  • Pro tip. Always play ranked, and look at it as a matchmaking system for YOUR skill lvl, and not a prestige. Ranked is basically a mode that is design for you to be placed in a level where you will be challenged. So dont stress over rank, see it as the way to play. period. Win or loose doesnt matter, a good match matter. ;)

    • I noticed that a lot of decent T8 and SF6 player are afraid to play ranked so you end up running into people who knows full strings but have unranked accounts. Makes casual feel more competitive than competitive

    • @@GuerrillaGorilla023Basically new to the series and whenever I do quick match I swear I'm always getting placed with unranked accounts that have a tekken score of 100 yet know every full sting and move imaginable for their character lmao so i agree.

    • @@roanlo1213 I prefer the Guilty Gear Strive model where your win rate at a certain skill level locks you out of the floor until your win rate drops (for casual anyway).

  • To add to the replay function; there's actually a function to play in the replay. the opponent will do the moves they did as normal during the replay, but you'll have full control. It's a great way to lab against real players

  • Fantastic guide, and I've been playing the same character since I started a week after launch, and I agree that playing other people is the way to learn. I know some moves and combos, but even now it still goes straight out the window when my opponent starts using moves I simply have no clue how to deal with and/or just can't react to. Basically, I feel like I'm going to be a beginner for years to come, and that's ok.

  • People, please dont sleep on Ghost AI...at least fighting the AI of other human players in this game! I'll say, downloading the AI ghosts of others online players has helped me quite a bit. Understanding opponent characters, challenging the ghosts of well known players to get an idea of how they play, asserting combos in a less stressful environment has made the game enjoyable for me. I haven't had rank frustration. Also fighting my own ghost has shown me some of my own weaknesses as I've gotten better. For now, I play friends I know and sharpen my skills with the help of the AI. The "AI" behaves in a way that feels much different from the games base "CPU".

  • I love the tip that key moves section gives. “You don’t know how good a move is in a real match.” For me I’m not much of a frame data player so I don’t understand it that much but I can see people who are looking at the info on the attacks and assuming it’s useless is straight up dangerous to throw out. At the same time those are the moves that they are having the worst time because of their assumptions. People are unpredictable especially in lower ranks so testing a move to see if it works is the main way to see if it’s actually useless or not. You may end up using it as your clutch tool or combo starter.

  • Great guide! I'm now at intermediate levels and struggling some and need to figure out a reasonable carry combo, but my issue is... I'm maining Lee, and I feel like his are very difficult. Meanwhle I'm now getting full-screen carried by Leos and such, one wall to the next. But no one really explains it simply in guides, and the B2 loop is way too difficult to keep up (I can do two, maybe 3).

    @JeanKP14@JeanKP1418 күн бұрын
  • I agree with the very first part. Go into practice mode with a new character and first learn a combo with decent damage. Learn a couple key moves and go into player matches. Ofc you will get whooped most likely but then you discover some weaknesses you beed to improve at. Also personally its more fun to just match people, but only if im not completely clueless about my character.

  • Not expecting to win is a very important point. If you lower your expectations and "play to learn" rather than "play to win" you're gonna find much less frustration and rage in your time playing. Then you play more of the game you spent 70€ on and it feels worth while. I did this once in SF6 and I had a fun time. Though I still get stuck in training mode making up combos all the time, playing against real people is scary but I eventually will, not expecting to win.

  • Great video. Most of the begginers guides seems made for advanced players somehow. Would it be too much if I asked you for guides on the individual characters, using the same structure you used here? "This us Jin. This is Jins pokes. Jins lows etc... bet a lot of people would watch it instead of a 1 hour video of the character

  • This is a fallacy - different characters have different execution levels. Playing a brian or Kazuya is much harder than playing a Shaheen Or Ling. Lee will be hader because he has just frames you need to be able to do. Every character's d/f +1 can have different frame data or properties. Don't assume they are the same. Backdashing is much weaker in T8 - you gotta be careful with it. Running in on people is stupid in a lot of cases, because you can get SWed, or people can play "keepout" on you. Please realize that what this guy is telling you is very remedial, and you can't use these suggestions every round the same way every time. In Tekken, a lot of the time no approach is the best approach. Backsway blows are usually punishable, so don't spam it. They can get your mouth blown out if you are getting blocked. Reina's d/f +2 doesn't launch. Only use your 15 frame move when you block something that is -15 or higher on block. LEARN YOUR CHARACTER'S FRAME DATA!!!!!!
