  • Roglic: “We showed nice racing” “still I can be happy with the result and the racing we showed here.” “Let’s take positive things out.” “No matter what age he is, he deserves it.” Phenomenal mindset. Total class, consummate sportsmanship and a true gentleman.

    • @Brainjock Does it matter? I personally think they are all doping at this level (therefor somewhat equal), as I'm sure they do it a lot in other disciplines as well. But constantly talking about it, especially at the end of world's biggest GT, with no real reason to be suspicious, just brings nothing but a bad image to the sport

  • I chose to belive he is clean. There is a ne age in cycling with younger and younger people winning. See last year too. Younger people have higer VO2 max and recover faster than older guys. Normally it takes more years with correct training to achive the effectiveness in the entire system. But with more knowledge about training i belive the younger guys now come into the circus with a more complete endurance system and can really utilize their higher VO2 max.

  • It was a mental breakdown in the case of Roglic I am sure. The weight of expectation got to him. I know we all have bad days but Primoz showed no chinks in his armour until that bike change. We're all human and that what makes sport. The mental aspect is equal to the physical side. Only Pogacar was 'up for the fight'. Being his first Tour and being so young, maybe he didn't realise the history he was making.

No more Froome, Sagan, Cavendish and Valverde, half dozen 20's something van Aert, Van der Poel, Pogacar, Bernal, Kragh Anderson and Hirschi have taken this abbreviated season apart. Like how his coaches were saying he was already hitting numbers such as 6.7 watts per kg at the age of only 17 or how a Slovene ex pro cyclist saw him at the U14 race for the first time when he was 13 and thought he was bad because he was riding a bit behind the big group of cyclists, but then realized he wasn't actually behind, he was just in the lead for almost an entire lap. But of course you don't know any of that stuff because you're not Slovene and therefore only found out about Pogačar 2 years ago, when he's actually been doing amazing things for a long time.
