MY COUSIN'S MOVED IN!!!

There's a new guy in town - my incredible cousin, Amaury, has moved in to the chateau! As our live-in carpenter, he has an epic mountain of restoration (and hopefully a whole lot of fun) ahead of him. And, in our first ever 'DanCam', Dan edits footage of the INCREDIBLE moat clearing that he and his team did whilst I was in Italy...
To see Dan's in depth version of clearing the moat and managing the grounds at the chateau, check out his amazing daily vlog @escapetoruralfrance
The Chateau Diaries Episode 247 ✨🏰✨

  • Can we get this to a bunch of likes so Stephanie can see this comment? I just wanted to say that I LOVED the format of today’s video. Beautiful transitions (b-roll of the chateau, peafowl, etc.), excellent background music, and I especially loved Stephanie narrating dan’s video input! I think more la landers should put inputs of what they’re doing with Stephanie narrating it. Today’s video is so well done!! Pls keep it going!

  • I much prefer the videos just at LaLande, watching the work and restoration going on with such interesting people. Throw in some brocante visits here and there with all that that inspires and I’m happy.

    • Avani Green: I have been watching since March 2020 so am no newbie. I am English so might not be so desirous to view big old rich posh houses as others: they tended to be built with some dodgy money, by and large. Most of the glorious English estates were built with money made from colonial slavery, for example, and the European ones likewise. Hence the French Revolution. I was just stating my preference because I really enjoy seeing the multi-dimensional life at Lalande, that’s all - the restoration/working side of things rather than other smart chateaux, and would like to see more.

    • My aunt and uncle are English and loved Country Estates their whole lives. The bigger the better. My uncle collected and sold country style antiques. They didn't travel abroad like their daughter. Where as my English father loved biking, camping, history and ruins (Romain, Abbys, etc). My father and aunt grew up in York and survived the bombing of WW II which explains a lot for both points of view. Preserve the work of the artisan in chapel, church, Cathedral or Estates. Enjoy travel and cultures of the world. Study History and stop repeating the same issues again and again. All that Stephanie has shown us is fantastic from visiting Vietnam to the Castle next door. Plus we get to hang out with artists, artisans, workers, and thinkers on holiday or in the moment of creation. It is like a grand salon in Paris in centuries past with Castle attached.

    • @@omaum8410 if one is making such large claims, you better be sure to add a reputable source in that, so that indeed you don't get someone killed. (Cause they've been convinced by people like you, that want to help, I'm sure, that they don't need all the heavy treatments the doc is giving them, cause all they need is a little dandelion juice, right? That's what someone claiming to know said on the Internet.) So I politely request that you provide a good study, from a reputable source, with a blind test that show without reasonable doubt it has a significant and repeatable (under controlled scientific supervision and environment) positive effect, larger then the effect of a similarly administered placebo. And if you can't provide any evidence for any of it, then I suggest you never dare risk someones life like this again, at least be gracious enough to add a "don't stop or start any treatments without consulting your oncologist, this is an old wife's tale and have not been scientifically proven". The only reason I'm not cussing you out right now is i choose to believe you were trying to be helpful or consoling, but you were so far off in "this is so fucking dangerous rhetoric/territory without any form of proof or source or study" that you may have just killed someone with your reckless behaviour. And I don't care if you had cancer and find drinking the thing helpful, cause that is not what you said. You stated- as it stands- that dandelion juice BY IT SELF can cure cancer, what cancer you ask, there was no clarification so that would mean all of them, RIGHT?! And all that without a way for them to see if you are telling the truth, ya know why thats dangerous? Cause someone that scared don't really think clearly and can denial their way into thinking a "quick fix" would do it for them, they may believe things with way laxer evidence or even fairytales of this and that, because they want to believe it you see. So please stop disrespecting all the people we know that we've lost, by making more, do you hear?

The moat sure looks wonderful and I bet the fish are happy too!! Was fun seeing everyone so excited to see Amaury show up, gosh driving 13 hours is quite a feat. Your love for your Chateau rubs off on everyone there and it shows. So uplifting and fun to watch.
