100% Steven pitched this to have the boys try Skyline Chili and he did outsmart them until the very end… well played Steven
Totally, must be the evil goatee and Stache . . .so diabolical. A great trick and sweet treat.
He couldn't take the slander on Top 5 Beatdown and had to correct the error of their ways lmao
This has been his plan ever since the top 5 beat down episode
Legend behavior tbh
I never thought Steven could be this diabolical. Props to him for making them try it and have them admit it’s not bad 😂
Honestly the boys eating Skyline right before going out on stage in front of a huge crowd is the bravest thing they've ever done
We should thank Steven Lim for that 👏 😂
Genuinely I don’t know how they eat most of the stuff they eat before doing anything. I’d shit myself at least once an event.
They could shit their pants 45 minutes in lmao
Usually within about twenty minutes of eating a three way, a couple of coneys, and a chilito, (a spaghetti, chili, and sour cream burrito) , I start to experience the tummy tumbles. lol
Ryan’s really pulling off that hipster train conductor look.
Or he looks like he about to jump on a lobster boat and battle the seven seas.
...or a chimney sweeper
... Or another thing!
He could really pull off Thomas the tank engines train conductor 😂
@@thatgirl9532 …U threw off the groove! If only u would’ve started ur comment w “or” ^o^ 🥀🗯️
I love Shane’s way of thinking. Quote “It does taste different, it tastes big.”
great line lolol
when does he say that? i think i missed it
@@dprdennyat 11:28-11:29 is when Shane says “It does taste different, it tastes big.”
@@dprdennyhe actually says *It does taste different, it tastes bigger*
That’s what… That’s.. that’s.. that’s what… ᵗʰᵃᵗ’ˢ ʷʰᵃᵗ ˢʰᵉ ˢᵃⁱᵈ
As an ex-Ohioan, this Food Files really captured a certain Ohio aesthetic. When it flashes to "Skyline Chilli" in a nondescript plaza, with the L missing on the sign, under ominous cold gray skies. You can almost feel the wind whipping through that drive-in parking lot. And Cleveland is all crashing gray waves & decaying brick buildings. Ah... memories. Props to the cinematographer. :)
Also an Ohioan, this was so spot-on omg
I know that Skyline Chili, and it's almost as nondescript inside as it is outside. That being said, I agree with the guys, Skyline Chili is OK. It's not chili as most people think of chili, which is fine. But it's a heaping pile of meat, sauce, spaghetti, and cheese. You can't really fuck that up.
It’s the one in Lyndhurst!! I literally gasped knowing someone from watcher was that close to my house
feels like a scene straight out of a horror movie
It was one of the most Ohio things I have ever seen. As a native Ohioian tho I do not claim Skyline. Cincinnati can keep that trash.
The "Do all apples taste the same?" with Shane standing alone in the darkness eating an apple really got me.
Petition for Ryan and Shane to come to england and investigate a bri'ish case
They did Colchester castle in the old days
Good old beans and toast 🥶🥶
They need to come do the Edinburgh Vaults!
Technically, they did. When they were with BuzzFeed, they did Jack the Ripper in England.
Oí Bruv fancy a cuppa of these nuts
“hot wet worm” is crazyyy but Shane’s so right lmfao
Steven is downright diabolical for sending his co-producers chili with a MOUNTAIN of cheese right before a liveshow 😭
Shane telling Ryan it's time to eat apples like a kindergarten teacher it's the cutest thing ever. Especially, when Ryan dressed liked a kindergartener in the 90s😂❤
Shane and Ryan review Midwestern cuisine could be a whole separate channel honestly
ryan is correct saying apples are a laxative; a lot of fruits are very high in natural fiber which helps with digestion
Bananas always help the job
this says more about ryan's general fiber content tbh
Common side effect when babies are given apples
Forget fiber, even just drinking apple juice sends my bowels for a loop!
@@rivergreen1727 the laxative effect is from pectin, which apples have a lot of.
Good to see Adam doing his classic bit of eating the left overs again, I missed seeing his face haha
That just makes me really miss worth it too so much nostalgia 😂
Ah the infamous Skyline Chilli, so glad they tried it on the show
Infamous?! I’m from Cincinnati, I LOVE that shit!
To quote someone from Reddit "Cincinnati chili is different from chili con Carne (now, shortened to chili). Cincinnati chili is a Greek based (explains the savory additives like cinnamon and allspice) meat sauce that is added to things, hot dogs, fries, pasta, etc. Chili is a meal in itself, very similar to a stew." As someone from Arizona. You put chili con carne on hotdogs. Not whatever the hell that slop is. They ruin chili then ruin a hot dog or fries with it as well. Americans, I swear. They argue that it's like curry. Then just call it curry. ffs
@@lilpsyche6971 It’s a food name. There’s nothing serious about it. Calm down.
Thank you Steven!!! Now Ryan and Shane took more dumps 😂
I love Ryan accidentally revealing that he doesn’t get enough fiber in his diet by saying apples make him poop
Apples are high in FODMAP, which can cause bloating and diarrhea in people with IBS. I discovered this because I'm trying out a low FODMAP diet to ascertain which food groups my bowels disagree with.
@@crazylieblingwait, wut. Apples and apple juice do this to me every time, I might have IBS.
Saying "deep fried burrito" kills me when instead you could say the incredibly fun word "chimichanga" 😂
Exactly. 🤣 I was like, Ryan do you not know that’s a chimichanga?!
💯 % what I was thinking!!!
Ryan and Shane need to try Jenna Marbles' favorite NY culinary delicacy- a Garbage Plate.
Agreed
They are good, specially once the bars have closed and you need some food at 3 in the morning
Omg I would love if they came to Rochester!
@greed3568 I'm Canadian and I desperately want one myself. 😫
“HELL yeah!!!!”😎
Correction: That fried popper sandwich is a weapon of ASS destruction
😂😂😂😂
Reading this right before I got to the sandwich sent me
😂😂
Watching Shane’s midwestern roots bloom into full glory as he ate that deep fried sandwich was a delight
It made me so proud
I had been thinking it was such a pity that this series did not have Steven in it, given that he's the food guy and even Andrew and Adam were involved...but then Big Apple Steve himself made an appearance like an unexpected villain at the end of a movie lmao
Shane "I can't believe Steven hikacked this episode" Us, as fans "How didn't you see this elaborate ruse unfolding before you, we did" 😂
Steven probably was like "extra cheese on it please."
@@scottieman2 He knew what he was doing
Just starting the ep, hearing "season finale" brought a tear to my eye. Hope this comes back again in the future, I've loved every episode so much!
Ryan would have LOVED the coney if he had it in store. I worked at Skyline in high school, and the one downfall is if you get a coney to go, the cheese melts when it’s supposed to be fluffy like on the spaghetti. Ask for the cheese on the side next time
I'll stand by its just as delicious with the melting cheese
The other downside is the soggy ass bun lol. Eat it fresh or you’re gonna have bread paste lol
Honestly why it’s so worth it to make the conies at home with better quality hot dogs and buns and getting finely shredded cheddar. Get to eat them fresh and more delicious
The question is if they got them with mustard and onions, which are musts.
@@peapods42 to be fair I don’t like either of those things lol. Well onions are fine but I don’t usually add them. And I hate yellow mustard
As someone forced to live in Ohio, the boys definitely hit everything people recommend. Tho half the fun of Melt is their decorations.
I never thought I’d enjoy a KZhead show where two guys just eat and talk about food and pooping. And yes, if you’re constipated, eating an apple can help move things along.
As someone who grew up on skyline, even I would not dare to eat it before an event that I could not leave for two hours after.
I will eat that stuff on the daily, but oh boy will it be coming out of the other end real quick. Idk what it is about it, might be the cinnamon, but it wrecks my stomach.
for a minute i was worried i was gonna have to feud with the ghoul boys over cincinnati chili but i'm glad they saw the light. steven lim is absolutely right about skyline chili
absolutely obsessed with ryan's tiny train conductor boy look particularly in contrast with shane's zany philosophy professor with tenure look
I think if there’s a taste test between Honeycrisp and SweeTango, that Cosmic Crisp should also be thrown into the mix!
True. I wasn't impressed with the Sweet Tango
Cosmic crisp is the best apple in existence and it will always be grown with the same quality because it's flavor profile is defined by law.
cosmic crisp is unrivaled! i don’t really like apples but i crave those constantly
You should have tried the cheese coney. They are wonderful. I get coneys more than I get 3 ways.
As a Cincinnatian, I’m glad y’all were open to skyline! Thanks for giving it a chance boys
That Melt place is delicious, but I'm sad you didn't get to go inside. I think you would've loved it! The decor is really fun
Now they gotta do a Food Files in Wisconsin for next season and have some truly good Midwest cheese dishes
oh god i hope they can have some culver’s… best fast food in the country
@@astra1288Ryan is on record saying he hated Culver's. Lol
Culver's Bacon Burger Burgers 🤤 Then they can investigate the Milwaukee Public Museum cause that place made me believing in Ghosts
@@justinaug9879that was Ricky Goldsworth
@@justinaug9879 he did change his mind though and argued that Culvers chicken tenders are the best fast food chicken tenders… so I’ll take it
I love how they simultaneously drag and praise the skyline chili, and kudos to Steven for getting them to eat chili before they had to go on stage. All three of you, love what you do, please keep doing these! Also Adam! Love to see him included
As a Cincinnati native, Steven is incredibly based. Skyline is the best fast food and I will not hear otherwise. It even got the Markiplier seal of approval!
Not much brings me more joy than a Watcher upload.
Same 😂 I don’t mind their ghost files stuff but I watch for food content mainly 😂
I grew up in North-east Ohio, and Swenson's is one of the things I miss. I honestly love just their classic burger; the honey in the buns and onions is truly what makes this.
as a cincinnatian, the smell of skyline chili makes me hungry! I'm jelly of yall
Oh my gosh, as someone who grew up in Cincy, I am so excited for this
This is honestly one of my favorite series on your channel. It's such a simple concept, but the storytelling, editing, and overall chill vibe make it entertaining and refreshing to watch. Great job to everyone who worked on it.
One of the only group of people on youtube that i can actually listen to while they talk and be continuously entertained
The Boys actually make me LOL while watching! Their recent episode where they play the video game to escape prison is just the latest!😂😅😂
Always love the ambiance of Food Files! Really hoping this is a reoccurring show :)
Lol I was NOT expecting a line like “punishing some porcelain” 😂😂
I'm originally from Cincinnati, and I actually hate chili just in general LMAO. Skyline style chili is something people either love or hate, but I've been feeling extremely homesick lately and I knew I was going to get emotional over seeing Skyline. It sounds so dumb but this episode actually made me cry. If you're ever in Ohio again, I definitely recommend you try Skyline hotdogs without chili, just with cheese (it's what I order and it's truly better than a hotdog you'll have anywhere else). Also try Graeter's ice cream and LaRosa's pizza. Then you'll have tried everything I miss the most
Montgomery inn barbeque chicken pizza is my favorite. Best BBQ sauce imo
Skyline has cinnamon in the chili. I love it with the cheese melted into spaghetti.
Adam’s reactions are always gold
Ryan carrying Shane that was adorable 🥰
I'm from Akron and can confirm that Swenson's is absolutely iconic in the region. So glad they tried it
Glad to see they got pierogis in there somewhere- wouldn’t be an Ohio food special without it 😂
As a Cincinnatian, I can confirm, without a shadow of a reasonable doubt, that Skyline Chili is 100% delicious. I tell you what, it's basically crack for most everyone in the tri-state area. It is, in fact, my favorite. I'm not sure what the garbage smell they're getting is, but overall I'm satisfied with their assessment. Even though they didn't sing it's well deserved praises, they also didn't put the kibosh on it.
Nah, it definitely smells horrible and honestly looks gross and greasy, but the second it touches your tongue, its like actual heaven. The day I find out that one of my friends does not like skyline, immediately unfriended. It is better than goldstar imo, I like the sweetness to it because goldstar is just too tangy.
@@miyumixxx Fair enough, though I personally still think it smells delicious too. I haven't had Gold Star since I was but a small child. It's pretty much sacrilegious to prefer it over Skyline. As I recall, that's the stuff that smells like trash. I'm not biased or anything...............
Oh, and crushing up and mixing those oyster crackers in the chili after finishing a 3-way truly does look like sludge, but tastes like pure serotonin, which is probably delicious.
As a proud Cincinati naitive and massive Skyline Chili lover, kudos Steven, kudos.
I can't wait for Weird Wonderful world to get a reboot where Steven forces them to Cleveland to eat the chili in person
I am SO happy they tried Swenson's, if only they tried the potato teezers
I really enjoyed this show in general, but as someone who struggles a lot with eating enough and maintaining an appetite I just wanna say this show has helped me a LOT. Seeing you guys chow down and just enjoy all sorts of food really helps me enjoy mine more as well and find the joy in eating good food. Thank you for that!
this series has become such a gem to me, i really hope y'all bring this back it's got such great, chill energy
The Melt is the home of the gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. Before it was the Melt, it was the White Door Saloon, where I worked as a bar tender back in the day. I'm surprised no one mentioned same of our really great deli's. Best corned beef this side of New York City.
Born in Cincinnati and moved away just before my 8th birthday. I'm always surprised when i remember Skyline or hear it mentioned. It's good. It's fine. It's just different from what most people expect when they hear "chili." It is inspired by a different culinary tradition and has different ingredients, like cinnamon and allspice. It's Mediterranean, not Tex-Mex. (Edited for spelling)
never going to forget going to skyline and hearing another patron order their chili "extra wet"
Yes!!! Love Skyline. I grew up in Northern Kentucky and we love our chili.
Ryan and Shane are always putting out top tier content
Major props to the amazing editing done on this show!
Ohio is home!!! So cool y'all went there!
"I wish we could deep fry everything in the world" My friend come to Glasgow. They literally will deep fry whatever you want
Steven being from Ohio makes so much sense.
Skyline is typically an acquired taste, gotta grow up in the area typically to enjoy it.
I love they just have conversations with Adam and Andrew about shitting after consuming foods that make you shit 😂
i'm so happy you guys tried food in ohio! personally, i never tried skyline chili even after living in cincy for 7 years. i did move away recently and i miss cincy so much 🥺
loved this series 👏👏👏👏
uhhh before ya'll fall for Kamikoto's black friday deal, look up deep analysis of the brand AND the company. They are not Japanese, they're the same guys behind buying that title for Scottish Land marketing sham
Really enjoyed watching the first season of food files, love how Steven was included for the finale!
Omg it makes me SO HAPPY to see you guys try Swenson’s!!!! The one thing I miss from living in Ohio
As an Ohioan I'm proud of the Goul Boys for doing this, we have some good food, even though the state itself makes you fear trying it.
As a Cincinnatian, I've never clicked on a video so quick. As a massive Skyline Chili lover, Steven is 100% about Skyline being the best restaurant chain.
Seeing Adam was such a treat! Great ep boys and bless your bowels
Shane has the correct opinions about onion rings.
This series was amazing.
Im rewatching the whole series right now. I really dig the vibes, I hope they'll doing more of this
I LOVE food files but watching right before i sleep makes me so hungry 😂.
All of these restaurants are so good. 😋As an Ohioan, I'm lucky enough to be able to feast on all of these!
Probs to Steven, what an excellent ploy!! :') Please do more Food Files fam, this was so much fun to watch and I love the little backstage glimpses! And yes, you do constantly talk about poop. It's quite fascinating.
Omg right in my neck of the woods! Skyline is the best thing of all time.
How could you not dive into the coneys?!
Ahhhhh Skyline. You either love it or violently hate it.
I’ve honestly been curious about skyline chili ever since I’ve learn about it and Steven just cemented my curiosity even more. 😂
When I moved to Northeast Ohio, nearly the first thing I was told to do by a local friend was try Swenson's in Akron - I was glad I did! Their shakes are great as well, and allow you to combine flavors (which there are a ton of).
i genuinely think ryan talks more about poop than any other grown adult on earth
Im sad they didnt try the coneys (chili cheese hot dog sandwhich)! I like the coneys more than the spaghetti!
I love that ryan is in his “all aboard!” era
I love Food Files, never stop, lol
Me too!! I am sad it’s over for this year 😢
SKYLINE CHILI!!! YES!!!
thank you steven! seeing my beloved ghoul boys try skyline was the only thing i wanted out of this show too!
As a Cincinnatian born and raised this video has surpassed my every hope and dream
“It’s a Long con for Steven to make us eat this dish” “The trash king himself” 💀💀💀💀💀
Let’s fucking gooo!! Congratulations on season 3 as well
Looks so good! 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🔥🔥
One of my fav food files so far❤
In Minneapolis Minnsota, there's a dry cleaners called _Skyline Cleaners._ They ever stole the exact cursive Skyline logo for their neon sign! It's truly glorious. If I ever have some dry cleaning to do in Minneapolis, I *will* go there.
Shane demonstrating how not to eat a hotdog cracked me up
I need a video of them competing in blind taste tests now
So happy to have you guys in Ohio!
Lol the fact he hijacked the show for skyline chili
