The relative value of their stocks have changed and maybe I would reconsider if Nate deserves the fight right now. Maybe Connor V Masvidal for the BMF-belt would be a better fit now, and maybe if Connor loses, then the trilogy with Nate could be next. How frequent it happens has nothing to do with it. Rules are there for a reason. The referees should be enforcing them in the first instance. Mistake or not. Fighters would think twice then wouldnt they. That knee on the ground, Conor should have had a point taken there and then. You can't punish one fighter and let the next get away with it. What if that had knocked khabib out or even dazed him. Should be no tolerance for it what so ever.

Kavanagh is one of the best coaches in the business, very cool and honorable both in victory and defeat. And he is right that their training camp focused more on defence rather than on offence as evidenced by what went down. That said, an adjustment in their training focus could have the contest more competitive. But I seriously doubt it if the result would be any different. Of course, Conor's ego would ensure an immediate rematch. It will surely be bigger in terms of PPV and live audience. More profit for the UFC. But in that match, he will really be humbled and his face really "smeshed."

I was actually impressed with Conor in the first round, he looked very calm and relaxed while he was on his back and didn't waste his energy by trying to explode back to his feet. When the second round started he should have been more switched on but after he got caught with that right it completely changed the narrative of the fight which led to the submission. Would definitely be interested in a rematch but I think Conor should fight Ferguson and then the winner of that gets Khabib.
@jammyjammy19975 жыл бұрын
Im 3yrs late but help me explain how that insignificant overhand right “Change the narrative of the fight“. Khabib feinted for a td. Connor reacted and started to move the overhand right connects but doesnt nothing. I know and say this because in previous fights anytime Khabib lands at overhead right he rushes in with a flying knee. Conors but didnt ever actually hit the canvas. Essentially conor drops to one knee & evaded Khabibs knee. Lands one of his own and they keep trading until a few moments later when Khabib gets another td.

What a smart guy this coach is. Very honest and interesting interview. Conor is very lucky to have this guy in his corner. I hope he is getting the bucks he deserves. I hope for Conor’s sake that any money he makes going forward is icing on a cake that can never be eaten. It would be very sad if Conor gets hurt and ends up broke. He should never come close to having money problems even if he retires right now. Conor is smart but if he is spending more than he is making then he is a real fool. Please. Conor, don’t let your ego control you. You will regret it deeply later. Showing off is ok if it’s pure fun, but if if becomes important then you end up miserable the minute you lose your edge, and that can always happen. The attack of that bus worried me. I never thought Conor would ever stoop to that kind of foolishness. Get your feet back in the ground. Happiness is not about ego, it’s about love. Attacking busses is ego. Its a bad thing. If it was a stunt for attention then it’s a real pity. You have enough money. You do not need to risk going to prison. I really hope it’s not steroids because if it is you are in big trouble. Fix it right now. Do not wait until you are in the gutter. Climbing out of the gutter for a fighter is a recipe for disaster. Have fun, all of you guys. Life is about fun.

Did I hear Conor’s coach actually say “it’s Khabib time “? Ouch😫
P B haha it came across that way but I think he was implying that McGregor thinks it’s time to fight Khabib again. “Khabib time” if you listen to it again you’ll get what I’m saying.
Hoodie Harrelson I see what you mean. It could also be a Freudian slip.
This man is the one who created the great conor. He is smart and he never fool conor to make him thing he is untouchable. If it wasn't for him i can guarantee that the conor khabib fight will have happened way before and conor will look even worse. The only reason he admitted its khabib time is because he knows there's nothing they could change to make conor become the victorious
Conor shouldn't fight Khabib again. He should take an easier fight that is winnable. Khabib is his kryptonite (maybe he's everybody's kryptonite) Conor simply cannot compete with his wrestling. At 155, I thought Lee had a shot but now he's going back to the prelims and Tony is getting super old and worn with all the damage he's taken.
@Super FURIOUS Gamer still defending that douche is unbelieveable

To be honest Al did a decent job but he lost every round and it only went the distance because Khabib was toying with his “Ali” jab. At least Conor took a round off Khabib
Conor obviously shouldn't get an instant rematch after that mauling. So, he should obviously do the trilogy with Nate.
Julian B I know this is a super late reply but I honestly think he’s kinda afraid to fight Nate again especially after coming off of 2 straight losses. I think Nate really surprised him both times they fought and he didn’t realize how tough it was gonna be to move up to his weight class.
@Ry G he beat him ? 😂
He should stay on the legends tour. Fight Cowboy, Fight RDA, tease and duck masvidal. Diaz should duck conor. The legend tour is all about drumming up business. Its really not about the fights. Conor's shelf life as a top tier fighter is over. He may not have ever really had it based on the matchmaking. He was entertaining, but please stay on the legends tour.
So Nate gets his face destroyed in fight 2 and you think he should get fight 3? After doing nothing since that fight? You’re an idiot if your own argument can be used against you
BaronVonBielski what’s your problem? Take it easy. Take a big breath and cool it with the triggered outbursts. Connor V Nate 2 was real close, while Nate crushed him the first time, they should definitely fight again (sometime). Also, let me add I wrote this comment before the BMF-fight and Connor V Cerrone. The relative value of their stocks have changed and maybe I would reconsider if Nate deserves the fight right now. Maybe Connor V Masvidal for the BMF-belt would be a better fit now, and maybe if Connor loses, then the trilogy with Nate could be next. That being said, Connor DEFINITELY shouldn’t be considered for a rematch with Khabib yet.

I don't think so. Imo their game plan was to not get tired and go into the later rounds. McGregors cardio was much improved. I don't think he thought he was going to get submitted. He underrated khabib in that aspect. I have no idea why. He really lacked tenacity in his striking my only assumption is that they trained for a lot of endurance and it cost him speed and power.

Agree 💯...herb Dean seems to be slow on the uptake...even the other fight where he let a guy get battered for a few mins straight...herb was considered the best ref but this fight showed he is very very lenient...can't blame khabib for being annoyed
it happens literally everyday.. it's nothing new at all fighters bend the rules all the time you clearly don't watch a lot of fighting. Muhammad Ali did it when he was about to suffer his first loss after being knocked down, no one really cares dude. Ferguson threw an illegal kick against barboza in a scramble. It's when you have repeated eye pokes and intentional groin strikes and punches after rounds. That's very different
ufc fights aren't everyday. @.@
@@theboizee6606 I'm old been watching fights for a very long time. I agree fighters will break rules while refs enforce the rules. My argument was for this fight Herb did a bad job

I gotta say, I picked Conor to win & I knew it was a huge possibility that he would get Conor down & maul him, but seeing it go down the way it did was still socking to me. He totally dominated Conor, & even dropped him on the feet. I was very impressed by Khabib's performance, nothing but respect for the man. He truly is the best Lightweight on the planet. Nothing but respect to both guys.
Tony and Khabib needs to happen. They are both at the top of their game and it would be a ruthless fight.
