Alex' biggest weakness is how many genuinely honest people he had around him every day. He's like a tornado passing through a peaceful town.
A spoiled man child
I think his para-legal referred to Alec as a Tasmanian Devil….
True, this is why I’m on the fence regarding AM involvement. Ppl gravitate to like minded ppl. So, learning that he was surrounded by such ppl, now has me question his innocence.
Well said.
His paralegal at the office said when the boss came to the office, it was like the Tasmanian Devil. I had a boss who was like that. It was exhausting. Sometimes his wife would drop him off at the office on Mondays and she was happy to get some rest.
I could listen to him talk about the details of his job all day. He takes it seriously. It is not a menial task, but a responsibility for someone’s animals. He respects property and understands the assignment. What a great human.
Yes...and it doesn't hurt that he's talking about dogs too.🐾👍🥰
After his testimony, you felt like you had been around a good man.
He took pride in his work & always did it well. Very trustworthy, responsible & dependable.
Agreed 👍
9iiiii.
As a child I grew up with people like him. Hard working, polite and humble. Don't let their folksy speech patterns fool you. They are often very sharp.
I'd rather work with people like him than AM and his brothers. They are so fake. This guy gives a straight answer.
So many mistake kindness and politeness for weakness. It's not.
you mean they know how to do their jobs....and take pride in their work
Don't let living simple be confused with dumb or stupid. These are not fools.
I know that's right.
Criminals always forget about good and honest working people like Dale. Even in Alex Murdaugh’s wildest dreams he could never imagine that the guy who takes care of the dogs would take so much pride in his work that he would roll the water hose up in a way that was so particular that he could look at a picture and say someone used that hose after I did. How? Because there is a kink in the hose and the the sprayer head was not laid down to the ground. He knew where every dog was, which kennel should be empty, and which kennel should have dogs. He knew which dogs were more family pets and which dogs were the working dogs. He knew where the guns were , what kind of guns they were, and the ammo that the family used. He knew which vehicles everyone used to come down to the dog pens. Dale even knew how the angle of the sun in the summer and winter would dry those sidewalks. He could look at pooling water and state without a doubt that something is off. Everything he did had purpose. And over time he learned everything to be known about that area of the land and a lot more. It’s the people like Dale that keep us all honest. In this case Alex absolutely forgot about Dale. And Alex’s defense just couldn’t counter him because he was telling the truth. He didn’t make any overt hyperbolic statements, he just told the truth.
But what, ultimately, is so damning about the hose and puddles being they way they were found when photographed by police? It's clear Maggie and Alex and Paul were there spending time. Wouldn't it be unsurprising that they used the hose, and as Dale states - none of them are good about putting the hose back. I'm puzzled - What is the Gotcha here?
@@dianapuppy4141 it’s not a gotcha, I’ll admit that. Not a gotta go to jail moment. But for the jury I bet it hit pretty hard. I’m not convinced Alex killed his wife and son, but I think he knows what happened and why it happened. But I do believe that he completely forgot about Dale and the water hose and if he did use it he never thought in a million years that it would become noticeable . We will see what happens
I kinda got the opposite in that if I was a juror it would be a point for Alex. If I’m the jury I just heard this guy say in all 4 years of working there i never saw him raise his voice to his wife or children. I’m also thinking that it could have been Paul, Maggie, or Alex who used the hose.
the most damaging detail AM did not foresee in his plan, was that his son and wife were constantly on the phone. And that Paul had recorded the video that proved all 3 of them were in the kennel and very shortly after that the phones went dead. Which very much determines the time of their killing. But I agree he also did not foresee that a meticulous neighbour would testify that someone had used the hose (out of order) and that is consisent with AM hosing himself down. Or that he confidently claimed how long he was in the house of his mother - and the caretaker was not deferential but said no it was only half the time. Only police was very deferential to Mister Alex. And sloppy.
The payload of this testimony is the water hose in the video is on the ground. Then they are killed with it on the ground. Who rolled it up as seen in SLED pic. Someone that cared about the property and dogs would have rolled it up. Not a rando person that waited in the bushes for him to leave and then pow pow pow pow pow and then say…oh we need to finish the dog stuff. THATS WHAT HE WAS MOST LIKELY DOING AFTER HE KILLED THEM. AND THATS WHY HE HAD ALL THE STEPS ON HIS PHONE. CHASING MAGGIE AND THEN CLEANING UP THE DOGS AND HOSING DOWN STUFF.
This was the single best witness of the entire trial thus far, doubtful anyone will top him. Straight forward. Not nervous. No fakery. You instantly trusted anything he said because you knew he was telling it like it is. A good man, a rarity these days. Raise your hand if you’d be happy to call him ‘friend.’ 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻

Yep, it's called doing your job in excellence. It's so rare that when you encounter someone doing it it really stands out.

@@lorellgingrich1334 Yup. Now look at Gen Z, first they came up with “quiet quitting”, now they actually have “bare minimum Monday”. I cannot relate to that mindset one bit. Of course, as a “blue collar” worker I could not get away with that if I tried…but it would never enter my Gen X mind as I take pride in my work & was raised with a good work ethic.

The genius that goes unnoticed about wonderful people like Dale is how much pride they take in seemingly mundane tasks or chores, there is almost an art-like quality to it, he is actually inspiring.
He certainly is. If you don't take pride in your work - whatever it is - then you're wasting around a quarter of your life (40 hours a week).

@@crystalshaw8744Yes, and even though I have been blessed with opportunities for a great education etc… this truly shows what is important in life. You would think Murdaugh who thinks he hit a home run but was born on third base would have never done anything to disrupt the charmed life he was blessed with. Instead, this humble man gets wayyy more respect for his daily work than the dishonesty of the sociopath he had to work for. Being a good person and a heart of love is really what matters in the end.
Dale is one of those “salt of the Earth” employees that help keep this world turning and on schedule. They take and do their job consistently, diligently - without fanfare - come Hades, high water, or whatever else pops up. Pay him, respect him and buy the supplies he requests and all is very good. And they won’t talk your business either. You can tell by the way he answers the questions posed to him. I so admire Dale and all those in his class and cut from the same bolt of cloth.

The more I watch this trial, the more it’s clear the Murdaugh family have just… uprooted so many good people’s lives. So many good honest people.
That’s an interesting perception. I agree. Maggie’s Sister was asked about Maggie’s way of life and she said “House Mom and, not luxurious but comfortable.” Meaning luxurious but she didn’t wanna say that but that’s neither here nor there! Just funny and telling to hear how people say things sometimes
And just talking about their family Maggie’s how shocked and dismayed they were. Just interesting again to me
I agree, they took all these great people down with them. Just awful.

@@_KaiRos-11I thought the same thing about her response. It’s certainly luxurious to have all these staff, several homes etc. I honestly do not get the impression that Maggie was particularly nice to her first housekeeper either.

Alex's worst nightmare: an OCD hose roller. No (alleged) murderer expects that anyone paid any attention to the hose. To the murderer, it was a tool of cleaning, not a yard supply to be maintained or cared for.

I don't believe for one second his opiates cost anywhere near $60k a week. That is just an excuse he is using to try to take some responsibility away from him for his huge thefts.
There is no possible way he was spending 60k/week for his opioid habit. I spent over 10 years addicted to opioids and in that time I’ve heard of some pretty crazy habits, but this is the worst I’ve ever heard of times 10. Like it’s so far out of the realm of existence it’s not even funny.

His best friend was the one who got me all sad…you could tell he really still loved AM but was still so horribly disappointed and shocked at what had gone on…
I have a friend from the area and I have visited a few times. These people all know each other, and each other’s business. The town has lots of natural things to do like hunting, hiking, and fishing. Otherwise, there are really no real restaurants or entertainment. The figurative nail in the coffin for me is the video. Logically it makes sense they were killed within a minute of that video being filmed, as their phones locked for the last time and Paul never got the chance to send the video to Rogan. And since Alex was heard in the background of that video, he was present at the time of the murders. To argue that he didn’t commit the murders, you’d have to believe one of the following: 1) Alex witnessed it but didn’t get killed himself and didn’t call the police right away. OR 2) Alex left the kennels right before they got killed, and managed to get away in the less than 60 seconds from when the video was taken/they were likely killed, and manage to not hear or see the murders or anything like that. Neither of those scenarios makes much sense to me.

Had AM been man enough to face his actions, there is a chance that Paul could have learned from that. He may have even sobered up as a young man and worked to make ammends. All of them could have still had great lives. Instead Alex savagely ripped that from them in his vain attempt to keep hiding what he'd been doing. Now Buster must live knowing his family was annihilated by the man he was supposed to be able to trust the most in this world.
Several nice houses, not just one. One would be for "ordinary" folks lol.
It'd be heaven for me, land and dogs
Work hard amigo and build credit. You'll get there. Adios.
Two houses lots of cars and trucks and a golf cart and such
Mr Davis is the best witness I've ever seen, and I'm a retired Criminal Court Recorder. I could listen to his delicious, deep voice all day. Good for you, Mr. Davis! And, good luck to you, sir.

@@sandcastle1417 No they don't. Many, many people act like the douchebags they are in court.
Yes! I could listen to him talk all day, too.
The fact that the Murdaughs used shock collars and had an electric fence in lieu of paying for adequate obedience training for hunting dogs or a proper fence, and that they had this guy shoot a dog that got injured instead of paying to take the dog to the vet…despite having so much money and being one of the most affluent families in the area…yeah, I’m not shocked that Alex had the capacity to kill. Also not surprised he was so callous towards animals when he treated humans like utter garbage for so long, even people that were close to him for years.
@@ahhhnushka my husband’s entire family worked hours training hunting dogs with different type birds. They had to obey and participate properly. They bred and trained them. Sold them for many thousands of dollars each.
@@ahhhnushka ... Obviously you know nothing about hunting dogs!
@@ahhhnushka You don't know what you are talking about.
@@ahhhnushka Hunter training is layered onto top of regular socialization and impulse control training. Obedience is paramount while hunting. You need to be able to recall and control your dog when other predators are about, or your life could be put at risk.
How many of us know someone you could hire to be like this man? Someone who actually cared for his job and taking care of what he was responsible for? I would hire him in a quick minute. People like this working for you are a Blessing and not easy to find. I hope he got a great job where he’s happy and appreciated.
And now he's unemployed at his age in South Carolina from a job a mile and a half from his home...
@@damita4336I bet someone hired him and quickly -he’s a gem
Just bcuz Alex didn’t have the heart to shoot a dog doesn’t mean he couldn’t shoot a person. Gimme a break! I know a lot of people who would shoot many a man over a dog.
Exactly that's why prosecution clarified that he was a hunter and killed animals
I know a lot of ppl who would shoot a human but would not shoot an animal.
I agree!
Facts
Plus he rightfully had his hired help do it. Maggie was sure to divorce him when all his financial crimes, drug dealing, being disbarred, being fired from law firm, and Murdaugh name became mud ALL came out in the community. Besides Alex would be in jail for a long time. Maggie of course would have fled from that mess. In a divorce there goes half his assets, spousal support and no more hunting lodge. Also Moselle was put only in Maggie's name in 2016. Alex would get it in her death per her will. There are the motives. Oh Paul lawsuit was going to cost Murdaugh millions and LE would be digging deep into his criminal finances Nope both had to go. So he killed them.
It was the hard working, competent "little people" who caught the inconsistencies in the stories told about what had happened...

@@eva1480 What grade are you in?
Dale is an honest hardworking gentle giant. May God bless him deeply.
Dale was a good witness. Most definitely knew each dog spot and the hose pipe. I believe everything he stated.
Newsflash. Alex lied about being at the kennels. Lied about the visit to his mom's house. Lied about the clothing he was wearing and asked others to lie about both of those things. Left the scene and then returned. Took nearly an hour to call police and then 35 seconds into the conversation with the first responder he claimed that the murders were related to the boat crash. And his demeanor from that night and also in the jail calls is not that of someone concerned for his life, nevermind someone grieving over the loss of his wife and son.
Exactly
Well said-agree 100%!!
Not to mention on the full recording of the 911 call on the night of the murders. You can hear the poor, upset dogs barking & yelping, but AM is stone silent until the dispatcher answers and he starts his acting show of tears. Guess he didn't know 911 calls start recording at time of dialing, not when the dispatcher answers.
Damn...
Andrew gets it
I love the guy who helped with the dogs. Pure soul
I love this witness!! He's a down home construction guy that will tell it like it is and not worry if he offends anyone. He definitely displays the best definition for "integrity!" Great Job Mr Davis!!
Dale is probably the least nervous of any of the witnesses; no pretense. He seems like such an honest, hard-working and kind man.
Seeing all these people in his life come forward and share their testimony goes to show how many people a single person affects. The choices YOU make alter the lives of all those around you. Dale is the salt of the earth and the others who testified are hurting from what they had to endure. Their humble lives uprooted and put under the public eye. AM is a total shitbag that will rot in prison in the company of other heartless murderers. He doesn't deserve to be amongst such lovely people in that community. Wishing all the best to Dale & the other innocent lives affected by the onslaught of horrific acts bestowed upon them from the Murdaughs! What a toxic family.
I feel bad for the dogs they had to have seen and heard it all . They must miss Maggie so sad 😢
So sad. Poor babies. It was obvious she loved those dogs.
Yep, heartbreaking.😢💔
AND apparently their water buckets were filthy despite what was said. They were cleaned out every 2 weeks ?!!?? Wtf ? Nasty ! Dumb family with money couldn’t buy extra buckets to make swapping out the used ones easier and more frequent ??? Jeez. And then there was mention of SHOOTING a dog rather than having it euthanized. Sickening.
@@angelwings7930 huh? Where do they mention shooting a dog? In this clip or a different one?
@@jomoland 39:20
I had only heard a few minutes of Dale's testimony when he referred to the one dog as "Tappy Toes." Even AM smiled at that. He (Dale) obviously feels great affection for that doggo and people that like animals to that level are always good, kind-hearted people.
And he recognized Bubba as rambunctious, not "stubborn." Tells me as a dog trainer, he has an understanding of dogs. But dang, those shock collars. Not sure if he approved of them, but I think he liked that Maggie took the dogs out.
@@ilovecanines well if Bubba was in a kennel all day then of course he would be rambunctious. Bubba needed exercise, me talking stimulation and likely more socializing. If as family or as an individual you think your dog is going to stay outside and not coming to the house, then it's really selfish and cruel to get a dog in the 1st place. Dogs belong in the house as they are pack animals. Ok and sometimes they get to be the boss 😆.

This man is so credible I think he’s a wonderful witness
A very good witness. Not nervous and accurate with facts.
I wouldn't be able to control myself ...so nervous
I loved this guy. He reminded me of my old uncle the farmer. I laughed when he spoke about the unlikely ability to catch a wild hog by its foot. 😂
“Unless your man enough to go in there and drag em out by their foot” that was so damn funny lol made that lawyer sound real stupid real fast haha
Yes!!! Loved that answer.
What’s more appealing than the case itself are the innocent working people around the madness
I like how this man speaks, calm and very matter of fact with no ummm ahhhhh, I thinks, well’s or maybes.
unlike his employer. Alex seems so evil. If the murders were to cover up his impending trial for stealing from clients, isn't this trial much worse? He could have let his family live, faced the court system and did his time and still been free in a decade or less but now he will never be free again. "Oh what tangled webs we weave when first we practice to deceive". The man got no wisdom from his years of dealing in law? Wisdom is a gift from God so to me that proves he belongs to the devil.

How?
Hahahah loved your sarcasm 🤣
Why so? I don't understand how it plays out
Tappy toes!!!😂😂😂😂 what a great name for a doooggie!!!🤣🤣
I know men who never raised their voice but were pure evil. They were from multigeneral privileged backgrounds. They were always aware of how they presented themselves. Admired, awarded for their graciousness and community service.
That seemed to have happened with the Gabby Petito case. She was bruised and her eye swollen, but the police still just sent them on their way. Clearly the boyfriend was calm and acting reasonably. They should have had them chill out for a few hours at the police station. Demeanor doesn’t always show guilt.
Exactly
I am from the UK, this man is a credit to the USA, instantly trust everything he says, down to earth, hard working American, and one of the reasons I like the USA so much, and the sort of people that emerge from such a great system
You must haven't seen how the U.S. treat their black citizen's! Such hypocrisy!
Thank you, but....... Guys like this seem rare these days. If I had the desire to be married, this guy would be the man.
Body language definitely speaks volumes with this man!! Definitely confident, not shady!
Can’t imagine the fear that went through Maggie in those seconds she realized her husband had murdered her son and was fixing to meet same fate. I shudder to think about it.
I love Dale! He is a "real" guy that loved the dogs, Maggie and Paul.
100 believe him. Why lie,,,
You are projecting. He didn't seem particularly fond of Maggie and didn't seem to like Paul. They were his employers, not his friends
When they make the Hollywood Blockbuster of this madness, they need this man to star as himself. Get him his own dressing room with a gold star on the door. He’s excellent.
Hollywood will cast as this guy Billy Bob Thornton.
Totally believable ... he's a precise worker, knows his job, takes pride in his work, and he knows exactly what was wrong with that hose.
Yes and now he's unemployed
I love his comments about his day! " I get a shower and Im in my recliner the rest of the day!". AM was trying to wash off gun powder residue before the police showed up. AM should learn a lesson from watching this interview back that even though he was the one with money that hired this guy it's this guy who was the honest faithful hard-working guy who is still on the outside living life. Just cuz you have money doesn't mean you have morals and ethics. Dale has more morals and ethics than AM has in his big thumb.
If these poor dogs could talk, they would have a scary story to tell... Bubba saw his "mommy" being murdered and he couldn't protect her. He knows who the killer was. "my day is done when I get into my recliner" I love his honesty.
Oh my gosh, I think about the dogs too!! 💔💔💔 Traumatic experience for them. It’s all just so horrible.
If those dogs could talk, there'd be no need for a trial.
My Rat Terrier has nightmares and attacks us in the night, from when she was used as a bait dog to train adolescent pit bulls to fight; that was 14 years ago. (I literally stole her from the situation.) I’m sure Bubba has nightmares about seeing his mama hunted down and chased.
