    • Oh no, they're well aware, it's just that if you live where it gets icy and snows, you can't avoid going out in it altogether. And law of averages says that if you walk on snow and ice enough times, you're going to fall. Yes, even you. Just hope that when it happens to you, you can laugh it off like these folks and not end up cracking a couple of discs and having to get spinal surgery. Or do like I did and live in Florida where you never have to worry about it (but things get wet here quite often, even when not raining and unexpected surfaces can be slick as snot).

  • I love this!!! I've been driving in the snow and ice for almost 4 decades! Practice makes perfect! We just had a huge snow/ice storm for over a week! My boss let me deliver all but one day when we had freezing rain. I went over the coastal mountain range 8x, 6x chains were required, I never chained up, used no snow tires, had "winter" tires and was totally fine! No problems except for nervous Nellie's and Nelson's driving ridiculously slow! They got passed! Every. Single. Time. it snows, I drive around in it for hours! Up hills, around corners, you name it, I challenge myself. Although generally I stay somewhat close to home, I dont go to the mountains just to drive in the snow but I just did for work! My route takes me over the coastal mountain range so I go up one side then leave at a different end over the same range but about 30 miles apart. I'm so lucky my boss trusted me to take care of our customers! I knew they'd be upset and I was right! I heard all sorts of complaints that my competition hadn't been out delivering all week! I did see them yesterday (Friday) finally! And see, the people at the coast were all there at their jobs, working as they rarely get snow. They did but my 30 mile stretch of hwy 101 was cleared by Wednesday/Thursday for the most part. I know by Friday 101 was snow and ice free just a lil water. Sorry for rambling! I'm just like a kid in a candy store when it comes to driving in the snow! ☮️💜

    • Honestly I was SO excited to be allowed to work (delivery driving) in the snow that I was on such a natural high that I had trouble getting to sleep! I've worked for FedEx, they wouldn't let me deliver in the snow. And another local company, actually the one above I referenced that hadn't been out all week, they wouldnt let me either! I did see UPS out delivering, so they were putting FedEx to shame and I was putting our competition to shame! Now it's almost all gone! Although our states state of emergency is not over! We're a mess! Downed trees EVERYWHERE!! Oh and I saw 2 eagles and a whole huge herd of elk this week!! 😅
