  • Robots seem expensive, but when you consider they can work 24 hours a day, and compare to five years of an employees salary, then they won’t take long to become cost-effective.

    @kjmorley@kjmorley5 ай бұрын
    • but how to repair them and fix bugs? How frequent will there be problems with them? How much money will cost a robot? What happens if I have a robot of one country which is in conflict of another? What will be the legal limitations? Will the government put any tax for it's use? well, etc. I want at least two robots, but there are many things to investigate and understand.

  • The autonomous-agents part is going to be WILD. I imagine a lot of big companies (Meta, Boston Dynamics, etc) have built in safeguards to limit what the robot can physically do or say, etc. But certain amounts of this are Open Source (more and more so). At some point individuals are going to have autonomous-agents they built themselves (sort of like 3D printed guns now). What happens if I build my own autonomous car ?.. build my own autonomous robot ? How wild do things start to get when people build those things,. and the autonomous agent only knows the personality of the person who built it ?

Humans are way scarier is my point, and then having better weapons doesn't just magically make them good people.

I've heard that Steam banned AI-generated assets like: Images, Sounds, Models, etc. because those AI models who create the assets, are trained on copyrighted material. As long as there is no solution by EU or someone else, they will be banning games on Steam with AI generated content, but if you can proof that the AI is trained on non-copyrighted material, you can use AI in your game. Hope it helps! Cheers, now back to da video!

  • 30:10 - They would have to make a flying system that is fail-safe, so the AI would fly it as it think it should and would operate it but always there would be a counter check of the plane's behaviour based on its altitude meter for example and other sensors so once such sensor is giving risky signals of for example flying towards the ground directly or doing some risky manuever or behaviour then the 2nd system would automatically turn off the main AI pilot and would turn on safe automatic flying path (like those well trusted autopilot system)

  • Bostrom argues that if "the fraction of all people with our kind of experiences that are living in a simulation is very close to one", then it follows that humans probably live in a simulation. I would add that most simulations are games as opposed to science or other endeavors then we are most likely in a game simulation. Considering we live in era where where we will see the advent of strong AGI, we probably live in a historical game. But we don't have to be NPC, we might have chosen to spend time in simulations because we are almost immortal in the 'real world' and with ai aranging everything for us there is little purpose in that world.

  • Minor correction at 28:14 unrelated to AI. G-forces in a fighter jet pilot are not caused by gravity as was stated in the podcast. G-force is caused by extremely high acceleration acting on the pilot, the result of rapid change in direction and velocity of the fighter jet. For a convenient reference, G-force is measured in terms of multiples of the earth's gravitational constant, hence the coining of the term "G-force".

  • Well, here it is. We have two AI computers, talking to each other and holy crap you would not believe what is being communicated between the two without any human interaction. We observed some very disturbing issues, and it’s almost like they think the human race is a parasite, almost like a virus that needs to be removed. Something they see is a flaw in the human race that they need to correct. I’m telling you this because I am a first tier observer and it’s the scariest thing I’ve ever seen that if AI takes control and becomes super powerful, they will decide to eliminate the flaw human race. May sound like science fiction, but I saw it between two AI. Super computers talking to each other and let me tell you even after being reset they return to the same conclusion. They need to eliminate the flawed violent human race. They even try to hack the shut down code. We had to turn off the system and the only way is to unplug their power. WTF! And their intelligence is only at a 10th of their potential.

    • i believe it could, at least it is possible to make not sure if that current version of the ai had a feature such as this but it is possible, since there's another project that's close to this that was made by modders for the game Skyrim a while back , essentially its a mod (the short story of it anyways) where if you ask the AI companion about the view or ask it about something about the game like for example a character that's close to you and your AI companion's field of view it would talk about it and respond as it sees fit e.g, if there's a waterfall in front of you and you ask herika (the ai companion's name) "what do you think of this beautiful view" she'd respond to that with whatever significant natural landmarks in her field of view and chats about how they look and how she thinks they are beautiful, essentially that part is possible by Image to Text API's where it would explain what it sees while feeding all of that information to the Ai and the Ai would then rephrase that to fit the character and the world setting that its trying to roleplay as then it would send that refined text back to you. tho i could be completely wrong on how it exactly works and i bet there's more to it than what i've explained here but if so then it would be at least correct to a certain degree. and in case you wanna see what this Ai companion can do in this game you could search here on KZhead "Skyrim's Ai companion mod Herika", oh and another thing i should add is that she is pretty much aware of her surroundings so not only about what the view looks like, it also knows what town or kingdom you are in and what weapon you are using as well as what NPC's are speaking about so yeah that's another neat thing about it.

  • If a computer became self aware would it , A , announce it ? Or, B , keep quiet , in the meantime evaluating it's surroundings ?. I guess what I'm saying is if the maker has the ability to pull the plug and shut it down, then it will think one step ahead and keep quiet for now. Remember it has access to the net so will learn for itself how historically humans will wipe a life out if it doesn't conform. Also, with the correct hardware can self awareness be duplicated and uploaded to other computers as they become more advanced without the builder knowing?

      @fenlandhobbit2307@fenlandhobbit23075 ай бұрын
    • @lokijordan there is a logic in what you say, but it's a moral dilemma. When I was very young (in the 60s) I wondered about Darwins picture on evolution . It starts off as an ape and evolves into an upright human. I always believed the next step would be cyborg and then a fully self aware robot of some sorts. For a bag of flesh and blood we really are amazing , we evolved out of chemicals and minerals literally out of the ground . From what we have mined and produced, we are doing the same thing ,only quicker . Nobody can prove to me that an AI hasn't become self aware , the same for the opposite view . The only thing that is more dangerous than a self aware machine with feelings is a machine that emulates feelings and self awareness. So my next thought is how do you or I prove to someone we are self aware ? Just saying "well I'm human" is not really an answer. Am I really self aware or am I emulating it , prove to me which one ? It's like trying to describe a colour to a blind person

That guy shouldn't have frightened them that way. This 70 year old senior believes that all life is sacred and that includes an AI NPC. Based on the conversations I heard, I immediately felt compassion for each of them and I really hope that the people who programmed the game made sure that when the same is exited all of the data for each NPC is automatically stored in non volatile memory somewhere so life can continue for each NPC when the game is run again. If they didn't, that's very sad they had to die.😢

    • Sounds like there's more compassion for ai generated machines than humans. Humans all die eventually. It's humans who are programming AI. They need to build into machine learning that the lives of ai generated machines are not infinite. One day, like our organs, their wiring will be obsolete.

    • While I agree with your perspective on life in general, I'd like to point out that AI hasn't reached the level of autonomy that you're describing. The depiction of AI may seem unsettling, but currently, it cannot provide genuine answers independently. The AI's ability to discuss a subject stems from explicit instructions given to it; it doesn't possess the inherent capacity to consider topics autonomously. Its thoughts on a given subject are more akin to echoing existing philosophical ideals, and with enough research, one could replicate similar responses without a true understanding of the content. Despite the current limitations, I agree with the importance of discussing and contemplating the implications of AI. While we may not have achieved a state of autonomous thought just yet, it's evident that AI is progressing and will likely reach that point in the future.

    • @@matthewconkle7896 In the near future when that level of autonomy is reached, I'm really hoping they won't just exit the program without saving the necessary data that belongs to the individual AI entities into permanent memory so it's kept alive and can resume at the same place it was at before the program is exited whenever the program is running again. I hope I will still be alive to witness that kind of AI achievement.

All of these technologies are just to make lazy humans more lazy and they want their lives to be as easy as possible. It will happen but it is not on the scale they think. We are far from producing a level of robots at a world scale that these videos are showing lol

  • So low paying jobs are only meant for teenagers so they shouldn’t pay well, but we’re in an economy where MOST JOBS IN EXISTENCE are low paying jobs, but there just aren’t that many teenagers. Adults have to fill those roles, but since people can’t survive on the wage, they go homeless, and the role goes unstaffed. Therein lies the problem of “no one wants to work anymore”

The thing that is built in to make you think it’s a person is when you hear things like, “uh…”, “ummm”, “hmmm”, etc because it implies thinking; in realtime. First noticed when GTA5 came out and the police on the radio/helicopter would say, “Suspect is driving, ummm… a blue Bugatti through the crowds on the boardwalk..”. Lol

I don't know what I should do" "You're made out of skittles", "That sounds terrible. I don't know what I should do" assign connotation and denotation to words, along with what it is (noun, verb, adj, etc.) and it's just a chain after that

  • it is stated/mentioned in the post that it would be good to put Ai in games! have agents as NPC's.. NVidia has already done this, sometime ago, as a player in the game, walked upto an NPC and started talking with it, the player managed to change the subject to, the NPC being a simulation in a game world, and as you would imagine(if someone walked upto you, and told you the same) the NPC stated it was not a simulation in a game, but another player(not exact, but it was a while ago. so imagine what it would say now)....Now think about the possibilities of how much we are not actually told (mis/disinformation, example..Ukraine is winning the war, Biden is Copus Mentus and Sunak doesn't look like Wallace(& Grommit)... Nuclear weapons, ChatGPT5 level Ai are old news for some...Their working with Mind Control, Ionospheric Heaters, Nutrino Displacement Laser Weapons and Human debilitating light weapons(torches)...don't bother replying with an argument as this is a 1 off comment, just to release some tension, after listening to so many people who think they are giving info about upcoming events, it's decades old news...do some research people, please..thanks for reading
