Attorney Mark Ball, a friend of Alex Murdaugh, testified to what he saw when he went to the crime scene on the night of the murders. He said Murdaugh told him multiple times he did not go to the kennels on the night of the killing.

The fact that Alex felt "safe" on the darkened property after finding his son and wife dead is very telling. I'd have been terrified, in shock and want to have a form of security near me at all, a law enforcement officer with a firearm. Alex knew no one else was on the property, he said so yesterday on the stand when he was asked if the dogs were acting strange before or after the murders and he stated "No, the dogs weren't acting off, no one else was there. No one." 😳😬😳

FOR PEOPLE WHO THINK PAUL WAS A WONDERFUL PERSON: It is said that one should never speak ill of the dead, but I’m confused how so many adults who knew Paul have testified that Paul was such a great person, while many young people his own age talk about how often he was intoxicated, belligerent and abusive. His friends say that when he was intoxicated, Paul became another person entirely when he drinks-becoming abusive, belligerent and mean-and they had given this ugly person he becomes a name: “Timmy.” Paul and Morgan Doughty began dating in their junior year of high school and were together about four years. She said he became abusive in their relationship when he was intoxicated, physically and verbally. And he was intoxicated a lot. And Alex and Maggie knew it, as they even served Paul and his equally underage friends alcohol in their home, according to his girlfriend, Morgan Doughty. The first time he was abusive, she said they had gone to Buster’s graduation and ended up in an argument in their hotel room when Paul began kicking her. She told him to stop and he then jumped on top of her, holding her down and started choking her and yelled, “SHUT UP!!!” Then he hit her hard on her leg. Then, on December 25, 2017, they were leaving a party and because he was very drunk she was driving them home in his truck when suddenly he belligerently demanded that he drive instead. As he drove, he began swerving and driving erratically and the truck subsequently crashed and landed in a ditch. She said she got out her phone to call 9-1-1 and he knocked it out of her hand and grabbed it and hit her. He then called his grandfather. Soon, grandfather Randolph, father Alex and mother Maggie all arrived and they began clearing out all the guns and beer cans out of the truck before they then call 9-1-1. Morgan was yelled at for almost dialing 9-1-1 because they said it would have gotten Paul in trouble. Then, on February 23, 2019, Paul invited Morgan, and friend Anthony Cook and his girlfriend Mallory Beach, and friend Connor Cook and his girlfriend Miley Altman to all go out on his fathers boat. Using his brother Buster’s ID card and his mother Maggie’s credit card, Paul went to a store and illegally bought lots of beer for the boat ride for all six underage teenagers. They traveled by boat to an oyster roast, where they stayed awhile, eating and drinking quantities of beer and going back to the boat to get more beer. Then all six got back in the boat. The girls wanted to go home, but Paul insisted on driving the boat to a bar to do some more drinking. Paul became very drunk there, and after they got back in the boat Paul started driving the boat erratically, going very fast, weaving back and forth, and going in circles. Every so often, Paul would let go of the wheel, scaring everyone, and Conner would grab the wheel to steer straight. Morgan got upset, so Paul went over to her and called her a whore and slapped her and spit on her. Then Paul took off all his clothes except his briefs underwear. After awhile he drove fast toward a bridge and crashed the boat into some pilings at the base of the bridge. Upon impact all six people were thrown out of the boat and only five were able to swim to shore. No one could find Mallory though. Again, Paul first called his grandfather, Randolph, and once again, Randolph, Alex and Maggie showed up before the 9-1-1 responders arrived-to head off trouble for Paul. They headed off authorities, trying to imply that Connor was driving the boat, not Paul. Authorities were searching for Mallory. Though hurt, Anthony would not get in the ambulance and leave until Mallory was found. Paul, Connor, Morgan and Miley were taken to the hospital. At the hospital, Paul was still belligerent, difficult and drunk, so he had to be strapped down on a table to get a blood sample. His alcohol level tested 3 times above the legal limit. Morgan’s hand was severely hurt and the skin on her fingers were sliced back and had to be sutured. Connor suffered an injured jaw and injured arm and put in a wheelchair and pushed down the hall for x-rays. All the while Randolph and Alex Murdaugh were going room to room and telling all the hurt and traumatized teenagers to not talk, even chasing down Connor in his wheelchair going down the hall as they told him to say he was driving the boat, not Paul. This was the last straw for Morgan. She was through with Paul and his abuse, so she broke up with him. And Conner refused to lie for the Murdaughs and take the blame for driving the boat and causing it to crash. The above is the account told by Paul’s girlfriend Morgan Doughty and others about how Paul was many times extremely abusive and spoiled and entitled and not exactly the sweet, mannered person some people are talking about during this trial. He did not deserve to be murdered, but he was flawed.
Not to mention it is said Paul tortured and killed animals as well. That never ends well. He was already implicated in three murders at the age of 22. I believe things would have continued to get worse for him. We will never know though, it's just the path he was on.
I see you watched Netflix. I’m not saying he was great, but Netflix very biased. 3 teens on the night of boat accident said Conor was driving then the next day after talking to each other change it and said it was Paul. I’m really open to believe he might have not drive it. I also wouldn’t judge his persona on the night he was drunk, we all been young and at some point drink too much and acted the way we don’t wanted, or at least some of us. I still believe he definitely didn’t deserved to be killed at such a young age, when he could go on rehab and maybe change his behaviour and had a chance to defence himself, now it all taken away from him.
Not only that but the forensic reenactment shows the way Connor was flung there was absolutely NO way he could have been driving the boat!! 💯 He was flung to the right of the boat and cut his face on some brackets in the floor (I forgot what they are called) but that rules PAUL as the only DRIVER

No matter what the defense says, the cell phone and OnStar evidence puts him at the crime scene when he says he never went to the kennels prior to ‘discovering’ his wife and son. Case closed.

The simple fact that Alex told his parents caretaker “if anyone asks, I’ve been here for 30-40 minutes” is what did it for me.
the part where they played the 911 call and he didn't seem to react did it for me.
that and the part where he tried to convince Blanca the housekeeper that a) he was not wearing his seaform shirt that morning which she remembered him wearing that she hasnt seen since and b) that he instructed her to clean the entire house right away the next morning after the murders is what did it for me.

@@roseschulze1647 idk if that one and the seafoam one arent the same, color could be a bit off due to cam, it hasnt been shown as evidence, might be the missing one. But the video was shot at 07:21 so a lot of time to change clothes. We dont know what he did wear at 08:44 when they were at the kennels. Also interesting that in the bodycam video later at 10:25 he wore a white shirt with shorts and gym shoes, but at his mothers house at 09:43 he wore sparries, the ones he wore earlier in that video at 07:21 - dont think that those have been found btw. Why would he change his shoes within those 40 minutes?
Is that creepy or what? Then the caretaker has to deal with hearing about the murders and that statement. You think she is loyal to Alex? No way, what a fool he is, and a narcissist.
Many times tight-knit families are mistaken for loving and caring when, in truth, they are horribly dysfunctional and codependent. This screams of such a dynamic - the dangers of it and the unraveling.
The south is full of them, most are rejects, undesirables from Britain.
Exactly, I always tell my son don't assume because your friends families are close that there aren't issues going on.
My family is a classic example. For years, marriages looked closely knitted, functional, normal, and almost picture-perfect. Eventually, the threads slowly loosened, and started to unravel. One divorce after the other happened, largely due to alcoholism, extramarital affairs, and even abuse in some cases. I say that the more normal the family looks, the more problems there are underneath.

Isn’t the bigger issue the fact that the law enforcement officers allowed it? Of course they congregated - they loved the Murdaugh family. It’s a small southern town and that’s what people do.
@@bonnylouwho76 why’s that? They are witnesses to the crime scene, the background, and knew the victims well. None have testified to anything that helps the defense. If anything, they should be commended for getting on the stand and telling the truth.

I was thinking the same thing. A whole firm , bankruptcy of some people, and a lot of deaths left behind.
Man he can destroy the whole community. Even a black eye on the whole state of S.C. mainly lawyers.
He started putting doubt in everyone's mind from the get go. Within seconds Alex brought up the boat incident to the first officer on the scene. I also noticed that he was very quick to call everyone. His plan was to cause as much confusion as possible. He's an attorney, he knows how to people down a rabbit hole.
You could tell he was very eager to give his alibi (which seemed very rehearsed) instead of being brokenhearted over the death of his wife and child. And then, yes... he basically invited everyone he knew over to his house in order to use the chaos as cover and not have to answer too many questions one on one. He thought he was so smart, too. He thought he had this all planned out perfectly.
...and to contaminate the crime scene that he cleaned up as much as he could in a limited time frame as he had to establish his alibi. Initially stating that he was away for about an hour and a half visiting his mom and last saw Maggie and Paul 45 minutes before that. Paul's snap chat video proved he was at the kennels and not taking a nap as he claimed. Paul's earlier video proved that Alex changed clothes before he left for his mom's as his mom's care giver testified he was wearing the clothes he wore when the cops arrived. No blood on his hands despite claiming that he turned Paul's body over to check for a pulse and then went over to Maggie to check for her pulse which he couldn't have done in 17 seconds after arriving back at the crime scene to call 911 from his vehicle as we can hear the eco caused from the 'on star system' in his vehicle. He didn't get out of the vehicle until sometime after calling 911. He made multiple calls for family and lawyer friends to come over to contaminate the crime scene and 45 minutes before he called Buster. If he was worried about vigilantes, he would call Buster 1st to warn him. Vigilantes bring their own weapons of choice. Neither Maggie nor Paul had any defensive wounds despite the shooter being within 3 to 4 ft of them when they were shot so they knew their killer. How did Alex know they were shot and not bludgeoned and stabbed? "They did him so bad" when referring to Paul's injuries. "someone had anger in their heart to do what THEY did' suggesting that there was more than 1 killer and he used 2 rifles to make sure that investigators thought there were more than 1 killer. Alex tried to make it seem like it was just another typical day when in fact he was confronted for stealing a half million from a client earlier that day and then found out his father who was dying of cancer was back in the hospital. Alex called both Maggie and Paul to come to Moselle because he was out of time to make it all go away any other way but to get rid of his 2 dependents$ that he could no longer afford their lifestyles AND his so he made a choice to get rid of them as his 'lust' for $, po$ITion, po$$e$$ion$ and drug$ was more important to him than Family relationships. He only visited his mom 5 or 6 times in the last 5 years. She only had 1 care giver to bribe whilst he dad was in the hospital with too many people to bribe for his alibi. He later staged the roadside shooting to divert the investigation away from him and towards his plan to blame some unknown vigilantes but vigilantes bring their own weapons of choice. If only couSIN Eddie kept his mouth shut! If only Paul didn't take those videos. IF only Maggie would stop spending... $1221.00 for Gucci was the last straw! He told her they didn't have enough $ to settle the wrongful death lawsuit as that TIGER Tinsley wouldn't take his offer and HE would have to sell everything and start over with no law license and she never worked and at 52 she wasn't going to either. So it was ALL up to HIM so he did what was best for him and Buster. Alex paid $50,000 to get Buster back into law school after being booted for cheating. Alex and Buster could open up their own FAMILY Law firm ... Buster's long time gf passed the BAR exam so she would join their firm. Randy would too and possibly his sister. If only his plan worked! lol

Maggs wedding ring was under the seat of her car! AM pressed her to put the homes from her name to his but she refused. If she died, they default to him. A liar isnt always a murderer but a murderer is always a liar.
Family and friends say they have never heard or seen Alex raise his voice or ever show aggression because he's a Sociopath. He been able to make a living stealing from people with no remorse or guilt in any way so yes, he doesn't show emotions because he doesn't have the capacity to own them. That's a dangerous man.

That's an excellent point. Its despicable how a firm's worth of lawyers were allowed to run wild on a double homicide scene. Something that was not really addressed but adds to how things worked in Alex's life. He never had to play by sane rules as rest of society

Ball testified about the 2017 / 18 incident of the theft of Randy's check. That should have made them look at all Alex's cases. That was a 3rd of a million dollars.

Then he was trying to pay off the caregiver taking care of his mom by saying he would pay for the wedding and if the cops ask to say he was there longer than he really was... if you didn't do it you wouldn't even suggest these things.. Also if he didn't do it he's definitely not showing enough emotion to the fact his family was murdered and they don't know who did it.. this man was cool as ice telling stories when the cops showed up.. My dad died from cancer and I was gone emotionally, couldn't speak, eat, do anything but be sad.. it's been over 10 years since he's died and I still get upset.. This man just sits there like nothing happened..

Mark Ball turned out to be an excellent and forthright witness, ironically, for the prosecution today. This is definitely a see-saw case.
They got him to admit that he never really knew a.m. so yes I would say he was a very good witness for the prosecution.

You should listen to the jail convos Alex has with Buster when Buster is pissed at the law school for not reinstating him after getting kicked out for cheating. He gives no thought to people who had to work so hard to get in and work full time to pay for their tuition. He should just have his failing grades wiped from his transcripts and POOF: back in law school. Same when he gripes about someone taking his picture in Vegas with his uncle John Marvin, sitting at poker table spending money his dad stole from disabled clients.

The way they let Paul drink was child abuse. Friends says he'd been a heavy drinker since he was 14 and that he drank freely around his family. Rumor also has it that Alex got Paul out of multiple DUI's.
These people didn't even care about their own children, drinking at 14, how sick is that!

you do realize as far as the FIRM goes , any one of them helping, lying to hide AM fraud and theft of money ? would result in them possibly getting charged as an accomplice - AND THE FIRM getting sued

He wasn’t going to sugarcoat how he felt about him because it’s obvious, he believes AM murdered them due to that video with him being there seconds before the murders. God bless him!!

His statement of not “knowing where the crime scene started or stopped and being concerned about safety” is a bit disingenuous, to say the least. This man seems like a good decent stand up kind of guy but why was he there in the first place? In reality his actions were quite contrary to what he claimed in his testimony. He seemed to have no reticence about being there at all. Do these people really think that gawking at two people who had just been slain was any place they should be? My perspective might be a very unpopular one but as I sit and listen to so many of these law firm partners and friends testify that they felt obligated or somehow, entitled to show up at the scene in the immediate wake of a double murder is beyond astonishing to me. It is absolutely inconceivable to me that these men all have LAW degrees and yet went as fast as they could out to the Murdaugh property and just stood there lurking, watching and soaking up every little detail their eyes could feast on while the victims still lay right where their lives were taken. That many people descending on a crime scene was grossly irresponsible and so disrespectful. Their deaths were treated like a side show. They ALL KNEW BETTER!! Their presence and disruption at the onset of that investigation was so unwarranted. It’s common knowledge that people don’t just show up on the scene of a murder, knowing how critical it is for LE to preserve evidence, avoid distractions and likely cross contamination. This is so shocking that they imposed themselves the way they did! These are seasoned attorneys who truly had no business being there. It really does wreak of morbid curiosity that these men all arrived within an hours time of a double homicide. It doesn’t take much reasonable doubt to help someone walk free. On his best day Murdaugh is a very odd self centered guy. It’s impossible to believe he would have ever inspired this much love or devotion from anyone.
This horrible man had so many people that loved and respected him and he was surrounded by good friends. I WISH I had just one of those friends. Why is it always the worst of us who have the best lives and then choose to destroy them.

He was good at pretending to be emotional and try to show care to peopl. But he did not care or feel emotional towards people. He knew it was normal to care and show emotion although it was rarely done. I think as Alex got older, it was harder for him to pretend these things. He really didn't care.

yes even though i KNEW alex did it, i recall thinking that on the first news of the murders and seeing all the cars and people there. a few snipers could have eliminated the entire firm. i told my husband that they all knew, unconsciously, that alex was the killer or they would have been afraid to be there.

Mark Ball seems like such an honest, straightforward person when answering questions. His concern for the dignity of the deceased says good things about his character. It’s horrible trying to imagine this poor man having to live with memories like this. I believed his testimony 100%, and I feel that his clear thinking about his impressions should be listened to.
And yet, covering for the killer as he testifies how broken up Alex was and how much he loved his family.. That whole law firm is a lot of wrong.

This is a very rural area. Hunting is a huge thing in the Carolina’s. You cannot keep guns outside in the elements. It rains a lot and is very humid. Most people have gun safes. I hear you.

Normally if someone's loved ones are laying deceased, people protect them from the scene as there is nothing they can do. Alex hung around the scene illiciting attention, and no one was out looking for killers. Anyway, unlikely two killers turned up with the intent to kill but planned on searching for weapons and not bringing their own, then amazingly found a preloaded weapon each, without being caught looking for them, by Maggie or Paul. Then left in what would've had to have been a stolen car, unless they were dumb and used their own, and dumped the phone, towards where Alex was without running into him. And that spiel about Alex going around the property earlier in the day, with Paul, was rubbish according to phone data and vehicle data. Yet Alex weeps in court when listening to his police interview discussing this, as if it were bringing back memories. He's such a fraud.

It's really amazing how many people Alex had befriended and left bewildered with his true self coming to the surface for ALL of them to witness. He involved pretty much all of them to help set the scene to look like a victim verses the murderer. He orchestrated that whole scene to do just that and it worked for a while.
You would imagine if they believed it was an outsider that murdered Paul & Maggie they would have ensured evidence was protected and gathered responsibly.

I can't imagine how utterly uncomfortable & frightened many of the people Alex summoned to Moselle were by being at a property where two people were just murdered & their bodies were still warm & laying there under a sheet. For all anybody knew in that moment, killer(s) were on the loose too. I believe the purpose of Alex orchestrating the scene was two-fold: 1. maximize the good ol' boy/legal connections & impress upon LE just who Alex was and/or intimidation factor of all the prominent lawyers being at his side. Also, Alex & his brothers being pals with some on the local police & fire depts. I think Alex felt that LE would never look at him as a suspect. Until SLED took over. 2. Muck up the crime scene as much as possible with a slew of people arriving trampling thru the property to try & impair forensics, contaminate the crime scene. Not even the house was secured. Law firm folks, extended family & the housekeeper were involved in destroying any trace evidence for Alex by being "helpful." It's crazy to me that the property wasn't secured from the get go- regardless of Alex being a suspect or not. That's bungling on LE's end. It shouldn't matter who is the victim, or who is potentially involved. GTFO & gather your posse elsewhere.
I got so upset about what he did to all his so-called friends, innocent people that needed the money. Especially his family! This horrific crime took much forethought and planning. Imagine riding around the property with your son knowing you are going to murder him, and your wife, later that day. How does that happen? Alex Murdaugh was about to lose everything. His wife was about find out what he had done. She would leave him, divorce him, whatever. So he weighed up what was more valuable to him and, sadly for his family, they fell far short. He actually decided his name, career, reputation, money, status, friends and freedom were worth more to him than his own wife and child. Maggie was his real intended victim. But he needed something extra to deflect blame from himself. He needed a potential suspect & motive - the boat wreck threats. But who would believe anyone would kill Maggie when Paul was to blame for that. So Paul's mistake became his father's opportunity. Could you imagine anything more evil and cold-blooded. Murdering his own son will provide police with a motive for both killings and neatly point everyone in the direction of the boat wreck threats - and away from himself. Calls his brother & lawyer to spread the word and make sure every friend and lawyer he knows turns up to the crime scene - which heartless bastard, when they see the raw crime scene & a distraught Alex, is going to be the first to bring up stolen money? Right, none. And contaminate the crime scene while they're at it.

First said the knife was his, then in the phone interview he said it was Eddie's. The man can and will lie about anything if he thinks it will help him.

Its so disapointing, disgusting how sled didnt protect the crime scene and allowed people and help to traverse the house and crime scene.
This is an extensive outline of the layers of protection regarding law enforcement being able to protect the integrity of a crime scene They have EXTENSIVE authority over a huge area of property, entrances, everything. It seems ( allegedly) that this so-called "crime-scene," was purposefully allowed to be compromised. ALL buildings should have been included in the crime scene, including AM mothers home, the roadways, waterways everything in the ENTIRE area of probable consecutive relativity. This compromising of these scenes is unconscionable. I am particularly incensed at this time, because my best friend was killed in December in a violent act in which her husband them committed suicide. Everything was shut down in so many ways all around with the relatives and an estate of inheritance being part and parcel of it as well. It is HUGE, and the detectives cancelled or shut down the interview with those who could provide evidence and information intimately connected with the situation. Those who spoke out, even in tributes to this fine woman, were literally ATTACKED online. The husband himself, redid posted photos and timelines on social media to make it appear as if he and his wife were in locations when that was not so and the photos were from two years earlier. I realize that I am throwing a lot out here, and this is just a fraction of it. I simply wanted to illustrated that corruption runs deep and innocent people can be threatened and manipulated in ways that are terrible and deadly. I DO see the valid fears of the jury members.I have personally in my own life been made to suffer, along with my children , due tho the illegal and massive dishonesty and misuse of the courts. It echos and those later who observe how corruption and unrighteous dominion used on one family member ( a spouse of spouses) are perpetrated upon by successive partners. WHY? Because they saw and had been told about it, and figured they could get away with the same, muddying the waters with their own techniques.

Wait a minute. I’m probably not the first one to notice this. But, this guy was concerned about the house, possibly being part of the crime scene and wasn’t sure if he should even go to the house, but when he went in there, he started moving pots and pans around in the kitchen? Does not compute.
His wife and child are murdered on June 7th and Alex and Buster go to a July 4th party without a care in the world? This witness is doing a whole lotta talking in circles in order to both tell the truth as well as not to incriminate his friend of 34 years. He's not lying for him but he's very edgy about telling the whole truth of what he feels and knows. Feel bad for him but the prosecuting attorney (the best of the team in my opinion) flipped this witness into an asset to the state in the cross. He leaves a little pause between questions for the answers to sink in for the jury. Nice job. The defense lawyer seemed bored and inattentive in questioning his own witness. His questions weren't well organized or follow a connected flow and didn't even make eye contact with the witness, looking down at his papers the whole time.
And he goes to the party, while supposedly soooo worried about his and Buster's "safety," so he takes, with him, a gun in a bag .... AND he ends up forgetting it there when he leaves!

Possibly, but I doubt it. He was most definitely an addict, for decades. Opiates have a short half-life, so they are out of your system pretty quickly before you start feeling withdrawals. He would have been taking them like smarties; very likely 30 or more tabs a day - long-term abuse produces tolerance and you need more and more to get the high; altho by this point you're not even getting a high anymore, you are just staving off withdrawals and getting a slight buzz . So, basically, he was bulk-buying. I don't think his dealer would have taken kindly to his best customer becoming a dealer of his product, on his patch.
Drugs are "currency," who knows what he was using them for or what he was bartering, or compromising in others lives to ensure loyals and fear and and usory. Sick sex, trafficking all of it that none of us can even conceive of.

Could be. Could also be his coping mechanism. Maybe he didn’t want to be alone. These kinds of behaviors are difficult to judge. If you view them from a lens of guilt, these behaviors look highly suspect. If you come from a presumption of innocence, it could be explained away pretty easily.

The way they are using the Death of Beautiful Mallory, as a scapegoat, IS SICKENING. They didn't even try to search for her. All of them went with Paul to the hospital and instantly started manipulating the details. They didn;t even call her parents to give condolences. They called to change the story. Now, they are using her death - to their advantage. I have never seen this level of PROFITEERING from all forms of crime, outside of a movie.

Alex could never admit to being wealthy because he truly believed he wasn’t. No amount of money could ever satiate his greed. Look at the lengths he’d go to protect himself and his assets. It’s repulsive. Maggie wanted a divorce and didn’t want to sell their joint property. Divorces are expensive. On top of Paul’s boat murder court costs with an almost guaranteed million dollar settlement Alex would be held liable for. On top of this add on his 90+ incoming financial fraud lawsuits AND an opiate addiction that would leave a drug king pin comatose this man spiraled into a desperate frenzy. The saddest thing is that neither Paul or Maggie had to die. Alex was going to jail no matter what but he just couldn’t let them go, he had to take them down with him. Paul should have taken responsibility for that poor girls murder but he was murdered unjustly too. Maggie should have been able to separate from Alex and explore the next stage in her life focusing on herself and what would make her happy but she was totally blindsided by the one man she had dedicated so many years of her life to. This man has an icebox where his heart should be.
If Alex was an opiod addict to the tune of $50k a week, he would've been drooling all around the town and falling asleep at the wheel etc. If he had done drugs for 20yrs, the hospital would've needed to give him an enormous amount of pain killer after the attempted murder suicide. His vitals would've shown that. But they didn't. He did get some, then went to the rehab where he still had some in his system.
He was never asked/answered that the every & entire weekly 50k transaction was divided/purely & only for the physical pills… It’s just assumed. nor was he ever asked/answered that he ingested every pill that he purchased….it’s just assumed. it was a racket..

I think he just said all that money was for drugs. I believe he was addicted to pain meds but I also believe he was tucking away stolen money. He took a trip to the Bahamas shortly after the murders and I am sure there is money hidden in an account there. The text from Paul saying Maggie had found his pill stash is what led to their deaths. An Addict puts their drugs before everything. I believe Paul confronted Alex about the found drugs and Alex shot him. Then because Maggie witnessed that he had to kill her too. Alex only cared about himself and feeding his addiction.

Alec definitely "planted" the idea of a revenge killing referring to the boating accident. He thought that would change the focus of the investigation. As an aside…why is everyone’s reaction when they heard of the shootings to drop everything and rush to the crime scene….family, friends, law partners, mail carrier….what the hell is going on?
Because they were all into each other’s business, calling it “family “! Watch out when someone calls you family because you are not. Families can be bad enough, much less dealing with all these people nosing into you and your children’s lives. What a mess!!!

He stomped all over the property before the bodies were even removed and only came on to criticize police work after him and his idiot coked up lawyer buddies were there to gawk at and contaminate the crime scene. You know what would have preserved Paul and Maggie's dignity? HIs buddy Alex not shooting them.
This is a great witness. Very calm and compassionate.
He called everyone over to the murder scene, he wanted to make sure people trampled all over that crime scene area, he did all that on purpose he knew exactly what he was doing but it still did not get him out of it .... if Alex thought for one second someone was on the lose after blowing the brains out of his son & wife, he would of made sure that people was being careful but he knew he murdered them .... I hope they look into every incident where a person has passed on while around or involved with alex ....
It strikes me that perhaps AM invited all his friends to the scene in order to confuse the evidence and investigation. As a lawyer, he surely knew how important a sterile crime scene is for investigation, so why would he bring so many others in to see his dead family?

I agree with your comment. For the police detectives to allow this is totally insane.. keep in mind this was all planned, Alex Murdaugh called some friends/family himself and informed his brother to call the family to arrive.
Good point. How many civil law attorneys does it take to destroy a crime scene? Quite a lot apparently. They all should have known better. I'm guessing at this point the police thought Paul and Maggie had been killed by outsiders at the kennels, who then fled the scene never going up to the house. Which is a reasonable assumption at that time. They didn't consider the house part of the crime scene. But they let their knowledge of who Alex is cloud their judgement and forego standard procedure. I wonder whose heads rolled for that decision.

Oh without a doubt, this was done and they ALL knew it and most likely ( if true) did it en masse because they figured nothing would ever be done about it. pretty hard to incarcerate a whole mob of crooked lawyers.
Paul was such a good kid that he drunkenly, under age, only killed one person in the boat wreck.
Apparently they didn't know about "Timmy" who also slapped and spit on his girlfriend the night Timmy died
And the parents were so kind that they always got a keg for their sons when they had unchaperoned parties at Moselle--and all 4 of them drank together every evening. Paul had a DUI @ 17 yo, but it was erased by attending a safety class. He had a slew of speeding tickets, was expelled from high school, cursed and used obscenities in front of his mom, aunt, and cousins--while his parents laughed, he was physically and verbally abusive to friends and romantic partners, he exhibited an explosive identity disorder when drinking alcohol, carried guns with him everywhere he went, usually left them somewhere, and there are videos online of Alex on a boat with Paul and his underage friends doing shots...There was no parenting! The custom made blackout rifles Maggie got the boys for Christmas cost $9,188--and Paul immediately lost his "somewhere", so his parents got him another one, with no repercussions!
Yup. Paul was a great "kid". He regularly abused his girlfriend and was so narcissistic that he wouldn't give up driving "his boat"....completely inebriated. Great "kid". B.S.

The law firm like his lawyer friend did not know at that time how. Alex may have implicated them. They were as concerned about what this meant for them in terms of liability, personal safety and their ability to earn a living in the future. His brother Randy there at the scene walking all over the place also could be implicated. A dozen lawyers showing up in the dark at midnight must have been pretty intimidating for the local cops and the sled investigators as well.
Or was that Alex's plan all alone. Between all the Family, lawyers / friends and the house cleaner in the house and the crime scene. He knew exactly what he was doing. I hope he doesn't get away with it . Justice for Paul and Maggie

Really,the jury would want to be operating on one cell to believe one or two murderers turned up to murder two people and did'nt bring any weapons and hoped the'd find some guns convenently hanging around waiting for them.he l8ed about being there at the kennels,changing his clothes,those clothes going missing, maggie's phone,lying about visit to mother's home, lying about time.trying to get carers and housekeeper to change their minds about time and whatvhe was wearing. Do not want to sound insensitive, but ... Mallory drowned in a cold dark river due to Paul's reckless behavior, now he is lying dead in the rain, due to his father's behavior. I have more empathy for her and her family. These people behave like elephants in glass cages.

It's strange that this guy had to point out to investigators that a gun was in the gun rack they didn't confiscate and it was the same type of gun that killed them.

So, let's get this point out of the way about the different versions of whether it was Maggie or Paul he checked first. I have a full transcript, transcribed by myself over a few hours. Let's examine the first four minutes of the conversation with the deputy first on scene at 10:25PM: He starts by laying the roots of an alibi "it's a long story, there was a boat crash a while back." Alex Murdaugh then asks if Maggie and Paul are being checked, or if they are dead *SEVEN times in FOUR minutes - he also says that he checked their pulses and then 2 minutes 29 seconds later, says he didn't check them. The officer walks past the bodies before he reaches AM, and without checking them and merely by sight reports two deceased bodies. He doesn't need to check them to see that they are beyond help. Here is the transcript. The times are exactly as they are in the body cam footage by 717. Officer: "Central 717 scene here secure, erm, whiskey F (female) whiskey Mike (male)..both with gunshots to the head." AM: "Sir, I wanted to let you know, because of the scene, I do...I did go, get a gun and bring it down here." DEPUTY 717 (approaches AM, walking past the bodies to his left) "It's in your vehicle? do you have any guns on you at all?" AM "No sir, It's leaning against the side of my car." (if there was a killer on the loose he doesn't seem to be too worried) DEPUTY 717 "You're fine man...you're fine ok...turn around for me.." (lifts Alex's shirt) AM "I don't have anything on me." (spins around, hands in the air) DEPUTY 717 "Yes sir, I see that, OK. This is your wife and son?" AM "and son." (weird thing to say?) 0:41 "It's bad, it's bad...I CHECKED THEIR PULSES". 1:26 "Did you check? did you check them?" *He's told they are dead 1:31 "What are they doing (EMS)? Can they hurry?" 3:10 "I DIDN'T EVEN CHECK 'EM ..they're dead right? They are dead aren't they?" 4:21 (Moans) "is somebody gonna check 'em" *He's told they have been checked 4:24 "They did check 'em?" (deputy answers yes) 4:26 "And it's official, that they are dead?" (deputy - "that's what it looks like yes sir") *Alex just wanders off on the phone. 5:23 Uh...what?... are they covering them up? (*watches). *He's just been told they are dead several times and it's apparent to anyone that they are. Paul's brain was on the floor and Maggie's head had a large hole in it. 9:19 On the phone to his brother - "They're covering them up, they're already dead." *what an odd thing to say? They are 'already' dead? He told it differently again in the interview at the scene in the car when he'd already lawyered up. This time he checked them both and even tried to turn Paul over. Yet he has no blood on him. Here, we have the testimony that he oscillated between two different stories. So. he continues to lie and get it wrong sometime after the murders. He just lies - it's what he does best. This was never brought up in the trial. Having checked their pulses he makes no determination whether they are dead or not dead? It's total idiocy. And don't give me that he wasn't thinking straight because a couple of minutes after the conversation in the transcript above he gives clear, concise birthdates and full names without faltering. Yet he tries to tell us that he is unable to tell if two obviously dead bodies are dead. Dead bodies just keep piling up. His Great Grandfather died in a mysterious train accident and his grandfather took over. Then we have the young gay man dead in the middle of the road after allegedly having a cosy time with Buster. Then the housekeeper and the boat accident. Then his wife and son. It's like Alex Murdaugh is the Grim Reaper.
Thank god for adrenaline, this is something a killer does not know it will happen. It begins to flow very very fast in your blood thru your body and brain and becomes very uncontrolable. This is where he gets stupid and does dumb things. It can last for hours and possibly days. Its like someone chasing you with a gun wanting to kill you, it is the same effect. Its also called the fight or flight response or a bodily hormone. Its meant to help you. But a killer I believe excrets even more. This is where a killer will say and do very stupid things, incriminating themselves. Like Alex did. HeTold 911 no one was with him, but their was someone their, Maggie and paul. Explained to police that Paul was in a boat accident where the girl was killed to name a few. There was no reason to tell him that, it was immaterial to the murders. He didn't cry about his son or wife and never mentioned that whoever killed his son and wife needed to be found, instead he showed no concern for finding the killer just for some examples

Mind boggling that authorities let this man walk into and around the feed room even while a large piece of Paul's skull was LEFT on the ground at the crime scene. Even he knew it was wrong. How could the authorities say to him they had everything they needed even though a piece of Paul's skull was still there. It seems so very disrespectful to Paul. What happened to securing the crime scene, truly securing it. Astonishing that they let all these people congregate in the house and on the scene so shortly after the murders and while there was still an investigation going on.
The whole mess is very telling. Seems as if it's a " Good ol boys" cover up club from the git go. Trial should have been moved into another county,instead of the country club they're at. This was set up from the instance it started. Too many missteps .
@@cherzum No, he didn’t. Alec’s brother had already been at the scene attempting to clean up all the blood because Agents had “released” the scene already. Yes, the scene was probably released too early but Mark Ball didn’t willfully contaminate anything for AM.

Maybe this is why Alec kept calling people, so they would come over and possibly contaminate the scene or house. Or to try to make it seem like some evidence wouldn't matter due to how poorly areas were not sealed. Very surprised they allowed people to walk to and through the house.
He called all those people to come over because he wanted their attention. He is narcissistic, possibly psychopathic. He robbed all those pitiful people without so much as a backward glance. No empathy is a huge red flag!

Mark Ball stated he received a call from Ronnie Crosby at 1030 pm and told to get over there. 911 call was made around 1007 pm. Does anyone else find the short time span and immediate response by the firm seem suspicious to anyone else?

All crime scenes should be considered crimes, regardless, and should be locked down. They were too lenient with Alex because of who he was or because of his prominent family. They threaded lightly because if they treated him like a suspect and he was innocent they might feel embarrassed or fear of being shunned or something. That mentality is wrong, they could always apologize later and say it's part of the job.
I see parallel with this trial with the OJ SIMSON trial in 1995. He too was a prominent figure in LA county who police handled with kid gloves because he was celebrity. Guess there's 2 types of justice in this country.
I think it was very purposeful of Alex to have every person he could think of arrive and to fill Moselle full of lawyers. He'd already bought the police department, so he knew they wouldn't accuse him right off the bat, even though he was so obvious in his guilt.
