  • Grealish was a key player for the city treble. Started week in week out, legit averaged 7/10 minimum almost all games. Holy fuck the goldfish memory in this panel 😂

Stat merchants and agenda accounts on twitter really blind people’s perception on players, ruined the beautiful game 🥲

  • I agree with Mo. Nobody will remember Grealish, Bernardo Silva in 10 years as a stand out players as Kaka, Seedorf, Pirlo for example. Everybody will remember great Pep's City team only and trophies. English top team fans care too much only on trophy winning, they don't care about players and their legacy. Legacy is build only as getting more trophies, not being stand out players.

  • I think you really dont know how pep does things. Pep never asked players to keep on passing. He only teach them to work in a structure position until the 1/3 of the opponent position. There are few tactic will be implement in case there need a goal or tight game. But in normal game, player can play at any way they want but player still need in the position they need when they need to. This is so that, some space can be covered when being countered. This is why, if wing back going up, winger will not go up instead position them a bit lower. Pep once said this in an interview. He likes John stone not only because his defensive set but because he is brave going forward. Pep likes people take risks. This is why he did not alag akanji off when he try dribble forward in real madrid game even when he lost a lot of ball. Jack Grealish also says in an interview that he beed to be more braver on ball. The only thing that Pep want the players to think more and do things on the best judgment. That is why Pep angry when player did not think before doing things. As for Grealish role. Pep have talked in an interview that Grealish is bought to control tempo. He say, when a team attacking too much, player will become complacent and more prone to counter. That is why he want players who can slow the game down. Deco also being bought for that at Barcelona. His job is not to only pass back but hold the ball and pull players off position. The reason why he did not go in is because there is no option to pass forward. When Bernardo playing at CM, the movement changed. When Bernardo move and cover his position, he going to middle and play the ball. Pep never asked players to be constructive. Pep asked the player to think. This is why a lot of players who like to play direct don't like to play for Pep. But sometimes fast game need to be slow down with extra pass. Leroy Sane in an interview last season said that because they play quite direct, the tempo is too fast and they seems to get countered and some winning game end up losing. He say, now when he is older, he understand why Pep teach him to slow the game down.

  • I somewhat agree w Mo, Grealish hasn’t been used to his full abilities under Pep’s system. Jack simply isn’t a winger imo, his strengths are best expressed when he has a free role as a midfielder, but unfortunately for him, at City there has always been better quality players ahead of him that can play in the midfield. That’s why personally I was extremely surprised when we were initially linked with him from Aston Villa. For me the only time to play Grealish as a winger is for containment of games, especially when the team as winning and needs to control the possession of the ball. Because imo as a winger you must contribute w goals and assists, which Grealish simply doesn’t have in his game, especially from wide positions in which Pep has been using him. As much as I’m not a huge fan of Grealish, he does get into good positions quite often, but the final product doesn’t come natural for him, and Pep knows that quite well, that’s why he’s making him play safe passes instead(which I’m not a big fan of tbh), plus his defensive work is a huge bonus to his game. The most criticism for Jack imo stems from his ridiculously high price tag that we paid at that time. For me, even if we paid half of that for him at that time, it would still be too high imo.

  • One thing that I didn’t hear mentioned is the fact that Jesus is the 2nd highest paid player at ARS in terms of wages… this is a big consideration. For me, he’s best on the wing as Saka’s backup. I really like him, but if you told me tomorrow I am guaranteed to have Olise if we sell Jesus, I would have to thank him for his service and move on:.. Jesus wages are just too high right now to justify, especially when we have others we need to get and keep

I think we will see Arsenal selling well this summer again. The last worse sell of old regime players will be Tierney, but just because he is not good enough even in Sociedad. Even if we sell Zinchenko, Arsenal will get spent money back, while nobody will pay for Tierney more than 10M.

Every season fans of liverpool, arsenal, united and Chelsea bragging about making more revenue than city, city has no fans, their players are the best in every position, klopp is better than pep, yet only pep is the only one dominating. It can’t just be about money. Chelsea & united are the perfect example of the money argument being outdated. It has to be more than that. Manchester City, Pep and the owner deserves more respect Rivals fans should hold their teams & owners accountable instead of making excuses for them failing miserably season after season. • If you think City are so boring.. maybe its because City face a low block almost every game? When teams open up its more entertaining. (this is not me ripping a low block, its a perfectly valid way to play against City... and clearly it works for teams with high quality players... but 11 in the box is not fun to watch) The game at Stamford Bridge, away at the Bernabeau, and recently at Brighton.. were those boring games?? Not sure if it was you.. but in the past I heard someone say City are boring to watch due to the jeopardy being eliminated in the vast majority of the games they play..... (since they are favored to/win most of the games they play) The top 6/Big 6 owners are all very very wealthy. FSG are worth multiple billions, and Arsenal's owners are flush with Walmart/oil money (look up who Kroneke is married to, and he also owns over 1000 oil wells in the US) United's new part owner is worth more than Sheikh Mansour is. They can spend a lot money if they want to. They choose not to (or in some cases aren't allowed to)

    • I dont think Jack has been a huge disappointment, but he certainly is not what I expected. Compared to the chaos that Doku brings (once he sharpens hes decision making and end product, he will be something special) Jack is cool calm and collected, but so incredibly frustrating - i think he is terrified to risk losing the ball unless he knows he can score. Hence, why nearly all of his shots at goal are misses, GK blocks or defender blocks and probably why he passes back all the time. He is certainly capable of more and to your point, Pep came out several times last season saying that he wants more end product in GA from Jack, and yet he has not delivered on that, so maybe his time is running out? This idea that Pep doesnt want Jack to focus on GA is patently false, and as much as I like Martin, I think that is nothing more than excuse. Can you imagine any manager saying they want control on the ball and don't really care about GA from a winger? Absolutely not. Why? Because having such a winger relative to other wingers who can do both would put your team at a disadvantage, and I cannot see Pep purposely wanting that. Then again, he doesn't have the personnel to properly recover and execute his high line system this season (as the stats prove out) and he continues risking it even though one could make the very valid argument that his high line cost us in the CL vs RM...
