Woodturning: An Easy Project With Small Logs👍
A super and simple idea to make for a beginner who wants to obtain a nice result with his wood lathe and a little epoxy resin.
In this project, I am using hazel and birch logs.
The finish is ensured by meticulous sanding and abrasive paste enriched with oil and then carnauba wax.
It is always in a relaxed and relaxing atmosphere of the asmr type that I film my work in order to share my ideas with you.
Good viewing !!

Bon visionnage !!

Morgan, sometimes looking at your work brings actual tears to my eyes. I am a 56 year old "doesn't mind getting his hands dirty" type of man by the way. Luckily I also embrace my feelings, so I enjoy that you evoke them. You have an exceptional talent mate. By far my favourite Woodturner. Thanks, Joel.

Thank you so much 😊
Beautiful! It's a piece of art! I loved it! ❤
Thank you so much Andrea I’m very glad you like it ❤️🌸
What a fascinating piece. The orientation of the wooden pieces makes a great pattern in the finished bowl. However, what surprised me was the way that the resin did not play a huge part in the finished item, it actually looked like wood, to me. Thank you Morgan for another gratifying post, marvellous job. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hi The Pagan Thank you so much for your comment 😉👍👍I’m Glad you appreciate this piece 😊

Even better than the triangle version, in particular the grain of the wood is just amazing ... the red resin being poured was like watching strawberry sauce being poured over some fancy cake, delicious 🤣

Now that is an amazingly beautiful piece! The way it shows off the grain in that wood is gorgeous. And then the pops of red. WOW!!

Beautiful. The shapes look like something between a lava lamp and Dali's melted clocks.
Thank you so much 😉👍👍
Beautiful piece. Perfect resin color! ❤️ The woods and resin color go together so nicely! Awesome job! 👍
Thank you so much 😉👍
Very beautiful bowl I love how you made it out of logs the different woods compliment each other very well also the resin color is perfectly fine with them as well!
Thank you so much Maria 😊🌸I’m Very glad you like it 👍
Super beau.
Merci beaucoup Sophie 🌸

A lovely and intriguing design. The warmth of the red resin definitely sets off the different aspects of the wood colours and grains. Amazing as always! ❤👏
Thank you very much Lynn😊🌸
Pretty neat Morgan! I like how the red wasn't too bright, turned to a more burgundy color with translucent areas! I was honestly surprised when you didn't use blue lol!

Merci Lily 🌸💕💕
Great work😊😊😊

Lovely again. It's interesting that the resin looked much closer to orange when the piece was finished than when it was poured.
yes indeed these are the effects of light 😉 thank you for your comment 🌸
Beautiful!
Thank you so much 😊
Absolutely stunning the way the red goes against the lighter wood! And it makes the darker colors look even richer.❤ I love the green in the second little log that is so beautiful! Thank you once again for sharing your wonderful talent with us!😊❤ take care!

Thank you so much Dellani 🌸💕🌸
@@bawbreizhartwood You're very welcome.
Its super nice but i have to ask why didnt you put small pieces in the base and a large soft wood waste piece in the middle to save on resin👍
The piece is not very thick, this is not justified 😉
@@bawbreizhartwood thanks i like to know 👍
Morgan.
An absolutely beautiful piece! Do you ever sell pieces you make? I would love to have this!
thank you very much Vicki 😊 yes I sometimes sell my pieces
Beautiful work once again Morgan, I am wondering where you sourced your mould, it is really quite innovative.
Craig Thank you 😉 I did it myself
Excellent work as always but I, as well as others would like to know how you made that silicone mold. Maybe you said in a different post but I've missed it. Thank you very much keep up the good work.
Thank you very much 😉 I will soon make a video to demonstrate how I make these molds
@@bawbreizhartwood that'll be great I sure hope I don't miss it.. you probably have different sizes to I'm guessing. Looking forward to it
👁️👁️🤔👍👍👍🤝
😉
Waaaaw. As usual a fantastic piece of art. I have a question. Where can I find the moulds that you use ? The soft and the hard one ? Seems very easy to use. Now I always struggle to loosen the epoxy from whatever form or object that I use. Thank you in advance and lots of greetings from Belgium !!
Koen Thank you very much my Belgian friend 😉💖 I make these molds myself. To release your pieces from your molds more easily, you can use silicone to spray in the mold before pouring your resin.
I am always inspired by your work, the color combinations are incredible. Do you put these in a pressure pot to cure? I am a beginning bowl turner, will be a while before I am ready for something this ambitious.
christopher Thank you very much for your comment 😉 yes this kind of piece needs to put the resin under pressure
I follow your channel all the time. Many of your latter projects involve epoxy resin. Is there a viable alternative to use of pressure pots for resin curing in your opinion?
Randy thank you for watching my channel😉 there are other alternatives to harden the resin but the subject is more complex. to make this kind of part with many gas exchange surfaces and many small nooks and crannies it is very interesting to use a low viscosity epoxy resin and to put it under pressure.
Yet another gorgeous piece. I've been looking for molds like that but haven't had any luck; the closest I've come are silicone cake pans, but they're only 2" deep. Did you find those online somewhere?
I designed and made it myself
Beautiful piece, great job! If I may ask, where did you get that mold you use?
John Thank you 😉 I designed and made the molds myself
This is a beautiful bowl. What are you measuring at the beginning?
Thank you very much😉 At the beginning of the video I measure the moisture content in the wood to make sure that it will be compatible with epoxy resin
I would love to know where you got the silicone bucket and the outer bucket in two halves! It looks like these make resin casting a lot easier!
I made myself this molds 😉
Beautiful as always! When can I purchase a silicone mold ?
Dennis thank you 😉 I will soon put some on sale
Im curious about that two part mold and inner liner you use. Where did you get it?
Gary I made it myself 😉
@@bawbreizhartwood any chance you made a video on that?
Yes maybe 🤔
