Vauxhall Cavalier Gsi2000 Restoration in 15 minutes!
Here is the restoration of my Vauxhall Cavalier GSI2000.
I bought the car in July 2009 with the intention of a few interior upgrades.
I ended up fitting a FULL interior out of a late spec Cavalier Diplomat. Every trim and plastic that was available to convert the horrible beige, walnut and grey interior to full black leather luxury! Even the late spec passenger airbag dashboard and heated lather.
A year later it was looking very tired so me and a group of very good mates carried out an express restoration. Everything was done in house in our sheds and it came out as a show stopping article, and the full restoration took just one month!!
A full and very detailed build thread can be found here:

If I’d have put ALL the pictures into this video it would be quite a few hours long!
It looks better than when came out of the factory
My God. I fucking loved my Cav. Gotta get another.
As ghandi once said, before you change the world let the change begin within your cavalier gsi
Looks 👌 glad the leather interior was put in!
Nice work! Pure classic.
Clean wee car mate my dad tells me me he’s had lots of Vauxhall’s especially cavaliers
I'm doing my 1994 16V GLS soon. I will be bare metal prepping, then repairing ALL suspect areas, spraying with Zinga (galvanising paint) inside, outside, in box sections, EVERYWHERE. Next is epoxy primer, prep again, white primer, then House of Kolor S2-SG05 (two coats) then a diamond hard 2K clearcoat. The underside will be sprayed with POR15 chassis black, epoxy paint, then Limpetite rubber (used to coat submarines) in the wheelarches to stop drumming. Same for insides of doors etc, then the interior, box sections etc will be flood filled with PX32 left overnight then drained. Job done. Cannot, will not rust after that. Everything else is stock.
Fantastic job
sweet job mate
Fantastic job!! Would love help with mine!. Nice one.👏👏👏
What a machine i Love cavys u have smashed this 1 out the park good job another 1 saved 😃👍
Thanks for watching 😁
Gorgeous 🙂had a few cavaliers back in the day...great cars. Would have another in a heartbeat ( although it would probably be ma last if the misses had anything to do with it 😂)
I fully rate you for taking the time to change that HORRIBLE cream interior/carpets/dashboard for that sexy black leather one 😍 You even painted that ugly fake wood trim! Exactly how I'd have mine.. Top man!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Looks good :) I have a C20NE Vectra A, it's in quite bad condition mainly because of the rust, but I've been thinking about repairing it and driving it when I get my license :P
Awesome job I love the cav gsi it must have cost you a fair fortune to bring it back to this standard
Thank you! It was just the cost of the paint and panels as we did all the work ourselves.
Lovely
Beautiful
Thank you 😁
I see this has been off the road since 2016 what's happened to it , it you done an amazing job on it
Thanks. I sold it in 2010 I think, and it went to ireland, then i heard it went to Scotland, but unsure where it ended up
Show 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Geiler Motor.
Lovely job, was engine crane good for lifting the car on its side? did you ever change chasis in Cavalier?
Thank you, yes engine crane lifted the car up no problem. Do you mean chassis rails? It was all very solid underneath, the rust was just cosmetic on the outside.
Oh how i miss A 16V BK.....cav gsi turbo.
Maşallah müdür temiz toplamışsın arabayı 😉
Good afternoon everyone, I live in Brazil and I have a Chevrolet Vectra gls 2.0, but I want to buy some original parts of the Opel or Vauxhall Cavalier model, such as the taillights and front grille. Here in Brazil it is very difficult to find these parts, I want some help to find them if anyone knows
👍👌❤️😉
How much did you spend on it?
Just the cost of paint and some panels, I did all the work myself and got a friend to paint it.
I'd rather have that than a Mercedes SLK. I have a GLS hatch '94 still looks like new!
Thanks for watching 😁 yes big regrets selling this one!
How much did it cost you all in all ?
Just the cost of paint and panels, and lots of time and great mates!
Super Ron best colour in my opinion, great job
How much would this car cost?
I sold it 10+ years ago for £2500, now it would be would be worth £10+k
@@SuperRon if you can build me one I’ll give you 10k
If only I had the time 😀 glad you enjoyed it!
@@SuperRon I have a sharp eye for quality and business potential when I see one. If I knew you better I would encourage to build a company for restoring one particular make and model. This is the future. Especially when the West is moving to EV in 2030. This business will blow like house on fire. Get in touch if you ever need to.
What the name of wheels on the finished car
Technomagnesio Detroit F1s 👍
What was using the colore code
Sorry I cant remember
🤗😍👌👍
I also rebuilt my Opel Astra f 94,,in 11 years ago, and lost a lot of money, anyway, it was very attractive to me, but I was very much blamed for it... i think previous interior color was much better
It is a passion 😁 thanks for watching!
What are the alloy wheels called please?
Tecnomagnesio detroit f1's 👍
@@SuperRon thanks, what size and offset are they? Or can you send me a link of where you bought them from please? I have a cavalier identical to yours and really want them wheels . Also is your car lowered? If so by how much please?
These are old wheels from the early 2000's, i sold the car 10 years ago, I doubt they are many left now. They were 18inch, cant remember the offset but I think ET 40something
@@SuperRon ok thanks was your car lowered? If do you remember by how much? Did the wheels ever run at all?
Yes was lowered just on shocks and springs, cant remember by how much. All ran nice with no rubbing
guys, help pls. i need code of original color f
It was Satin Red, it was over 10 years ago now, but I 'THINK' it was 73L originally but we painted it the later 72L colour, it was something like that
@@SuperRon Thank u, this is what i need)
Like I said it was a long time ago, so double check the numbers 👍
