in those examples.

    • Backboard said about 0.7-0.8 seconds when he got the shot off. I'd say it was more like 0.4-0.5 seconds left from the time the ball was first touched to when the shot was gotten off. TIme keepers usually start the clock when a player has possesion (when it should be when the ball is first touched).
