  • People forget Spurs took 18 games to concede a single goal from a corner. 23 games until the 2nd goal conceded and it started being a thing in the media.. There was originally a lot of praise for their defending at set pieces, but it's easier to just look at recent form. There's obviously been a drop off and teams are targeting that since the second Everton game, but Ange is right not to overreact and panic his squad/staff into doubling their time training set pieces. If they get better at controlling games more generally and get a couple stronger aerial players in, it's very quickly not a huge issue.

Tottenham fans are SO quick with the knives. No wonder your trophy cabinet holds a lot of dust. Hang in there Ange these fans are bi-polar.

  • As a Celtic fan,we still have problems with set pieces but I do get where Ange is coming from if you buy the best defenders and goalie you shouldn't need to spend a lot of time coaching them how to defend. Where he does need to change in the PL is until he gets the world-class players to play his system he should have a plan B regarding formation changes. He got away with it in Scotland ,he will never get away with it in the PL even with 11 world-class players.

  • I don't really get the spurs argument...you're angry becuase you're 5th? I mean credit to villa who I don't think have a better squad but are over performing . But can spurs really say they have a better team than Liverpool...arsenal or man city? I assume spurs fans are not delusional so the answer must be no .....so how can you be dissatisfied with being below them ? Or is it not the the actual being 5th or just the losing a couple in the row ? But this is synonymous with being 5th you're gonna lose games . This manager came in ..successfully galvanised a team ...successfully improved the way they play now now he needs time and money to put better players in who arnt good enough to finish in the top 4. Which again spurs must admit there are players in that squad who sre just not champions league level so again how would you demand them to get champions league football. For me I see a team that could be argued to be the 6th ..5th or 4th best team in the league and they're sitting at 5th. Fair enough for a manger who's just come in and hasn't brought in his style of player yet.

    @luker2273@luker227317 күн бұрын
    • No only that we've lost the best English striker since Wayne Rooney, and are still 5th. Imagine Liverpool losing Salah and still being close or in the top 4.

    • @pyrrhusepirus7181 but that's my point ...you're in a decent position considering everything . I don't know any teams that could lose like 50 goal involvements a season and still knock on champions league football that's why I'm saying I don't understand why there's any anger towards ange right now .

    • We don't have a better team than Liverpool, Arsenal, or City but the thing that changes it for me is that we didn't have any European football and did nothing in the cups either. Not having the congestion of games is supposed to be an advantage (so you would believe from Pep's and Klopp's rants over the years). So to have no European football, do nothing in the cups, and still falling short of top 4 with a few games to go, is failure for me. Especially for what's supposed to be considered a big team. Chelsea had no European football either and have performed poor in the league but at least they went far in the cups.

      @joewhite22@joewhite2217 күн бұрын
    • @joewhite22 but you haven't been a good cup team for a while really. And new managers don't change that you've had some of the best cup competition managers of all time and that didn't change so why would bringing ange in get you a cup. The team is in dire needs of some players with experience in going far in cup competitions, you won't just automatically get that mentality in the squad . I just don't see the connection between not finishing above 5th , not having a good cup run and ange . If the style of play was awful and the team seemed unhappy I'd be like ok yeah the managers to blame here. But the team looks behind him and plays some nice football you just lack some quality and lack players with experience in winning none of those things are anges fualt

  • This was a terrible Chelsea team with 70% of their first team out injured and we hardly laid a glove on them!.. A pathetic performance…. It’s so obvious that the team are now struggling to buy into Ange’s tactics. There’s not creativity in attack, the midfield are nonexistent or tripping over each other because they don’t really know where they should be, and the defensive play it quite literally Sunday league stuff!.. And all this with what is in my humble opinion a good squad of players!.. Especially defenders!.. Ange keeps telling us they don’t have many matches, well why the hell isn’t he working with the team to irradiate the most basic of issues?.. I’m sorry to say and obviously would love to be proven wrong but I feel the Premier League is a stap too far for “Ange-ball”!..
