Now this place is nothing short of spectacular! If you're a fan of minimalist, modern design then you will absolutely love this compact studio home in the south of England. Situated in an urban backyard, the studio home is technically an annex and has been beautifully designed to blend perfectly into its surroundings.
From the moment you step inside you know you’re some place very special. It’s a symphony of minimalist design that has been so wonderfully blended with cozy features and functional composition.
Even more impressive than the homes design is it’s owner, Cairo, a musician, artist and all-round creative. He has crafted this as a base from which to create his art from, including amazing elements such as music recording / editing studio and also an open space for photography. Beyond that, his home has been designed around family life, entertaining and building community.
There is a tremendous amount to love about this very special home design. We hope you enjoy the full video tour of this unbelievable home.

    • Yeah, but these videos of some kid using their parents' property to make a tiny house, etc gets old fast. In most places, you can't have a standalone tiny house due to code/laws so it ends up coming off more as parents helping their hippy disappointment more than anything

    @kva7922046@kva79220465 ай бұрын
    • For now. That can change. I don't begrudge rich people their ability to buy or commission prototypes either. Eventually if the new concept is popular it becomes more affordable. It's like ppl don't need to buy a new bike at first, they can buy secondhand & see how it suits them. Then they sell it on & the next owner gets to enjoy it. So anyone building a small or tiny home will gradually demonstrate how livable they are. Then planning permission guidelines can be changed to allow more people to have their own spaces.

  • Cairo's minimalist, monochromatic home fits in beautifully with the overall lovely space he requires to create. He must have sound-color synthesia 🎸🎶🌈, so understandably he prefers a "blank canvas" interior in order not to be distracted while creating his colorful music. It's spacious, well designed, and a wonderful place to connect with his family and friends. Cairo is a true Renaissance man who creates music, sings, as well as does photography, nutrition, breathwork coach, editing, producing, etc. His minimalist home belies his multi-faceted, multi-talented personality! • Absolutely gorgeous! And the house isn't bad either! On a serious note though, this is so perfect. I'm not a minimalist at heart, but I find myself happiest in a minimalist home. For me, it's a mental health thing, I need the clean and clear environment. But my art space is where I collect all my little eccentric bits and bobs. And if I had a garden, that would also be a celebration of colours. For a calm soul though, I need a calm home.

  • Not being in any way a minimalist, I was not sure how I'd view this one. BUT, with Cairo's enthusiasm and explanations and all of his creativity, I LOVE this small home with him in it - it's so perfect for him! And he is so wonderful to listen to and to watch as he talks. I really and truly enjoyed your visit with Cairo, in his beautiful home - it has everything he needs there, and then some. I'm happy for him, and I wish him well, always. 😊

  • Having the lot on the street side really help since he can have an entrance that comes off directly from the street and so doesn't require walking past the main house always. It gives the back unit much more autonomy when he wants it.

    • It's a great point in favour of adding smaller homes. Their garden is very likely much quieter with the completed building between that and the street. So many people would love to downsize to a tiny home and still live in a familiar neighborhood. It's not all about being in the middle of a forest, as Cairo said.

  • Cairo designed an amazing home. It’s nice to see a smaller home, even though it’s not a true tiny home. The pull out closet under the stairs is brilliant! The whole place is a sanctuary, and I love the natural light from above, plus the huge doors leading to the beautiful garden offer uncluttered views. I think it’s so interesting that he has synesthesia. The white/blank wall spaces give him a blank canvas on which he sees color while creating music. So cool!

  • I’m glad you mentioned assisted living set up, the prices to live in those places is outrageous too. There are soo many over 60 people that are not rich and will be living on Social Security in the next 10 years. I would like to see more of that type, because they need the security of living in a safe area with neighbors that help each other and are done with babysitting, but love to garden and stay active.

  • That is so interesting. I am overloaded by too much talking and the wrong music, but my walls are covered with my brightly colored art. I see colors for everything as well, but white and gray depresses me. I am minimalist in all other ways, with lots of open space to work on many various projects.

  • What a beautiful and charismatic person Cairo is! I was very struck by the association of colors with sound. As a musician and music therapist, I'm absolutely connected with what he said. The house is wonderful, a real dream, simple, elegant and functional. And you Bryce (as I have written before) are the great inspiration of this whole tiny houses movement that is becoming bigger and bigger! We're not only discovering "magic" homes but also interesting people. A hug to you and Rasa

  • My child said "I hear a red beep" then he got sick to his stomach. Years later as an adult, he was diagnosed with synesthesia. We had no idea there was such a thing when he was a kid. I really like this minimalist type home. The colors and textures are perfect. I also love this guy's attitude, kindness, and personality!

  • Dear Cairo in 1978 I bought a studio flat in Maia Vale, W9. I was near everything and had a room tiny kitchen and tiny bathroom. I lived there for 3 Years and loved every minute. I'm my room I had enough space for a sofa that opened To a double; a single bed that folded into the wall. I had a gate legged table that when opened sat 6; I am so jealous of you. Do enjoy it they were the best years I loved it. Have FUN !! Vivienne Bilney

  • I am very fond of this house, everything is well thought. 😊 many good ideas. I like the fact that you can practise yoga, or dance preparation, and you can sing or play music in the studio, stay creative thanks to the work room, and rest immediately on the sofa when you are too tired …you do not have to walk a lot, you can fall immediately on it and take a small nap or take a cup of tea, make a small pause. The opening window is great … the sun ☀️ comes generously inside and it is important for the energy 😊👍🏻💐 This is an ideal home for a creative person. I remember this home now. 👍🏻Namaste 🙏🏻Thank You so much 💐
