12:19 Sorry guys, but Mat's review of the Ford Puma isn't live... yet! But you'll be seeing it soon! Either way, let us know - would you choose the 2008 over the new Puma?!
No!
Ok That's fine
2008 hands down
carwow do Mercedes E63S vs GT63S 4dr
Puma
Ok, Peugeot needs to make another RCZ with their current interiors and exterior design
I honestly forgot it existed
YES
The rcz looks beautifull even with the old design. Especially that sloping glass roof. Damn i get hard even thinking about that roof
Will never happen, the RCZ was a low production model, low PSA need to concentrate on hybrid and electric vehicles to br competitive and not coupe's (I have 2 so ive got my fix 😄).
but mostly, a better and more exciting engine.
Peugot ups their game everytime. Looks so beautiful.
It is a great-looking thing!

Is this as good as a Duster?

I watched this review and took Matt's advice and bought one. The finish is just not like Peugeot of old its really beautifully made and very solid -more Audi standards than Peugeot amazingly. Driving it feels quite special somehow -more than the sum of parts. Have put all-season tyres on it and it goes through the recent snow without noticing -its a great vehicle !
I hired one last month. The auto brake and lane assist saved me a couple of times.
I hired the same car and the same exact color a week ago. It’s a nice and very good looking car, but there’s no light on the back seats, and the front seats lights are very week.
I pick mine up next week, 130 bhp allure premium
If its the 1.2 puretech get rid before the end of warranty. Huge issues with the engine. As a result I had to sell my citroen after being advised that it would need a new engine.
So far, 5 years of trouble-free motoring from my 2008. Not a single fault. 1.6 e-HDI automatic....a great engine. 60MPG combined. Amazing.
These French car companies are now killing it with the design. I thought Mat wouldn't like it because it doesn't have the BMW idrive system.
Johnson I agree but you’ve still got the “f”word in the sentence.
French design is wow !
Matt actually prefers Mercedes system now than bmws
Are they reliable? I haven't owned one and I have an interest in them.
Youre Gonna Need a Bigger Boat BMW And Mercedes don’t copy eachother ... their designs look nothing like each other
Ive watched this review at least 10 times. I was looking for a new, reliable family car for some time and finally I bought that 2008 (not trough Carwow) 130hp manuel. I paid the car right away and it felt weird to spend so much money at once but I think it is worth it. What Im trying to say is: Mat's reviews are spot on. This vehicle puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Thanks !
Hello mate, can the 2008's rear seats accommodate my 15 yr old son, 9 yr old daughter and my 70 yr old Father(slim build height 5ft 7) ? Or do I HAVE TO go for the 3008 do you think? Boot space is not a big deal for me.
@@kkrisshh I'm not any car expert, sir. I have very really more than 2 passengers in the car. If you ask for my suggestion, I'd recommend you try both cars if possible. Back seats space was never someone i consider. I wish you best of luck in your choice . All the best 🖖🏼
@@KidTempered thanks for replying to my comment. Yeah I will eventually test drive both. Cheers.

Peugeot is really killing it with car styling right now. Amazing.
I like it when Carwow review less known cars Like ppl don’t look at this car as a car they’d buy but you guys r proving them wrong Keep it up
Thanks!
carwow thx for responding
Dude whatever u said is absolutely correct... Good question
I meant good comment
Is it really less known? I would say Peugeot is on par with Renault, Opel, Ford,... in my country
After watching many reviews on the new 2008 I placed an order 6 months ago. Collected my new GT petrol a few weeks and absolutely love it. Matt's review is spot on. Brilliant build quality, comfortable ride, and the best looking car in this segment. Now that the early cam belt issues have been resolved I can highly recommend.
you can tell Peugeot are on a roll and making really good cars, as every car so far car wow has recommended to buy

@dr.q very indepth person you are .
they are killing it with the design.
Aye carwow, just want to let you know i love matwatson. He's like the best car reviewer!.
He'll do ;)
I agree
I’m based in South Africa and I’m going to buy it. Sporty look enough for me and functional enough practical enough as well. Thank you for your very thorough review Mat.
The French are pumping out some really good cars! The design and interior alone of this and it's little brother, the 208, is very impressive.
Mat, the reason the rear windows don’t go all the way down on some vehicles is because of the wheel well. If you don’t have the wheel well sticking into the door the window can drop. Or if you put a fixed piece of glass to the rear and have a smaller opening. Then you have a fixed window in the way too. Design over function at it’s finest. Enjoy your reviews!!! Hi from California.
Yep. This changed my mind as well.
we need a review of the new clio and captur
bojan pislevski yes that’s true
Peugeot are on it at the moment. Saw a 208 GT Line the other day, superb looking small car.
This reminds me of top gear's last review of a Peugeot and how they showed the potential of this manufacturer! Looks like some one has had a design meeting in Paris and decided to create magnificent outputs again! Love the way this is designed!
Gilles Vidal is designer who has godlike status in auto industry, he designed all new Pugs and they sacked him last year, now Renault has three leading car designers of the world Vidal,Acker and Carrasco!
@@dado380 They didn't sack him, he resigned.
Definitely PEUGEOT people have a TIME MACHINE which they used to bring so futuristic models in present.
Just hired one for 4 days and have mixed feelings. It's lovely to drive and I was very happy with it but there's more understeer than I'm used to(Fiesta owner). Rear camera is absolutely fab, way way better than my Ford. Some ergonomic design issues though 1) It's really hard to engage the seat belt as it's squeezed between the centre console and the seat 2) cup holders are way too shallow. I was constantly catching stuff with my arm when changing gear 3) Window controls on driver's door are designed for somebody with T rex arms. I'm only average but even with your elbow banging against the seat back you can't reach all the buttons without bending your wrist 90 degrees or lifting your elbow. 4) The main collection of control buttons in the centre look a bit strange (personal view) but are also positioned horizontally. Would have expected them to be angled either downwards or slightly towards the driver. It's a lovely car but I think the ergonomic issues would wind me up after a while
I hired the same car and the same exact color a week ago. It’s a nice and very good looking car, but there’s no light on the back seats, and the front seats lights are very week.
You’re honestly one of the best car reviewers on KZhead. I enjoy your review so much. All the way from South Africa 🇿🇦

Had a 3008 and 5008 the past 5 years, and both these cars were not just great to look at, but overall drive and comfort levels were extremely good. Not a single issue either
Kinda bad in snow tho.
Which one better 3008 0r 2008 ?
@@music_lyrics No idea, I would make the decision mainly on what size car you need. I did hear the 2008 is not as good quality wise as the 3008, but please check reviews

Yeah, Peugeot, Kia, Hyundai have really stepped up their game
And VW and BMW have gone down imo

Another great review Matt. I purchased my Peugeot 3008 GT line after watching your review on that vehicle and love it. Had the car 18 months and it’s been a dream to own. I’m really interested in the 508 PSE hybrid that is due out later this year. Can’t wait for you to review that. Supposed to have 400bhp with combined petrol and electric engines.
Just curious @leemason666 How's your experience with 3008. Am Planning to buy one 😊
I have this car GT version. Highly recommend. Have owned it for a year and I still get compliments about it
7 inch or 10 inch navi? Orderet the gt but im afraid i have the 7 inch navi without maps

I always take issue with criticism of the "cheap and plastic feeling pieces" on the interior of a car. It depends on where they are. Those pieces are designed and put in places to be rugged and durable and inexpensive to replace. They'll get kicked and scraped a lot. Obviously there are some cost saving measures in many cases, but padded soft touch materials in certain areas will be ruined in no time if they're put in high wear areas.
Agreed, they're just nit picking.
I’ve been interested in getting the 2023 Peugeot 2008 for a few weeks now, that said,my head has been turned by the 2023 kia sportage, sadly as I’m completely housebound (hence why my husband/carer is now going for his licence,he actually passed his theory test 2days ago first time and without a single lesson,im so proud of him) due to chronic spinal injuries so video reviews are the only way that I can get a good idea of the vehicle as a whole and the different features etc,so thank you CarWow for this video I really appreciate it and it does help a lot
Wowcarwow another great review mat. .& all those behind the scenes @ carwow 👍
This week I saw a 2008 in real life and couldn't stop staring at that beautiful thing. The Renault Captur feels like a joke compared to it. The last time I stared that much at something it was a beautiful lady with a big tight rear bumper :p The french are rocking it with their beautiful designs (specially PSA brands) and we definitely need Matt's reviews of the brand new DS4 and the Peugeot 308. Also a review of the low cost brand new Dacia Sandero is needed !
@@S-A-M. I would dare to say that Renaults are the french version of Volkswagen. They're boring but still good to drive and definitely give you a lot for your money.
Who ever designs these Peugeot’s needs a pay rise
Gilles Vidal
Not anymore since this summer. He just quit Peugeot for .... Renault. He was the father of the rebirth of Peugeot with the 308, 508, 208, 3008,5008. Great job.

Got a new 2008 gt line with all the extras 9th of March not had much chance to get out and about because of the lock down but love the look of the car inside and out and look forward to the day when I can actually give it a good run out
Brilliant review 👍🏼 Seriously tempting... now where can I go to find out which dealer has the best offers...!!!???
I want this car in the future, well played Matt
Lazar Vasilev Test drive it! The old one had horrible suspension (unless the super soft 3008) and was no fun to drive
I had a 2016 308 gt line and loved it, traded that for a 2018 308 gt line then traded that for a 2020 2008 gt line and absolutely love it. Really comfortable ride while still keeping great handling. The 3D iCockpit is a master stroke from the boffins at Peugeot. I would definitely recommend a new 2008 to anybody looking at a compact SUV

I bought this car week ago after watching your review. Nice looking car and is fun to drive. Thanks mate 👍
How is it after a year of using does it require a lot
Hi Mat, Love watching your car reviews. Could you please tell us the best engine choice (Petrol) ?
100% agree with your verdict. I need one. Awesome review (as always).
I will say the Peugeot interiors are well up there. But I drove the 3008 two and a half years ago. It was stunning inside, but every engine in the range was abysmal. Up my local hill, a few miles from the dealership, the automatic shuffled back and forth as it couldn’t decide which gear to use. Woefully underpowered. Let’s hope they’ve improved that aspect of the vehicle.
I honestly love this channel man, Matt is just brill at everything
Without doubt your the best person[ Matt Watson ] on the web at car reviews , clear and precise opinions with a brilliant sense of humour.
Thanks Mat! Love your videos!
I really like the back of the car! FINALLY someone does a real difference with the back!
I used to laugh at Peugeot but now if I was able to afford it, I would purchase one and ship it to the states. LOVE what they are doing! Thumbs up to Peugeot and to this review channel.

Great review mat, as usual 👍😎. But when you will consider reviewing the new Clio ? 🤓
Great video mate as usual :-) Tell me something about the panoramic roof. Is it small or large? Does it open like in the Tucson and Sportage? Does it close electrically? Last but not the least, Is this value for money when compared to the Tucson, Qashqai or Sportage 2022?
Can you review the electric e-2008 please. Thank you.
I love peugeot design nowadays especially the 508
Hi Matt l, we are purchasing the new 2022 2008 gt as we were looking for a new car which was a downsize from our Xtrail. Your reviews really helped us make our decision
The small glovebox is because they don't move the fuse box to the other side when they change it to right-hand drive, on the left-hand drive model it would be neatly tucked beside the steering wheel and there would be a full-size glovebox.
Picked up my 2008 1.2 pt130 GT Line, Pearlescent White yesterday. So far done 11 trouble free miles! Waiting for Boris to let me go out & drive it. The car itself looks fantastic both inside & out. The infotainment system looks complicated, but when you actually use it, it is fairly straightforward and intuitive. A feature rarely mentioned in the reviews is the voice control. You can use it to navigate, change radio stations, play music files and alter heating settings that I have come across so far. Perhaps not as slick or comprehensive as Mercedes MBUX but it does the job ok. This is my third 2008 and on first impressions this one is a quantum leap ahead of the previous version. I just need to be able to get out and actually drive it somewhere!!
Usually French cars manage the first 11 miles trouble free
JB London you don’t start getting into any real problems till about 25 miles August 14, 2020 9:25 pm
How's the reliability been ?
I laernt from reliablity car rankings that this is is quite unreliable, may I know of your your experience thoroughly?
@@kenyon516 This is the 3rd 2008 I have had since the original in October 2013. All of them have been utterly reliable, I get them serviced every year and there have been no issues at all. There was a recall on the first car for something to do with rear seatbelts. My daughter now runs my 2nd facelift model and it has been trouble free also. Apart from new tyres and brake pads on the front just the usual wear and tear items. I can say that I have been completely satisfied with all three 2008's I have had. They are comfortable, roomy and economical. I have only done 7000 miles since buying the latest car in 2020 but it too has been totally reliable. From my own experience of these cars I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone thinking of buying. This new model is a completely different car, larger, quieter and more space inside, with a lot more tech. The voice control is far better, though can't match Mercedes, but who can! Hope this answers your query, a very reliable car.
It's a beautiful car .... For what others have on offer, this Peugeot 2008 and the new Renault Captur both are brilliant
I’ve just got back from Portugal where I’ve had a bog standard one of these as a hire car, and it was fantastic. Worthwhile, inoffensively decent car, miles better than any Juke or Captur. As for a Ford Puma, I’ve not driven one, but it’s probably more close run than I’d expect.
I've got one as a hire car at the moment, awesome drive, lovely car. Not sure it's got the space to be a family suv, but I'd definitely have one 👌🏻
I've seen a lot more Peugeot cars on the road in the last couple of years, Brilliant designs, Fantastic job Peugeot...
5:52 There is no "Mat's pick" in the description!
Hi!. I have been enjoying your car reviews as i try to decide between Renault Captur, Peugeot 2008, Mazda CX-5, and Volvo XC-40. My price range seems to lean more towards the Peugeot and Captur. I sat in the Captur today and while it was very comfortable and looked great, it felt a bit cramped. I have not yet sat in the others. Can you please tell me if I should expect to feel more room inside the other 3? Thanks and Happy New Year!
Carwow and quarantine, best combination ever!😍😷😏
U should do a review of Peugeot 508 sw
I had a short list of small SUV's that I was interested in and after test driving where I could and looking at all the reviews possible I came to the conclusion that the 2008 was the best of the current line ups, this review went a long way to making that choice and watching the same reviewer testing all the cars on my list really helped get a consistent view. I took delivery of a Vertigo Blue GT Line a couple of weeks ago and all I can say is Mat got it spot on, this car is punching above it's price range and compared to the VW's the quality of finish is far Superior. I originally looked for brand new but got a deal on a pre-registered 20 plate with 10 miles on the clock for £6k under list price, I think I got a bargain for the money.
Howdy, great review as always! This is a nice car!😸
Got it as a replacement video and yes, it feels great. Got the diesel model and it feels more than 100hp. Bags of torque (not gonna blow your mind) but very decent. I would own one of these no problem. Feels like a much more expensive car and it doesnt drift bad either with those massive tires
An amazing car, personally I would choose the 208 over 2008 but that's just personal preference! Great Job Peugeot! Can't wait for the new 308
