Dayo should be in the Arsenal PR department for his ability to spin facts. Arsenal bottled last season by every fair and objective measurement one can use. They were top of the league for 93% of the total season *249 days), had an 8 point advantage over City with about 8 games to and ended up losing the league by 5 points and with the exception of City, were smashing nearly every team they were playing throughout the whole season. Even IF we chalk off the City game that was in hand, that is still a 10 point swing and the games that cost them the season were very poor teams and relegation-bound Southampton. Is Dayo honestly trying to say that Arsenal could not beat Southampton without Saliba? That their incredible offense could not outscore West Ham or Southampton because Saliba wasn't there? If you believe that, I'd like to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge FFS. Just own the fact that it was a bottle job. Learn from it and move forward. City bottled the RM game in the semi finals 2 seasons ago at RM. It was a massive bottle job - being up by 2 goals on aggregate going into the 89th min only to concede 2 goals in less than 2 min then go into extra time and have Dias lose his head, concede a pen and game over. We had the CL final in our hands and for whatever the reason, the whole team lost its mind and collapsed. It happens. Arsenal's team mentally collapsed in the final stretch of the season and especially against WH and Southampton while they were still top. Remember, Arsenal did the same the season before bottling the top 4. Guess what? They learned from it and didnt bottle the top 4 the following season, the bottled the league, but they still progressed. IF City win it, Arsenal didn't bottle it. They went down to the wire and lost it my the narrowest of margin (assuming they don't collapse in their remaining 4 games which i cannot see happening). If the same happens to City, same thing then...they went to the very end and lost by the finest of margins (assuming City don't collapse in their 5 remaining games). Of course if City loses, I will attribute it to Pep's inability to adapt his tactics by refusing to drop his insanely high line which has caused so many problems defensively and, I would argue, when played in conjunction with slow buildup against a low block team, it also sucks the space out of the opposition box for Haaland, thereby rendering him nearly useless regardless of how good or bad the opp defense is.

Mo keeps talking about recency bias but he forgot recency bias on odegaard at the start of the season. He keeps saying what has Odegaard led Arsenal to, but Maddison is 27 turning 28, hasn’t played in the champions league. Bottled champions league with Leicester, bottling it with spurs, got relegated, has been very inconsistent even in his good season. If people never watched Maddison and listened to only Mo they’d think Madders is some consistent world class player
