  • Using frost walker, yes, frost walker, if you walk on water and place sand on the ice, once the ice breaks the sand would fall to the bottom of the ocean. So, you can place like 5 blocks of sand per second. Meaning you might be able to drain a ocean monument faster.

  • A couple tips: Only clear out the kelp and sea grass inside of the shape. That way there won't be naked spots around the shape. Use an automatic sand pusher thing to not have to place the blocks slowly (there'll probably be a tutorial on KZhead) Hold F3 and right click, then press t. This will make it so that you don't have to hold down right click, blocks will be placed automatically and you can just use your mouse wheel to scroll to the next stack of sand.

  • I did this with a friendly recently. We found doing a grid to be less frustrating with the sponges, but that's a lot of time placing sand/gravel. Ultimately it's nice because you can build a guardian farm inside for unlimited cod and prismarine, and there's lots of space to fill it as a base. We hollowed it out completely and then made our own rooms in the shape we needed. Took us a few weeks because it's so monotonous.

    • I second this, you can basically AFK the entire wall divider placement doing this, bar moving the contraption once the push limit is reached but that only takes like 10 second. Combine that with flying machines in the Aisles of the walls and clearing water is just along process and not really much of manual one. You don't even need any sponges really. Although they do help for the uneven parts at the bottom of the trenches. I managed to clear a 150 diameter circle with like 30 sponges or less.

Loot as many monuments as you can 2. make a automated furnace with hoppers and chests 3. rotate couple stacks of sponges and wet sponges in the furnace you use 2 stacks, go to the automatic furnace, dump all wet ones in and take the dry ones. sure you could also portal to nether, but with the furnaces you can do something else at the same time while they dry, like keep on draining water or making the sections.

  • Having only 35 sponges made this kinda a pain to drain, but my tactic is just to place the sponges 1 block under the water surface and place them every 3rd block. that way i got a very nice and clean drain process. Also i used a hoe so picking up the sponges doesn't take 51 years when you're in the water. placing all the sand absolutely sucked but it also feels rewarding knowing you didn't use any machines n stuff. just sharing my experience over here. drained about 60% of the monument as of right now.

    • Agreed I completed draining an ocean monument in a 2 day afk session. Only spent about 2-3 hours setting it up. Used a sand duper to get required materials, then fed it into a dispenser and fired at me. Did some math as too how much sand I would need and built the Ilmango design. Then just used torches to get rid of the sand. It’s honestly hard to watch people do it manually.

  • I developed my own more efficient way of draining when I built my ocean base. Make it 5 blocks of space between the walls and place 2 netherack and 1 sponge and keep doing that in the middle. Then drop down 3 blocks and do it again. Once I used all my sponge I ran long it with a macro spam switching between my netherite hoe and pick to break it all. You then dry the sponge in the nether and repeat.

    @sandrakiss8711@sandrakiss87112 жыл бұрын
  • For anyone wondering. I'm doing this myself and I learned a few things along the way. 1. If you make a square right around monument It will take approximately 3 shulkerboxes of blocks to enclose it. 2. For draining the most efficient way that uses the least sponges is 1 block under water level separated by 2 blocks then on 3rd block another sponge. it takes about 2 stacks of sponges this way. 3. For doing sand lines every 5 blocks, you can create redstone contraption that atumaticly pushes blocks for you so you just stand in one spot and place blocks. All you need is 4 solid blocks, redstone dust, repeater and redstone torch. You place piston on either side of piston 1 solid block. Under that block place one block diagonally in front of placed block and put redstone dust on it. Then leave 1 block gap for sand to be placed and then 2 solid blocks with repeater pointing into sand block and behind repeater redstone torch and just start placing blocks. 4. Please spend 1 hour making Warden mob switch as it shortens usage of your sanity and overall draining progress for about 3 hours, maybe more. 5. it takes around 20-30 hours constant grind to drain monument. 6. use fully enchanted hoe for easy sponge breaking and for the love of god don't use furnace to dry, use the nether. Open to any questions about it.

  • I found draining easiest if you run 5block wide channels along the shape you selected (i went a 128 block wide oval) then just run along the Z or X axis of the map in a straight line placing the sponges 1 block below the water source in the centre of the channel, then drop down 2 blocks so your head is directly under that row of sponges and repeat. This can be achieved with as little as 1 stack of sponges and 1stack of scaffolding. But the more you have the faster it goes.
