  • I can't believe France even decides to let Paire play for them in these events. He's the epitome of everything you do not want representing your country on a stage like that. Absolute embarrassment.

    • the ATP Cup rules details that the No.1 and No.2 players play their matches with the other country's No.1 and No.2 players respectively. So Paire had to go in and play. the tie with South Africa was because Gael had an injury and so Gilles Simon played the first match and then Paire went up against Kevin.

    • Maybe but Paire won 2 of 3 matchs and the match he lose was really close against a former n10 rankings so even if you find him not good it is in its place. On the tactical level, it is a player who knows how to destabilize his opponents, therefore a force ... Whether you want it or not

Sitting comfortably in those chairs, having water, breaks and team/couch support and smashing tennis rackets, shouting, yelling like that. As a former tennis player, I've had my moments of weakness, and days when nothing went how I imagined. I would throw the racket down, but just calmly in disbelief that nothing was going well. • Calls are overturned ONLY when there's clear evidence that the call was wrong. The problem here was that the umpire worded his decision very poorly. He said: "We don't have enough evidence to confirm the call, HOWEVER the call stands", which makes it sound like he's making an exception on the rule. If he had said "Video review didn't provide conclusive evidence to overturn the call, so the call stands" there wouldn't be any confusion.

Just look at Tsitsipas who isnt even that bad, totally disrespecting his father and hitting him in anger for absolutely no reason. His dather have probably done everything and more for Tsitsipas the last 15 years, and still he can show him this disrespect. Zverev yelling fuck you to his box. Which is the people who will do everything for him, and have done so for many many years. Just imagine Nadal disrespecting uncle Tony. He would NEVER do that. Thiem is a great face for tennis, super humble and genuine nice guy. Hopefully he can win AO, as he deserves it 100%.

By rule there will have to be inconclusive evidence to overrule to call. in this case the picture, as an understatement, is not so clear cut, therefore the call stands. 16:04 THIS IS A CLEAR CUT EVIDENCE! • The reason why the video video review footage looks 'bad', is because it is high shutter speed camera to get fluent slowed down video. That is with the best slo-mo cams in the world. To make it better, they would have to have very strong lights pointed to what is being recorded. Because that is not possible during tennis (having a strong spotlight aimed at the court lines the entire time, because it would hinder the players), this is the best they can do regarding light. The resolution also can't be high, because slo-mo cams recording the entire rally, would need massive memory capacities. Even the best slo-mo cams in the world can only record very little time at high resolution, because it's about memory capacity.
