They should keep Leiter and try to continue to improve him even if it means out of the bullpen. Yes he was rushed but they didn't have much of a choice. It's time that Texas develops pitching for once yes Bradford is literally the one exception but other than that it's always been hitters. They didn't bother helping Ragens develop his slider and the Royals did haha now he's definitely a future superstar who's a absolute monster. You can only buy pitching for so long especially when most of these hurt starters are way over 30 years old you have to develop at some point. This team will be way better than last year they just need to get healthy can't wait to get back Lowe he should be ready very soon. Sborz will help this bullpen I believe in them way more than last season.
Leiter has potential, we are 100% not trading him. He had a rough debut, but it's how it is, he is still extremely raw. I think he stays in the pen or has 1 more start before he's sent back down.
No they shouldn’t 7 runs no take him out and how did Bruce get ejected
@@haydenthrower4710a few of those runs are on Tavares being a bonehead in the outfield
@@waynegreen7634 yep, his typical WTF moment he has every 8 to 10 games.
How did Bruce get ejected
Jack had some pretty good pitches and looks to have pretty nasty stuff. 98 on the fastball and a nasty change up if he finds the groove with those he could be a big call up!
Pretty sure the plan has always been to send him right back down
Leiter is going to get better. He ate with a lot of those pitches and I can’t imagine the pressure he was under. Y’all gotta chill on Taveras. He made up for his mistake, plus he didn’t put us in that situation in the first place. Good news is our bats are back!!! Semi, Heim, and Bombi homers 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The Bash Brothers are back, and that helps. I will also say this, Cody Bradford was lit up in his 1st start, and everything turned out okay for him. I think Leiter makes a few more spot starts, but he will ultimately be a middle releaver this year.
Leiter reminds me of former Texas Ranger first round pick Thomas Diamond and that's no dig. Thomas had fantastic stuff and had similar early control issues, but unfortunately blew out his arm. Urena with 3 shutout innings in relief of Leiter and gets no mention.
Right On, Way to GO RANGERS ❤️💙⚾️🙌🏾
Big ups Urena!! Kept us in it long enough, until we got the bats going again.
Who had Bradford and Urena as two of our best pitchers to start the year? Not me.
KIRBY YATES IS THA GOAT
Leiter’s stuff looked good IMO, he’s got a killer change up. His final line looked bad because of that whiff by Taveras on a catch he should have made.
He needs another chance!
@@waynegreen7634 he’ll get it but probably needs a little more polishing in AAA.
hats off to the bullpen!!!! great job y'all!!!
Especially to Yates, he won the closer job with this series, and shoutouts to Urena for assisting the bullpen after Leiters poor start. Leiter has potential, but he is still really raw. I don't think we call him down, expect another start for him soon.
@@joshuastar77 he's a very smart kid as well he will learn and Maddux will teach!
Every time I watch highlights, I have to go full screen because there is either ranger fans-or the other teams fans- in the comments saying, “ way to go Rangers!”
Well, this'll ruin it for ya - I've noticed that it's basically the wins that are posted to the Rangers channel. If the Rangers lost, it's on the main MLB channel.
Jack Leiter's situation reminds me of Todd Van Poppel in the early 90s. He was drafted by the Oakland A's in the 1st round (14th) of the 1990 MLB draft straight out of Arlington Martin high school. Touted as the greatest pitcher in the history of earth and never had a successful major league outing to my knowledge. At least Leiter played college ball and is coming up through the minor league system as all new players should.
Have no doubt that jack will get better.
This was such a up and down game for leody... he definitely owes Jack Leiter a steak tonight
So nobody going to mention how Tavares swept the leg as if Kreese gave him the signal during the run down? 😂
Let’s keep it up.
Detroit is salty. Pretty tough 4 game series. Hopefully bats stay hot against ATL
I don’t know what’s happened to the Rangers lately, but who’s complaining? I know I’m not. The Rangers won the World Series, they’re hosting the All Star game, I mean what’s going on??????
Leody… 🤦🏾♂️
Spencer Howard 2.0
Only 1 start, plus, he only had 4 triple AAA appearances before this. He was roughed up today, but Cody Bradford was roughed up in his 1st start, and everything turned out okay for him. If he can limit the walks, he's going to be good.
We'll game
Tigers may be the worst defensive team I’ve ever seen lmao 😂
getting real tired of the casuals in the comments recently DFA leclerc? bench taveras? bench carter? get a grip, people
Leiters pitches are flat. Vol good but no movement.
Wonder who has best closer Rangers or Astros.lol
Yates proving that right now.
go rangers
Those announceers are bias B00!
That's kinda the point though
Leiter is terrible, he still hasn't honed in his control. We can hope he'll "find it" but so far in his pro career he hasn't. That aside, nice series win for the champs.
Ugly win in the end, but rookie P has good stuff! And we did what we're supposed to and took advantage of poor defense.
Leiter pitched like shit. Zero control, got absolutely hammered. Over 7 balls hit with 100 exit velo, several others 95-99. He was fooling no one and was getting barreled. Unacceptable.
I agree that Leiter stunk it up
So... are the tigers good or are we bad? Pitching has been.... bleh
I mean, Lorenzon, Gray, and Dunning combined for 17 IP, and only 3 ER combined by the 3. I think our starters have outperformed themselves.
@@joshuastar77 yeah it’s the bullpen, you’re right…. Same as last year.
@@georgejohnson8674 lineup has been lacking the last few games just check the last time the offense did anything before today
@@waynegreen7634it’s early in season this ain’t no issues 140 games to go
@@georgejohnson8674 the high leverage bullpen has been good, Especially Yates and Roberson, but I agree, our low leverage bullpen has been BUTTCHEEKS.
Scrappy game!
Impressive safe from that pickle 🥒
Leiter was PURE GARBAGE. 7 runs allowed in 3.2 innings??? SUCK!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully, that was just pitching in the majors for the first time cause if he continues to SUCK, he will be in A ball before he gives up another run.
How did Garcia hit that out bro 😭 he’s on roids
Grow up.
Lemme guess. Asstros fan? 😂
Lemme guess a remedial asstros fan
He's just a badass
