  • I had to watch this again. I am impressed with this humpback's remarkable intelligence. She knows exactly when to come back each year. She also keeps this secret to herself. She then wiggles through a small hole and eats up all the fish in the small pen then wiggles back out. Kudos to the salmon farmer for not hurting her.

  • The hatchery should start offering tours or ask for supporting donations to assist with the cost. This is a wonderful "once in a lifetime" moment that should - despite the cost- be considered a great moment in nature.     • She is a big girl she has to get her weight in food. I mean is it that much of a surprise it would have happened eventually that whales or other wildlife took a good chunk of the salmon it was their food source first we have been killing them off by taking it and by using our boats in the waters they live in. Kind of arrogant to think they're reserved only for humans or be upset when this is nature being nature.

    • The whale knows where he is an what he's doing, he's perfectly safe so long as he's in eye shot of her. If he got below or behind her, that might get dangerous - because a fluke slap from a big whale can cause enough water pressure to stun you. Some whales hunt by that method..

  • My grandfather worked at a Salmon hatchery/Mink Farm. Used to go there every year in the 80s and early 90s when he retired. Was near Puyallup, WA. Best times I swear. Pugeot Sound we would see the weirdest fish , Crab and Whales, go up into Mt Rainier in the Summer and play in the snow and I'm from Chicago and even at a young age I would think my people's in Chgo would laugh they ass off knowing I'm playing in snow in the Summertime. WA hopefully will be my final resting spot.
