    • It's the honest sellers reward, when I was selling my 07 WRX, I've described everything and I've provided all of receipts sorted by year, following with the inspection at the buyers choice mechanic. After the inspection, the buyer said that he is buying the car without any negotiation. We are friends to this day and he is consulting with me for the maintenance of the car :)

    • I have an 00 M5 and have done all the work myself in my garage. That includes valve cover gaskets, fuel pump, replaced the ABS module and manifold/pump, replaced the purge valve (deep under the intake manifold, differential bushings, front and rear control arms, bushings and ball joints, thermostat, rebuilt the sunroof which involved removing the entire cassette, E60 545 shifter with UUC selector rod, euro xenon headlights....lots of other misc things. It's crazy when I actually list all of that off. It's a lot of satisfying work. The crappiest job was easily pulling the differential out to do the bushings. I had to buy a very expensive special tool and the rear end is extremely heavy and awkward. I also have a 97 M3 that I recently replaced the engine and clutch along with a lot of other work. Definitely a labor of love. My E90 335xi sits collecting dust as I love my M cars and prefer to drive them.

Easy way to tell the early cars from the LCI facelifted cars - look at the lights. Early front headlights had the finned turn signal covers on either side, LCI went to an exposed, round bulb style. Original headlights had no angel eyes, this came on the LCI facelift cars. Back tail lights used regular bulbs, LCI went to LED's. The cosmetics between early and late cars are very similar - hard to tell difference. Great M5! It doesn't look like this car will give you very much to do, Sreten. Look at that beautiful, big block, Ford Galaxie coupe. Awesome car. The camera doesn't do justice to the sheer size of that behemoth. Look at that trunk. You could fit a family of four in there. It even has its own auto parts store inside. LOL.

  • Aaaah I was so sure it was going to be an E34, but then I remembered you mentioned that you did so much on yours before the whole YT blew up and you would like to work on another one. Makes perfect sense. What a lovely car what a lad Michael and his family are! Legends! The next big announcement better be a larger shed/garage because that is another one you have mentioned a lot (like more than a vegan says he/she is a vegan). Back in 2009 I was really considering an E39 M5 but damn I wish I would have purchased it - it was Silverstone Blue on beige interior. For like 12k euros back then. But I wish you good luck with this project and you can count on us watching every step of it.

  • It would have been really nice to fly there, buy the M5 and then drive back home. I remember this from 12 years back. Me and my father drove to central Germany to buy and pickup a German oldtimer (Adler). We were also greeted and welcomed so nicely, they made dinner and everything. A great experience that really adds to the story of the car and its project. Good luck with this very nice M5, it was in good hands and it remains in good hands.

  • Such a joy you had such a beautiful and successful trip, and what an opportunity for you! Your happiness and excitement wore off and made my day! So much fun to follow along, thanks for bringing it to us! I grew up in the 60’s when those American cars where made, my parents had a 63 Cadillac convertible coupe and 62 olds they bought used. Will never forget the day my mother came home in 1972 with a perfect 1963 Impala SS coupe, such a solid car! Sadly she didn’t get long to enjoy it passing away soon after. Also remember having a huge 1960 Mercury Colony Park “station wagon” as we call them in US. I remember when your current E39 came out and I thought they were beautiful, perfectly proportioned cars and fell in love with them. I wanted one but couldn’t afford it. Looking forward to seeing you work you magic on her!

    • Sadly, far too complicated to do that. I'd need to buy export plates and insurance and for that, it needs to pass Swedish inspection so I'd need to fix it up first. I also wouldn't want to drive it long distance without proper service. In the end, too much time and money would be spent as opposed to simply having it shipped.
