Thankyou very much!! I know nothing too exciting but we don’t get much snow haha so had to make the most of it! We will be having a proper day out with the guys end of this month so will be a really good video coming very soon!! Have you had any snow over your way???
I live in another country and we also have winter, there is also snow, but not as much as you have

Cheers buddy we don’t normally get much snow as close to the coast and we had a fair bit but was melting quick so thought get out have ago and take kids out for bit too nice local lanes nothing that cause any issues for the hilux the 4WD system worked pretty good even got to try the rear locker on a hill climb once it’s kitted out u think it’s going to be pretty good as standard it’s excellent!! 👌

@taffinator9585 yeah I’ll get some tyres off my awesome guys at mudslingerz 4x4 tyres! Think the truck would need a little lift and some under body protection I’ve had a Navara and a mk4 l200 and I really like how the hilux drives feels so good and controlled out on the snow really surprised me even when was in 2wd behaved pretty well my old E36 well used to go everywhere sideways haha!!

Years ago, decades in fact, during a snow day, my old man towed me behind his Daihatsu Fourtrak on my sledge... Back then, uh, health and safety was just more of a suggestion than a rule! But it was hella fun! Except for getting pelted with snow from the rear wheels! (We were on private land with permission I hasten to add!)
Haha great memories there buddy! Don’t see many well if any daihatsu fourtraks anymore can’t remember the last time I saw one very capable vehicle!! 🤘🤘🤘😎
@@ALL_4_WHEELS yeah they were very simple but robust little 4x4s. I hated being the one to have to get out and lock the hubs. That was my other job... when we got the discovery all that stopped which was great! No more hubs. Just a lever to flick and job done.
Ah yes my mate had a mk2 hilux every time we went offroad had to lock and unlock his hubs for him one day didn’t do it properly and smashed he’s hub they are a pain manual hubs!
Start with tyres. I have a 50km commute to work over a mountain range that gets snow and ice in winter. I run BFG Ko2s on mine and they are great. Aggressive all terrains which are also triple peak rated for snow. I carry snow chains but haven't needed them once with those tyres. Perfect choice if you use your truck as a daily during the week then go off road in the weekend. You don't really want to go full mud terrain if you're using it as a daily like the yanks love to do with their Jeeps that never leave pavement.

Ive got 35' m/t tyres and I love them, the noise ,the handling or lack there of , it makes it so much more interesting , but off road its a different beast , pretty much go anywhere , but got to say nice choice bfg ko2s , spicy but worth every penny
Ooh I’d love 35’s would look pretty pukka with those on!! Might go for 33’s in a year or two slow progress with the truck! Did you need to do any work to get the 35’s on??
@@ALL_4_WHEELS nah they go straight on , but a tiny bit of rubbing on the anti roll bar on full lock but otherwise shes good , tried to send you a pic on the email on your channel but wont let me , do you have an email I can send you a pic on ?
@@ALL_4_WHEELS That is the way to do it. Get to know your truck stock first, learn what you find is not quite meeting your requirements and upgrade from there. Ko2s come in all sizes mine are only 33s on a 2 inch lift, I'm driving a '93 Hilux Surf though, your truck is much newer. It's built to get me to work all year which means snow tyres and a snorkel. I have a bridge over a river that also floods sometimes. I just need a reliable daily so I left it fairly close to stock and have never looked in to 35s. Once you start getting too far away from stock it changes a lot of other angles in suspension and axles which needs to be addressed at the same time. Honestly, it's standard practice to do a 2in lift, put 33s on steelies and send it down here in NZ and Oz. Definitely a snorkel if you're going near water, and if you really need one, don't half arse it. Get breathers and seal the airbox (cheap to do). That's all you need to get a stock Hilux where most people can't go... and home again, towing a Land Rover.
low rexs dont spin the wheels you roll the wheels you have traction stay on the un compacted stuff you get more traction .. I love snow especially in europe where it is powder , I kept one as an off road rough terrain truck mine had a factory fitted lsd in the rear I fitted free wheeling hubs to the front / keep 12 foot of rope on stand by for pulling the neibours out when they get stuck
