    • Even before the last battle, when they both meet to talk. He knew Spartacus's cause was just, to fight against slavery and Roman's oppression. Crassus shakes his hand Spartacus: There is no justice, not in this world. Crassus: At last, a thing we agree upon. Spartacus: When we again meet, I'll kill you. Crassus: No, you are going to try. Spartacus: It is all a free man can do. Compared to GOT, this TV show was perfect from the beginning till its end

    • Well, to be fair. The real Spartacus wasn't exactly the freedom fighter from the legends. Yes he freed slaves, yes he rallied them. But he committed atrocities against the Roman people that weren't a testament of great morals. And considering what he did with his armies, liberation of the enslaved wasn't the main goal. It seemed more like he was a man unleashed. An icon, later on of course, given how freeing slaves is an objectively right thing. But not a saint. :O

    • Honestly, Liam was not on Andy's level in Vengeance, but that is understandable given his relative lack of experience, and having to fit in with established characters, writers, and setting. When everything got changed up for War of the Damned he really grew into the character. I would have loved to have seen another season between V and WOTD, or at least stretching the last season out to 13 episodes like the first, to better tell the second half of the story.

  • I really love the climax of their conflict. Crassus had that move in his pocket, it was foreshadowed in advance and implied that it was so bold and unpredictable that even a champion gladiator couldn’t see it coming. And he pulled it on a Spartacus that was half dead on his feet… but then our boy just doesn’t even hesitate and hits him with a straight up uno reverse on reverse, and that look on his face just says “dude, I’m not playing around here.” It’s incredible and heart wrenching to see this be the moment where our MC finally has to go down, but truth is this is the best we could get from a historical fiction standpoint. But still, Spartacus won this fight, driven by pure vengeance and rage, and at the last second, still fighting prowess and genius, manifested through a hellish gauntlet of nonstop impossible combat experience. Marcus may have walked away from the fight, but he will never be able to scrub that shit stain from his drawers.

Crassus was killed many uears later after a falling out with Pompei and the senate about attacking the Parthians. The Parthians offered Crassus a sit down talk, on way to said meeting one of Crassus men suspected ambush grabbed Crassus horse by the bridle and caused a fight with the Parthians. • Easily the best portrayal of the Spartacus saga to have ever graced a screen, the most realistic arena fights and battles to have been recorded by camera and the best actor to have assumed the main lead role; an absolute cinematic epic that time will venerate as one of the finest of the genre regardless of any future attempts to render similar stories convincingly.

    • Realistic arena fights? Definitely not except maybe the executions of the criminals (if they were facing against a professional gladiator, then they wouldn’t have been given real weapons). The show brutalized the sport of gladiators more than what it really was in Ancient Rome. Nonetheless it was still a good show

But to the matter at hand. Liam did an absolutely great job as a leader. I must say, that Andy did far better in those emotional, pure rage and sorrow moments, but Liam looks to me as far better at the role of leader. • I like how for Agron and the other slaves in the area, Spartacus's life was so much more important than Crassus's that they didn't even bother to kill Crassus - Agron just knocked him away as if he was just an insignificant lowlife, and it's as if he was so worthless to Agron and the other slaves in the area that they wouldn't spend [any of the time that they could spend staying with Spartacus during his (almost certain to be) final moments in life] to kill him. And all this is true while Crassus was at the time the most powerful and wealthy individual of the mighty Roman Republic, and Spartacus was seen by most of his contemporaries as little more than a dangerous slave who lead a failed rebellion - people didn't even know his original name. This to me shows the worthlessness of worldly power and fame in face of true heroism and righteousness. I was so moved and inspired by this scene.

  • the scene was amazing! both exosted of a long battle, but both know this was the momment they long been waiting for, the memories of his loses flashed on his eye, forced him to use all he has in his breathe and might, smashing his sword on crussus's mass of flesh and iron, was the best moment of the entire serie, i could feel the exostion and the anger in him which a real champion could have had in that momment, and immidiatly you get another flashback in your mind when crassus blocks the sword on the air, the same exact tactic which ended crassus's trainer. it shows the skills of the director.
