Well... Here we are, the Razer Viper mini is gone and all we are left with is the new Razer Cobra. Now this is easily the most controversial mouse release of 2023, seeing on how popular and loved the Viper & Viper Mini shape was Razer is taking a HUGE risk here ending that product line and trying to release a replacement in the form of the Razer Cobra & Cobra Pro. But who knows, maybe there is more than meets the eye here!

Hey, small correction: The Cobra (wired) is using an 8K DPI sensor, same that was found in the Viper Wired, the Cobra Pro is using the Focus Pro 30K Sensor. Sorry about that!
Looking for a new mouse, got a Viper Mini and would like something similar, braided cable, small and lightweight. I was looking for the Cobra, but I heard it's like the mini but cheaper in terms of quality, any suggestions for me ? The scroll wheel is horrible, clicking and scrolling, annoying sound while scrolling and the click is hard and not constant.
Switch implementation is different so thats why they feel different also big fan

Cobra switches for sure, even though they're both Gen 3 optical they feel very different.

I don’t have a viper to compare it directly to but I have noticed that the sensor’s LOD is pretty funky, still trying to figure out what exactly is happening…
@@mel0nFPS ah damn it, its not fixed then...I've heard you could do some tricks with synapse to improve it but honestly very disappointing

@@nootonian4149They did fix it. I used the Viper Mini since it’s launch and using the Cobra. Definitely a huuuge improvement in LOD. It stops tracking at 1dvd which is about 1mm.

viper mini got killed off by this? razer is getting wayyy too out of touch, we wait this long and all we get is a mouse with nearly the same specs as the viper mini? its the same mouse, exept it has a different shape and its 3 grams lighter, and chances are its probably gonna feel worse in games because i doubt the shape is gonna be as good as the viper mini

Razer rep said on Reddit that the Viper Mini didn't sell that well outside of the enthusiast community. They aren't out of touch but they prioritized the more mainstream audience vs enthusiast ESPECIALLY when it comes to the wireless Cobra Pro.
Razer is 100% targeting the main-stream community with the Cobra and Cobra pro, hence why there is so much RGB on the two models, makes sense as they need to make money but I do find making the viper-shape exclusive to the SE edition rather questionable. We'll have to see how the cobra holds up in testing, maybe it'll be OK?
