  • Khabib's striking was soo bad that he almost didn't get touched at all in a 25 min fight against a dangerous guy.

    • nad sim do you know why? Becuase Al was worried about that low single. Look at the later rounds, leaning more on his front foot ready to sprawl. Al was really hesitate to let his hands go from khabib's early takedown success.

  • I really enjoy the way coach Javier knows that Khabib isn’t gonna stand with these other fighters. He isn’t like other coaches that say “Oh we can fight em on the feet and take him down whenever we want.” Coach Javier did a great job at staying humble and giving props to Al and Connor and even Nate. Much respect!!!

    • Those comments helped himself. Because it shows he's honest. But it doesn't help khabib. Because you are not painting him as invincible to the casuals. He is doing a disservice to khabib. Coming to publicly admit he has lesser striking skills. He can believe that it's ok. He can tell khabib that it's ok. But going on camera to tell the casuals that is not ok. He only helped himself with those comments he didn't help khabib at all.

He didn't swing wildly--if anyone was swinging for the fences, it was Iaquinta, obviously trying to get the knockout (being the only way he'd win the fight once he reached the 3rd round). I was impressed with Khabib, absolutely dominated on the ground, and standing, he was solid.

  • Javier Mendes is a terrific coach. Despite the language barrier and an idealogical lacuna, he's always successfully realised what it takes to control a monster like Khabib and gather respect. Javier understands what is required for Khabib to win, he's a master tactician and excellent at studying Khabib's opponents. In addition to that, he's also always realised what Khabib's father envisioned and wanted Mendes to do. People say that Mendes got lucky that talents have walked in his gym. That's true but without Javier's vision, tactics and ability to work with such strength athletes that could turn into loose canons they would not be where they are.

  • Conor might never fight Khabib now, now that Khabibs coach admitted they wouldn’t stand with him. There goes Conor fans wet dream of Conor knocking him out. Now they’re praying the Eddie Alverez fight plays out the same lol

  • There is plenty that Joe Rogan doesn't understand. Mainly politics & social issues. However, fighting is the one topic Joe understands fully.

  • Joe just wanted to make Khabib look human just to lure Conor into fighting him, cause his boss Dana told him to...look into it

  • 21:19 sums up Javier's opinion on Joe Rogan. Nobody is perfect, and as usual, the internet is quick jump on someone's mistake and make it like it's the end of the world to which somebody is stupid, should lose their job or go to jail. Jeezuz some people need to take a deep breath and relax.

  • It's not so much how bad his stand up is or isn't it's his lack of power. He was swinging and landing on al. But didn't rock him once. Sure al was was beat up but never got rocked.

  • To me it seemed that after the 2nd round Khabib was standing with Iaquinta because he was unable to take him down. He made lots of takedown attempts that pretty much all failed after 2nd. Thus he resorted to just boxing( and he won the striking overwhelmingly), So for me it seems like spin to say he was standing because he choose to rather then was forced to. Obviously I am not an expert though so what the hell do I know?

  • Jo and co commentary on Jan vs Izzy: Joe Rogan: "If Jan can't do anything about these feints I think the ref is going to have to step in and stop this fight... This is brutal!" DC: "I know Joe! His corner might want to think about protecting their fighter if he makes it out if this round. You hate to see fighters eat THIS MANY unanswered feints!" Anik: "Ummm.... Fight clock bought to you by Modelo. Brewed with a fighting spirit."

  • Why does he say he has no holes in his game yet acknowledges he has a hole in his game. "He's growing, he's growing, he knows he's no striker." I thought it was constructive criticism needs to quit being defensive.

  • Genuine question: I do Wushu Sanda Kickboxing, Muay Thai & a little Jiu Jitsu, just not all at the same time! So I'm asking: In MMA, is it legal to knee Khabib when he's going for that diving takedown? He's sometimes very sloppy when going for it. Don't want a big discussion, just a yes or no answer. Cheers

    • If he is on his feet diving, yes. If he is on his knees, no.

      @YaGurlshanaenae@YaGurlshanaenae6 жыл бұрын
    • Yes, if his hands are not in contact with the floor. If any hand is touching the floor they are considered a ‘downed opponent’ and you can’t knee or kick, I believe. Although it is worth noting that a good wrestler will hide his attempts behind other shots and shoot quick, just like hiding your power shots behind jabs.
