Female subjugation is a global issue. In Nigeria, specifically in the Ndegu Okpuitumo community in Ebonyi state, young girls are subjected to marrying dead men in a bid to continue their bloodlines because of sudden death due to communal war between then and Osopo Esato, a neighboring community in Cross River state, Nigeria.

Also now all those people from this particular country, and others, ( similar countries to this one including) they all now going to live in Europe. We don't have enough jobs for us, , we don't have enough resources for us, I don't say about them invading whole Europe . They every where literary. Now I do understand why they don't want to live and stay in they own country and moving to Europe, it specially UK, England. Where they are involved in drug dealing, prostitution. That's what they do when they come to Europe. It specially they woman they agree for every think literary. (black woman) Also they destroying other female family's , relationship's. (Why no idea why , but those black woman they usually run after married man ) They don't care ( black people) when they in Europe, they don't care about suffering they do to others around them, it is tragic for us Europeans. It specially black woman who's doing for man what ever they ask, cause we white woman we have our pride and value our bodies, and we not agree to be slaves for a man, or do for them every think , we not agree to be prostitutes , we not, - but those ones, (black ones) they no shy to offer to local man they sex services. Black woman no shy at all, to offering to white man such thinks, and it is disgusting. I hope they will deal with they problems in they own country , where they are now , and I also hope they will stay there. It will be magical.

What are you talking about?! 1- in Europe you have disgusting things going on as well in your culture so STOP STIGMATIZING A HOLE CONTINENT BECAUSE YOU FEEL BITTER INSIDE !! 2- talking about immigration, that's a long and complicated topic to have with you but to cut it short, OUR men and women who are coming to Europe are following our stuff YOU "(white people)" took from us and you don't have to cry here!. What goes around comes around. Especially UK. You are from the UK and you can't even write in English?! Bref . As for your "(white men)" they have always been attracted to us and this will never change. - NOT ALL MARRIED MEN HAVE MISTRESS AT ALL!!! Those with mistress aren't forced to go into that, so stop crying in the internet and go take care of your man. 3- as for the prostitution, You "(white women)" have started with that by not giving yourself for free and you call it PROUD. Can a white woman talk about PROUD Infront of an African woman?! Hell No! BUT SOME white women (likeYOU) can compare themself to an expat Afro looking for a way to survive where she feels like the only way is to give herself to men or married men like YOURS cause that's your level. 4- stop putting your desperate comment under mine. *I'm married to a white man and you know what? Those relatives of the dead man and the witch doctor were the ones attacking you spiritually and making you to hallucinate about your dead friend so that you will agree to their nonsense. You were not married to him and even if you were married you have the right to leave after his death.

  • I'm skeptical that the man was appearing to her the way she described. It’s the fear that was deeply ingrained in her, affecting her mental well-being due to the pressure to have grandchildren for this family. She was sexually trafficked. Forced her to sleep with numerous men against her wishes for offsprings. They exploited her for their selfish motives, despite the children not being biologically related to them. Furthermore, she wasn't married to him before his passing. she still has the option to leave.

If she has sex with other men for the fun of it that is her business. How many men and women have sex out of wedlock or in wedlock. She is only having these children to carry on her late partner's lineage. It is in the name of the father. Just like adoption or surrogacy.

    @ekemeziechigbo489@ekemeziechigbo489Ай бұрын
  • Yeah, this is a common practice in Igbo land and other parts of Nigeria and Africa in general. Yes, that this might be an issue in Nigeria specifically Igbo land, understand that the Western World also practiced this particular stuff during the first and Second World War. This practice happened more during the Biafra and Nigeria Civil war on those who went to war and never came back. In other words, this could be seen as legitimate because if the dead war lords didn’t go to defend the community, there is the possibility that the whole village could be taken over by the adversaries. The greatest sacrifice is that person who die for others to live as Christ did. These men sacrificed their lives for others to live. Without them, I don’t think that those who are politicians today would have the opportunity to become so rich. Now, the solution here is for the state government to understand what is happening to engage these women into meaningful job. Mazi, do not call this “Barbaric” because you are able to engage in your KZhead business today because there are those in Igbo land who sacrificed for your parents to be alive and give birth to you. So sometimes we must take overview of issues before concluding with negative assumptions. The government in that state has the responsibility to understand their culture and assist these women. Sacrifice of death for others to live is not barbaric but giving others the opportunity to live and comforting bereaved families and that’s why the culture is there , also all Africa and even the western world.

    • You have a point. Nonetheless, no one should be forced against their will

      @DavidNkwa@DavidNkwaАй бұрын
    • @@DavidNkwa Do you think is about one’s “Will”? If it is decided on one’s Will, then the community and the state will seize to exist because their adversaries will win. Now, the issue of “Will” shouldn’t be in discussion in this case because what is the issue here is the continuous existence of these people and most especially those who lost their sons for others to live. Women in this village understand the culture and tradition of their people and even the state government who came from there understands their culture. “Will”, using this word does not fit into what is the paramount here. Like I said, government of the state should come to their aid and provide these women opportunities to avoid trauma. It is being practiced today in parts of European countries, not to talk of African countries. Our communities in Igbo land must exist and this is the only way. Do you know there are people who marry their blood relatives even in Jewish communities to keep that blood linage going. In the UK, it is rampant with the people of Pakistan and Bangladesh marrying cousins etc. When you ask them, they tell you is been in their culture for centuries and they won’t change because they now live in the UK.

      @cjcj955@cjcj955Ай бұрын
    • So your point is that this practice is okay. Someone dies, and a lady is married against their will to bear children for the dead. While I respect your viewpoint, I totally disagree with you. Who told you those women are okay with the situation? They are not. And the community is not facing alienation persec. Even if I was to agree with you for a second, while will you force a girl to continue to give birth after having 3 kids against her will. This is slavery my friend, and should be stopped

      @DavidNkwa@DavidNkwaАй бұрын
    • @@DavidNkwa if a woman is married and she continues to give birth to 10 kids, will you call that a slavery? No, I never said it is totally okay- what you feel that it is bad might be what works for others in their culture. That’s why you have Muslims, Christians, and others that believe in what ever they think is their beliefs system. You see God is the first person to practice democracy and thus allowed people to live accordingly. You might not see that those communities are going into extinction because you are not from there! If you are from these communities or families where you have only a son and the son dies due to war, I assure you that your parents will take such decisions to secure their ancestral homeland. The practice is their tradition and culture and one’s culture must be respected at all cost, as this is what causes problems and wars among communities and nations. You can’t go to any community and assume that she was forced to marry the dead even after she narrated her ordeals to you, when she was feeling reluctant to agree. In other countries or communities it might not happen but in her community it happens either you agree or not, the dead might make your life uncomfortable as she stated. There are communities in Igbo land today that when a brother dies, the other brother takes over the wife. Which would have happened to this young lady but the late brother stopped his brother from marrying his “supposed betrothed wife”. There is no forcing here against your will, Mazi. It is “culture and tradition” and not forcing. I must also tell you that in your village, there are some practices that you don’t like, but you can’t do anything about it because it is “called Culture and tradition” of your community and have been in existence for centuries. Government of her state is the only solution to make their lives better by providing employment. “Idle mind is devil’s workshop”- that could result to continuous giving birth and taking advantage of them by men and families.
