There is something about her that makes her so likeable.
She's so talented yet no conceit. I think he father is from Bangladesh which explains why I found her a bit different from the typical Russian gymnast. Anyway, the Russian coaches know how to turn talent into something extraordinary. .
@@GenXsinglefree So called typical russian gymnasts all have their own style, and so called typical russians are huge country with over 100 ethnical types , maybe more, I do not remember. We are very open to marry and have children with people from other countries etc. Margarina is special like other special because coaches fell each gymnast unique sides and work on develop them. This is not factory of cheap copies, They are all unique gem and none is better than another. Tehy are so different and so beautiful. Margarita to my humble opinion have very definite lines . Yana has smooth lines. They are both perfect and adorable and so different. It is possible to love differentthings. You do not eat each day the same food. So no limits.
@@alexandramott3181 I know that Russia covers a vast amount of land with many ethnic groups. However, when it comes to gymnastics and particularly rhythmic, Russian athletes have that classic balletic style. Their posture and lines are very similar. The athletes that stand out usually are more creative with the tricks or just have that 'it' personality that comes through when performing.

@@Alexandra_Indina Great coaches recognize the 'it' factor and give those athletes extra attention. Don't say it's not so as you can clearly see it in any gym or playing field in all sports. Creativity is usually the athlete and coach collaboration with both having that mindset. Otherwise, it doesn't work. You may disagree but I'm not nonsensical.
Her routines will forever be remembered. Especially her ribbon and clubs, if you ask me. A true deserving Olympic Champion!
@@patem7379 I agree. There are some routines that are classic in rg like Bessonovas 2008 ribbon. Rita's ribbon and clubs i believe have become classic as well. Of course that doesn't take away from all her beautiful performances.

Araceli •Chely• Mamun didn’t win just “because of someone’s mistake”. Let us be really honest - she won because her performance was better; she won because of her talent, her efforts and strong will. It wasn’t like she got it by chance. She became the champion because she was nearly equally as strong as Yana and in the end - this very day - even stronger. These “because of mistake” comments are stupid as hell!

No question about it. She was brilliant. She had to have known or at least sensed that the gold was there for the taking after Yana had that huge mistake on clubs. Ugh but what pressure. She spent almost four years always behind Yana, who was probably the only girl who could beat her head to head. Everyone expected this to be a formality for Yana to win. What pressure for Rita and she was absolutely brilliant.
She said she had no idea Yana lost clubs. They never watched each others performances. Yana told her about the clubs either after or before the ceremony when the competition was technically over.
To end with the Black Swan and take gold?!? I'm in tears. By far my favorite ribbon routine of all time. Expression, musicality, artistry, EVERYTHING! You just witnessed Magic!
I couldn't agree more. That last routine was beautiful, emotional and breathtaking. It was like the spectacular ending act of a prima ballerina, but at the Olympics... It was just perfect! ❤️

To all those people discrediting her win by saying Yana only lost gold because of her mistake in clubs... handling the pressure is a skill that is important for victory and watching yana's routine it was clear she was too nervous before the music even started. Congrats once again to both ladies mainly Margarita! 😍

Yana made a mistake. Rita didn't. Rita won, which is how it works.
I’d say the qualification scores aren’t necessary an indicator since they may hold back a little to avoid injury (since they know they can qualify anyway). But yes, Mamun won fair and square.

She is Bangladeshi girl but she is living in Russia 🇷🇺
That is wrong. Her father was from Bangladesh but immigrated to Russia when he was young. Rita’s mother is Russian, Rita was born in Russia and always lived and trained only in Russia.
What makes her really stand out is that in every routine it feels like she was feeling every movement, every second and every beat in the music. Her facial expression shows emotions and her body moves accordingly. She did deliver the art of rhythm gymnastics. What a captivating woman!

I saw a documentary about her and if you know that she had to deal with her dad having cancer at the same time and how her disgusting coach told her to think about her dad dying and how she has to pray to god to perfect her posture i am beyond speechless.
Ikr! And people still complaining her gold medal is stolen from Yana , lmao. Yana made a huge mistake on the final and that's it. It's a competition, not a back yard game. If you lose, you lose. And it's so sad Rita's dad passed away the next day she won.

The final boomerang toss of the ribbon right on the accent of the music at the end was the perfect exclamation mark on her Olympics. She worked hard for this and she earned it big time.

THAT.RIBBON... Now that i think about it, the "Black Swan" interpretation was absolutely symbolic... By the way Rita really left her mark in RG with that clubs routine. No one will ever rock Queen the way she did! Charismatic and unforgettable!

Ribbon is definitely her strongest apparatus. She's most dynamic when performing with the ribbon.
That ribbon...oh that ribbon! so special. Perfect, dramatic, olympic ending! It was meant to be golden!
I love her because she proved her head coach wrong. Yana made the mistake not her. She was solid and performed the best that day. Oh, I’m so proud of her. In my personal opinion, I feel like Yana believed (just as Kabaeva did before her) that she had the gold in her pocket and didn’t practice hard enough on some elements. She even said this herself (about not practising her last throw in clubs enough). Whereas Rita had food poisoning when she arrived in Rio and trained later than her competitors and had to train harder. Meanwhile, her head coach was still mocking her during her training (watch her documentary). She did well. I love her personal coach, Amina Zaripova so much as well, she really stood up to Irina, defending Rita and she did so with the right affect at the end. Good on them both.
You got it wrong. Yana trained as hard as Rita, but 2016 was a very difficult year for her as she was recovering from surgery after a serious injury. She didn't have time to train as much as it probably was required to her to feel as much confident as she was during 2014/2015. Yana was really "shaking" during all 2016, making mistakes at the European Championships and also in the OG qualification round, I don't think at all she thought she had "the gold in her pocket", on the contrary she felt scared and nervous because she knew she wasn't at her top form. I'm a big fan of Rita and I rooted for her all the way, but that doesn't mean that Yana did not do as much as Rita did. Also the documentary focus on Rita, but from the little glimpses we see between Yana and Rita we can see that Viner the head coach was harsh toward Yana too, calling her fat when she performed not very well, so don't think that it was only Rita that endured that treatment. The hardest thing for Mamun was having her father on his deathbed while being in Rio, not Viner shouting at her.
@@mysticjc Totally agree! We just got to see Rita being treated harshly, it doesn't mean Yana wasn't! Also, even though I was a gymnast myself and understand the need for tough love from your couch to succeed, it really seemed terribly of Viner when she told Rita to think of her sick father to channel needed emotion for performance (for competion in Sochi, Russia).
@@aless.andra9620 I indeed agree it was harsh from Viner to use such words, but I think I got a explanation for it too. As you may already know, Zaripova and Viner often talked in these years how Rita was a very private person, who never let them see her cry or express her sorrows and they as coaches kinda saw that as a problem, because you know that when you shut in your emotions and stay silent about them it's not like your emotions go away, on the contrary they may come out at the worse time. So, I think Irina Viner was very worried about Rita and even if she admired her will to show her strenght and not talk about her father dying during that delicate time, she didn't want Mamun to not approach that topic at all so she used maybe an harsh method to communicate to her that she needed to show her emotions, if not with words at least with her performances, otherwise she was going to fail because it was obviously too much to handle at one time (Olympics pression + grief). And I think Rita got angry at that time hearing those words, you can see her she was very pissed, but I think that was exactly what Viner wanted, because anger was a much better emotion than trying to appear indifferent. I admire Rita for her strenght, it was indeed a though choice to go to Rio one month prior with the knowledge that you may not see your father again, and I think Viner admired her too for that, it is one thing to try to focus on yourself and your work for the Olympics and it is another trying to do that while your mind is full of oppressive thoughts about your family. That's probably why RIta was sick the first days she arrived in Rio, with nausea and such, because the stress of all of it was really too much. So in conclusion I think Irina was super tough with her because she wanted Mamun to have a reaction, may it be anger toward her or actual sadness for her father, or grief, whatever, because that was better than running away from her emotions for fear of losing it. And it actually worked in the end, the best conclusion for this sad-ish story: Rita winning the gold and make it back in time to say goodbye to her father, who actually died after experiencing such joy. And of course Rita doesn't have any bad feelings toward Irina, she understood what happened back then.
@@mysticjc I agree that anger was the reaction Viner was hoping to cause (and she did), but for someone so gentle and introverted like Rita, it could have gone in the direction of nervous breakdown and tears. When Zaripova asked Rita whether she's mad at Viner after the round of shooting, she said no - just frustrated - which for me personally is emotion which often get borderline sadness. Thanks for your amazing response! I'm glad somebody is as passionate about Rita as a person as I am! I watched her documentary this week, and it helped me to get myself back together for final week of tests - just seen Rita so stoic and composed in the extreme stress.
mysticjc I agree they wanted Rita to show emotion but some of the insults were unnecessary and didn’t relate to her performance. Sometimes Irina would take it too far. I’ve seen how Irina spoke to Aleksandra Soldatova when she got 4th place in the Russian Grand Prix, around 2017 I believe (I could be wrong). Completely different, she was more calm and never made it personal. Then again, Aleksandra is one of her favourites. As for Yana, I never said she didn’t train but certain parts of her routine she didn’t train harder on. She’s actually said this. She said “I should have worked harder on the last throw and if I could go back, I would have concentrated on that more”. No one saying she didn’t work hard, she obviously did but I personally feel like she slacked a little because she was constantly praised and compared to her rival as the greater out of the two. Irina already had it in her mind that Rita was second to Yana and told Rita this. During training, Rita got very frustrated and walked off the carpet. Yes, her dad’s illness was on her mind, heavily, but you could tell she was also overwhelmed with the competition and Irina didn’t help. In the long run, she appreciated Irina’s harshness but at the time it must’ve been very difficult. These are the times my comment is concentrating on.
Such a relieving video after having seen Over The Limit. Everyone who has seen that documentary knows Rita deserved nothing but gold. Thank you for the upload, she's a wonder!
they all deserves gold, they work the same hard. Simply somebody are more lucky somebody not, somebody suffer from injuries at that moment , somebody on the top of thier phisical form, and nerve system condition of corse. Mamun is so strong well consentrated soldier. Iron girl.

Не считаю себя специалистом, но только смотрела выступления Евгении Канаевой и была в полном восторге... Теперь смотрю на Маргариту Мамун и считаю, что это вообще Совершенство.
I watched the Documentary, Over the Limit 1st before watching this... I literally cried. To see her kill every single performance after her head coach talked to her so horribly everyday amazed me! Rita, I’m so sorry for your dad passing! For u to win gold before he passed warms my heart. You’re truly beautiful❤️

Только Маргарита может так чувствовать музыку. Она танцовщица. Все движения, пластика рук, связки элементов - так точно соответствуют музыке и передаваемому образу. Не хотела, чтобы выступление с лентой заканчивалось. Бесподобно! До слез.

Зачем вы так обесцениваете труды девочек Гимнастки Ирины Винер лучшие во всём мире. Сестры Аверины и Лала Крамаренко показывают лучшие результаты, великолепное исполнение. И не забывайте что правила меняются, тогда Рита с Яной выступали по одним правилам, а сейчас уже успело всё поменятся

@@user-qn3qh2ue6y посмотрите Интервью Риты которое вышло вчера и всё поймете. А именно, что психологическая подготовка очень сильно играет роль, Рита на своих ошибках училась, а Яна, увы, не смогла, и осталась Кудрявцева как достойная соперница, но не олимпийская чемпионка

After watching "Over The Limit" movie, this feels different. The hoop routine is out of this world! Ball routine is so gentle. All programs are so great!
The ribbon-the way the music is aligned with the choreography is amazing, so musical. The ball routine was breathtaking too. Watching this after the Tokyo individual all-round, I feel sad that the quality has declined so much (I mean not only Linoy, but all the contestants). They cannot compare to Yana or Margarita.
That ribbon ending was the perfect ending of her olympic journey 😍

she competed in this with the immense pressure: its the olympics, an overbearing coach, a a dying father who succumbed two days after she won. when you are faced with so much difficulty in life, remember this girl so she may inspire you to be brave in the midst of adversity.

This is such a treat after watching Tokyo Olympic’s rhythmic gymnasts.
I really liked how Margarita moves the hoop in so many different angles and trajectories especially in spinning them around parts of her body, that's very exciting to watch because it's very risky for falling or going flat and looking bad. Many of the top gymnasts only have horizontal or side spins or swings that are less risky. She also choreographs her movements so well to interpret the music. Her mastery of the ribbon is so apparent. Whilst lots of others are laboring to make the conventional same sized waves or big waves or trying to keep the ribbon from dragging on the ground through transitions, our girl is making an incredible range of variations such as small waves within bigger waves just to match one or two notes or rise in tempo to the music. It's an incredible virtuoso performance!
I love her. She's one of those whose beauty on the inside shines out as bright as the northern lights.

После ленты Авериной пришла смотреть. И о Боже, какая красота. Плевать кто победил в этом году, потому что все равно такого уровня у нас нет!
А я ещё Канаеву пересмотрел с ОИ2012, это просто небо и земля, прям до мурашек, вот где ХГ, вот где красота, артистизм, грация, сложность! Деградация ХГ заметна невооружённым глазом, даже сравнивать не хочется и ставить в один ряд нынешнюю чемпионку с Канаевой/Мамун, не говоря уже про Кабаеву. Просто парадокс какой-то: другие виды спорта усложняются и только ХГ движется в обратном направлении, скоро придём к тому, что гимнастки просто будут показывать утреннюю зарядку...

@@user-xh1kx1dg3k посмотрела. Период Канаевой я пропустила в своё время. Захватывает дыхание, столько деталей и невероятная сложность в работе с предметом. Надеюсь, что вскоре Авериным на замену придут новые талантливые и харизматичные девочки, которые не дадут усомниться в их таланте при любых обстоятельствах, даже при проигрыше.

@@maninja. Да! Кудрявцева, Солдатова, Мамун, Канаева- это и есть тот синтез искусства со спортом, красота со сложностью, к которому стремятся в международной федерации ХГ. Не знаю для чего они меняют правила, для чего упрощают ХГ, но было всё идеально, такого уровня сейчас просто нет, при всей симпатии к сёстрам Авериным, но такая ХГ мне не нравится, много лишних движений, много танцевальных вставок, мало сложных элементов тела. Ну а Чащина- это конечно восторг!
Mamun will forever be my favorite Russian gymnast because she brought something more than her team members, she brought poetry to the carpet and that can not be said about the others that came after. I don't deny their talent, but Margarita knew how to turn her emotions which usually overwhelmed her into a beautiful and precise performance.
they all about poetry and they all are so unique and special...You do deny their talent. Not good. You need to develop your tastes of artistry and do not put limits.
I agree with you and disagree with Alexandra. Rita was special because her routines were not necessarily better than those of the other great gymnasts but they expressed more. Rita is a shy girl but in her routines you feel her emotions, it's very intense. The Averinas do very difficult routines but on an emotional level they're nihil. Sasha is more similar to Rita but she needs to work on her precision.

Уникальные программы!Такую гимнастику потеряли!Сколько эмоций, чувств!Красота!А сейчас , что, ничего, одна голая техника , Солдатова,ещё держится , после нее , просто куколки, хорошо выученные, одинаковые и без лишних эмоций.Аверины просто технари.Рита- ярчайшая звезда, которую будут изучать и смотреть!
Тоже современные программы скучно смотреть((( Авериных люблю и уважаю, они большие умнички, но все очень сухо... Хотя это не вина спортсменок, такие правила и чтобы выигрывать нужны такие гимнастки, но шедевров на ковре, как у Риты - уже нет((((
