yeah my dad got killed in action in Afghanistan and a couple days late these two soldiers came to my home and told us he was dead and when he came back home I saw three coffin and he was in one so I put the British flag on his coffin. So when i grow up and join the army and if I don't make it alive I want my family to remember me and say "he finished it for his father." And that written on my grave stone.

my grandpa told me the story of when he came home after the veitnam war and he walked in the back door and said "what's for dinner" and his parents didn't know it was him because him and his brother sound the same, after he said that he said he said " I thought you would miss me" then his parents turned around and saw it was him, it is my most favorite story from him

I cry at nearly every video, I'm 24 years old and I can openly admit it. Reason being is that my dad was in the army for all my life and when he was away for 6 months + I remember that warm feeling of him coming home or him turning up surprising me and my little brother. Love your dad because once he's gone you'll never have another one who will love you the same.
I'm a 66 year old man .got to have tissues to watch. And I'm a pretty tough old bird. So heartwarming and happy.

American soldiers are lucky. I remember back in my home country in the 70's I was playing in front of our house when a fishing boat arrived. A skinny malnourished man dressed in rags with strange big eyes came in and walked passed me. We saw each other but his face had no expression and I didn't recognize him at first. But I then realized he was my uncle who was a soldier. He lost so much weight and looked so different. We never knew or asked where he was sent to. I assumed he had seen some war withe the NPA communists. He went inside the house and ransacked the kitchen. Not much luck since it was not meal time and any extra food went to the dogs. Well at least there was half a bowl of rice and he put a spoonful of oil and soy souse and started eating like he has not eaten for years. He was asleep when grandpa grandma and my parents arrived. When he woke up they asked when did he arrived, though they already know from me. They started talking casually as if he just came home from an ordinary job. I didn't remember any celebration or hugging or anything of that sort. And it was also like that with the other soldiers family. Perhaps that generation were just to oblivious to what being a soldier means. Specially when they were labelled as dictator Marcos's puppets.

I'm from Russia! Moscow! Nice to see the kids are happy, wife's, parents, animals to their return home! They are very worried about them when I was in Afghanistan! We have no such, nobody is leaving thank God, all the houses, thank God right now there is no war! Right now more or less gone quiet in the world! May God grant peace to all countries! Except for the terrorists they are pissed off with their terrorist attacks in the United States and in Europe and in Russia! I hope soon they will be gone! All we are at war with them fighting thank God we're in this together! I hope soon all will be friends and this policy and corruption, ever also in the countries she will not disappear, but let it become smaller, and then add fuel to the fire and people living in different countries, some at each other feel bad! The stress these families are under with the constant worry in the back of there minds for many months on end, and the emotional release as they see there loved ones return home safe is just huge. I'm sure no one who hasn't been in that position would truly understand it.
