  • People expect Ginny to self regulate her emotions while being raised by an adult who doesn’t know how to self regulate her emotions. I love how the representation for therapy especially for black/mixed race people and the fact Ginny as a biracial girl has a biracial female therapist. It also highlights that though Georgia did struggle at the the day of she is still a privileged white woman

    • I really find it odd how "privileged" has become some kind of negative thing that one should be ashamed for especially when that person is white. Everyone enjoys their own privileges and every race has some sort of privileges one way or another.

For Ginny we have seen that being biracial causes her to feel like an outcast , she has been targeted by a teacher, etc. Georgia's life is not perfect, but none of her struggles are due to her being white, so in that sense, she has white privilege. It's not something she can change, however, she does not seem to try to understand her daughter's struggles related to race, which is a problem.

  • I really hate how much people glorify Georgia and demonize Ginny. Ginny isn't a being of pure evil and spite, sent to ruin Georgia. Ginny grew up having to worry about bills, food and housing. Ginny had a young mother who couldn't self regulate, and most likely hurt Ginny on accident. She had an unstable bond with her father, who she obviously didn't see that often. Georgia did her best, absolutely she did. She loves Ginny, her children are her whole world. She literally killed for Ginny, and she'd do more for her baby. Georgia is Ginny's momma, and she loves having that pleasure. But doing your best isn't always enough. Sometimes your best is bad, or just ok. And, sometimes, people aren't content with your best. Some people need more than your best. Ginny needs more than Georgia's best. And it's neither of their faults. Its not Ginny's fault for having a rough childhood, or stunted emotional growth. Its not Georgia's fault for falling short, or being immature when she shouldn't be. Both Ginny and Georgia need help. They're human, and I wish people saw that a bit more.

Like since when was he some woke guy, like not about his depression but when we were saying Thanksgiving was a government lie or whatever. Other than that still sucks that Abby didn't tell anyone about how she puts tapes on her legs and the whole thing with Preston was very uhm interesting. I have no idea why Samatha was hanging with "M" and "N" it was weird having her there. Other than that really liked this season and Ginny is growing on me. Still Georiga supremacy :D

    • It feels like they used Georgia as a plot device for Ginny this season. So they make her do things that to me seem out of character like throwing away all the food in the house, not attempting to manipulate her ex abuser back into jail, and then making her an “obvious outsider” when it came to Ginny and race. When Ginny went to therapy with Georgia and constantly complained about her not understanding her emotions but instead they keyed in on race??? It was just so off base to me especially since her mom was one of the only people ready to fight for any racial issue Ginny was faced with. Next, to me if someone came and told me that my momma has done some things and he’s a private investigator, i would’ve left it ALONE. The police didnt catch her, and i dont know what she did so why would I get involved? Its just so weird how ginny acts and has little to no reasoning behind it besides lacking an ounce of empathy. Oh yeah and the needless death of a random guy that georgia commits. Which completely degrades her entire moral code of sting first. Mercy killing top help someone you’re beefing with ??? Crazy. I did like the emotional developments this season because Marcus’ emotions and actions resonated with me in ways I’ve felt in the past. I also emotionally understand Ginny more she just has a horrible way of communicating it (aka she doesn’t). The teacher being blatantly racist is annoying mainly because it wouldn’t happen irl. The comments? Sure, an entire curriculum ? No way lol. They could’ve made it more realistic if instead of jumping to conclusions on racism we could watch Ginny come to a realization that someone is actually discriminating towards her. Then she can have that moment like a majority of us black teens have where we feel uneasy then start asking questions to those close to us/ looking it up. That would make this show a trillion times better because instead of “calling out” racism in these teen characters it would display the mental and emotional weight that comes with facing every day discrimination. Instead they forced ginny to have a mental breakdown about her mother, but threw race in there too.

  • As a mixed person, I can see a lot of myself in Ginny. She is a mixed girl with a white mother and black father who was mainly raised by her white mother who had no idea how to raise a mixed kid. Which is obviously not Georgia fault in anyway but she still didn’t try to make any effort to teach Ginny about her roots or protect her racism, she only saw creepy old men and poverty as a threat (things she dealt with as a kid) to Ginny and focused on that. She can only help Ginny with problems she has experienced. But Georgia is still a very loving a fiercely protective mother so I wouldn’t doubt for a second that she wouldn’t run like Hell to try to help Ginny with a racial issue if she knew about it, so it’s more of a she can’t help issue than she doesn’t care. Also when Georgia does see Ginny struggling to be a mixed kid, she never takes the right course of action (again because she doesn’t know). I feel like Ginny would understand the struggles of being a mixed kid more if she had more time with Zion as a kid. Ginny was raised more of a white kid by Georgia which doesn’t fit and causes more issues because she is not a white kid, much like myself. Overall I think Ginny’s struggles as a mixed kid (and her lack of knowledge on how to deal with it) are very realistic for someone raised by a white person. *EDIT:* Also I always welcomed with open arms by white people, never black people. I can make friends with white people pretty easily and they don’t ask me dumb questions about being mixed or black. Only black people do that.

    • I completely agree with you, especially on the very last part. Being biracial comes with its own unique struggles and many of us struggle with acceptance and our identity. And it doesn’t help when the people around us don’t understand it well either. Although Ginny still gets on my nerves, and although I love Georgia, spending more time with her Dad would be good for her- she can finally interact with a side of herself that she’s never been able to before. I understand Georgia’s concern, but she’s definitely got tunnel vision with this decision, and it hurts Ginny more than it helps. Very realistic, very frustrating to watch because it’s frustrating to live it. I’m glad to see a show TRULY representing a mixed girl instead of just making her the “light skinned pretty privileged” character; I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes EDIT: I don’t wanna sound like I’m attacking Ginny cause to me she seemed to be more mature and start to have some character development; ik I said she gets on my nerves sometimes but I just wanted to say that LOLL. And also I appreciate so much her having a mixed therapist. A small detail some might overlook but it makes a world of difference

She was laughing and saying "do you believe that?" as if her mom was wrong. It feels very odd to me that she insists on saying she's a black person (which she is partly), but refusing to accept that she's not entirely. She has perfectly on the middle black and white features (curly hair, darker skin like Ginny's, a body type similar to both races, a small nose, bigger lips, etc. Everything on her is perfectly mixed, not black enough and not white enough). • Yeah, I totally didn't understand Ginny's problem with the teacher. I thought it was nice of him trying to have her present a book which she thinks is inclusive. Cause how could he know as a white middle aged man? All her problems with him felt to me like she was seeing problems where there weren't. I always felt like the teacher was singleing her out because she openly critisized him since the first class, not because she was black. However I must mention that I am white, so I wasn't (and still am not) sure if I just don't understand the subtext because of my white privilage. But I have seen teachers singleing out "rioters"/those who were complaining aloud, in all white classroom. That's why I didn't really connect it to racism.

The cop scene is number 1, a cop looks at Ginny, Ginny glares back at it, the cops is disrespected. Ginny assumes he’s racist because he’s white and tryna do his job. Did I read this situation right, politely disagree with me if you have other opinions. The main issues with the racism is it can’t be forced, it needs to be impactful instead of extremely constant, it makes it lack of significance instead of being another one of every episode. • Oddly, I get Marcus vibes from Joe, and Hunter vibes from Paul. Georgia keeps pushing Paul away, not because for no reason, but because she doesn't really love him as a husband. They make great business partners, but as marriage partners they clash. The part of her being in a gingerbread house Paul even confronted this in why she won't take him as a partner seriously because she doesn't really love him, rather her only thought towards Paul is survival mode for security and money. She never had room in her subconscious mind for an authentic romantic relationship with Paul built on respect and consideration because she never even built that with him. Rather, they both rushed into the relationship together without any solid foundation built on that. Within both of the seasons Georgia was building that foundation with Joe and they weren't even dating. He was the first person she trusted with her sister, her daughter, and with her career. She knew he would be there and wanted to be close to him in any sort of way, but with her past and trauma she was too scared to start a romantic relationship with Joe to begin with because she thought she would ruin him before it even started. She loved him but the only one that's keeping her from building that with him is herself. Just like how it was with Marcus towards Ginny he was too scared to love Ginny because he thought he would ruin her and hurt her in every way. He even felt trapped that age was the only good thing that made him happy in his life. He loved her, but the only one who's stopping him from staying in a relationship with her is himself. Ginny and Marcus's relationship is a lot like Joe and Georgia's that's why Marcus and Joe had the moment together when they were sitting in the lobby together talking about the girls because it reflects their feelings and struggles they're having in their relationships as men. In an odd way it was kind of a bonding moment together and an uplifting time Joe needed as well as Marcus to have a clearer mind in the moment. It was like an upcoming moment between both men.

Plus, the only time Georgia ever felt grounded and closure was with Joe, as if she could be herself and not live in a spiral of expectations or fear. When she was with Joe he was the only person she was able to confide in. Paul and Joe were two people that were good examples for her in her chaotic life, but I feel so though for Paul, it would be way too much for him to handle that he would break, however Joe on the other hand I feel he would've been able to withstand it since he was always there when she was at her weakest and at her most chaotic moments in her life. He was supportive of her by letting her be herself with no judgement, yet was a gentle wise person who held up his boundaries firm in not allowing her to run him over, yet loved anyways her by supporting her through it all, like at the wedding with the horses. He wasn't there for Paul, but he was there for Georgia and had no underhanded expectations from her for doing so.

That yeah we don’t know much about Joe (they’ve been delving into joes past recently instead of Paul’s so it makes sense these two will get together). I also agree that Joe is the best choice for Georgia although she doesn’t see it that way (despite what she feels for him) and has taken him granted for a lot of the show. Maybe she’s so scared of happiness or maybe she really likes power security etc. or maybe she really does love Paul way more than she does anyone else. Idk. I also agree that Paul would break. Why? Cause he’s sane. He’s a sane man who has already dealt with a lot of lies from Georgia. Not to mention he forgave her for all of the lies. When he finds out that she lied about MURDERING people that’ll be the nail in the relationship mostly cause it’s something so big to hide from someone when you’re MARRIED. It’ll make him feel like he doesn’t know her at all. That’s heartbreaking tbh, for Paul and Georgia both, but mostly paul. They’re not gonna last fs. They’re better as business partners and friends. And trust me i love Georgia. I really do. I really wish she could’ve had her knight in shining armour moment life with Paul. I rooted for them so much but when she put Tom out of his misery I just didn’t understand why? Maybe it was a way to self sabotage cause that time she thought she was leaving. to think she threw all of her stable life away makes me sure her ending toms life (I wouldn’t call it a m*rder) was her way of self destructing. In the end she is someone who ended 3 people’s lives. All of them seem justified but she isn’t what Paul or Joe deserve (but for different reasons as explained above). Thanks for the introspection!

She's lived most of her life lost and confused having to take action in ways she thought was best to protect her and her children, and sometimes that didn't result in the right decisions and choices she's made along the way. I'm not saying it's right and in no shape and form, but I'm saying that it was a part of her character in an understanding reason on why she did the things she did. She can't accept a stabled live because she's feels unstable and she never knew what stability felt like. There was a time or two when she did, but ended up repeating the same cycle with no safety, protection, and security for herself and her life. She made those wrong decisions because that's what she was taught along the way and that was what she believed to give her the sense of security when she felt threatened and scared. She needs someone that she can be herself with and grow in as well give her a sense of security and allow her to see her wrong actions to take accountability for then by doing what's right for herself, others, and her children.

  • They should have ended it with Georgia not killing Tom (such a weird plottwist in my opinion) but Jesse discovering something about her (what can get her in jail) with a iconic final sentence. Not ruining her wedding. Oh and of course, it should have been a BARN WEDDING.

  • Character conclusion: Ginny: Bitchy, but had some Character Development. Georgia: Flawed, but an absolute Queen Max: Dramatic, but also had good character development. Marcus: So much funnier and less creepy this season. Glad he's getting help. Abby: Ffs this girl needs more attention! She's by far the most relatable and real character on the show. Norah: She doesnt really have much screentime. They could expand on her relationship with Jordan. Paul: Imo hes the best for Georgia. And he's so patient for staying w her even after everything she told him. Zion: Not the best dad for not being that involved before, but he loves Ginny and treats Austin like his own. Ellen: Queen. Get her a vacation lol Clint: Best dad on the show. So adorable and wise at the same time lol Joe: We stan this King, but get him out of this thing w Cynthia lol shes like 15 years older. And fuck you to: Zion's parents, the Detective, Kenny's ex wife, Georgia's parents, Samantha, Press and S1 Hunter for traumatising me from cringe

It feels like theyre trying so hard to make her “different”, ESPECIALLY with the blue hair and then she got rid of it and said “i’m over it” like damn okay. Silver is probably the most well dressed and screams alt and i’m living for it.

  • I watched both your videos on Ginny and Georgia, and absolutely loved it. However, somethings I'd like to point out from both videos, 1. Norah and Abby didn’t speak up for Ginny at the store because, firstly I think, they are teenagers. They got scared. They weren’t fully on board with having Ginny as their group member. They didn’t think of her as that kind of friend. She was just someone Max admired. They didn’t have a bond where they would stand up for eachother when they themselves having stolen goods inside their bags and sleeves. They could've made a proper apology later after they became MANG, but well. 2. I really disliked how Ginny in S1. And specially when she mailed those letters to Gil. I can guess that it is very difficult to find out that your mom killed a person. It's natural to feel overwhelmed and scared. But YOU KNOW WHY SHE DID THAT. Before sending out letters to someone maybe, ask her about it? Have a fight, scream and shout. But don't send out letters to prison. 3. I loved how we explored Ginny's struggle in this season and it gave all of us a better understanding of her character. 4. Going to defend Georgia a whole lot. Georgia isn’t a perfect mom, she said it herself. But she did what she felt was right at that age. She was abused by her parents/step parents her entire childhood. She escaped and the first person she relied on taught her to sting. She was a kid who had nothing, and when she got pregnant she became responsible for another kid. She still fights with her daughter like a teenager because she didn’t get to be one. She didn’t have a care free life like she did in wellsberry. She hated therapy because she grew up fighting, outwitting people for herself and her daughter. She believes therapy is for weak people because she was once weak and she didn’t come this far by talking with other people that she had a hard life. Everyone is ignoring Georgia’s character development in this therapy episode. She realized Ginnys perspective, she realized not everything she did, helped Ginny. And she was sorry, she acknowledged that vulnerability is Ginny's super power. Georgia needs therapy herself. She isn’t a character you look up to. But she is a character you need to understand. And that's why I love her.

  • idk maybe it’s because i’m a cusper, 96 baby. I find the racial things of the show to be very realistic . Talking about jack and hill and the green bean casserole, or even having brisha be the more accepting character mimics mine and most of my friends experiences to a T. Also with Georgia being cool with one thing but not another also seems very realistic to me because that’s how my friends parents are, and even my parents in a way. I do notice Gen Z feels very different on these topics though , i wonder if the generation difference is a factor . Most Gen Z reviews i see consider things that seem socially conscious to me as “race baiting” . Is it that yall see race as secondary to things like class so you all want it less talked about? I really wanna understand this and why it’s so different for millennials and generations before.

This season made me sympathize with Ginny a lot and i loved the fact that both Ginny and Georgia understood each other at the end of the season. But problem will definitely arise in the next season when Ginny will get to know that Georgia murdered Tom. Edit: i fcking hated zion's mom in every scene she was in.
