  • What I like about this take on Ozymandias is that traditionally, the poem symbolizes the how the passage of time trumps even the "king of kings". With this version, and Wilbur specifically referring to L'manberg, I feel the meaning has shifted. The lone and level sands no longer stretch far away in spite of Ozymandias, the lone and level sands stretch far away because of Ozymandias, and ye mighty had better look on that work and despair.

  • I really love the detail of how, in Sad-ist’s animatics, even in moments where Wilbur is drawn to be antagonistic or menacing, his eyes are still shown with what seems to be some deep weary and sorrowful sense. It really gives the depiction of Wilbur both taking this antagonist role, but also being a man who’s lost everything, including his hope, and fell into the pits of despair.

  • I love the "King of Kings" part where Wilbur's revolutionary hat, Eret's crown, Schlatt's horns, and Dream's smile flashes on the screen. All of which were the symbols of rulers on the SMP who believed their reign would last forever, only to have their power taken from them. In the end, their dreams of domination over the SMP were never meant to be.

Not to assume anything, but looking at evil characters and putting poetry to it just seems like something an English major would nerd out about. I’m not an English major, but as someone who’s really into character and story analysis, this video was just so cool to me

    @icee_lemon5854@icee_lemon58542 жыл бұрын
    • As someone who is an English major, this is by far my favorite SAD-ist animation. Not the all the others aren’t great. But this one captures the all the characters perfectly in even smaller snapshots. Each line of the poem and the heart beat were excellently timed. By far, I will never NOT get chills when I see the scene when he said “My name is Ozymandias, King of kings”. Everything about that sort was perfect. I don’t know if techno will like it, but this definitely scratchs that English itch for me.

Then wilbur left as writer and ranboo and dream took over until the final disc confrontation, and season 2 ended with wilbur speaking to tommy beyond the grave. And then we've basically been in season 3 for like 1.5 years since then because all the lore ended or went at a snails pace.

Like long after Wilbur dies again, he spends his days traveling, and one day runs into a Lonely Techno blade, still yet to die, but a life that long tends to blur the memories. He doesn’t even realize it’s Tommy that he’s talking to, it’s been so long. And Tommy, trauma ridden and exhausting himself looking for a way out, will tell the tale to anyone that will listen, regardless of weather or not they’ve heard it, or lived it before.

  • This is part of my GCSE spec for my poetry part. I have watched this too many times. We hadn't done it yet, and when my teacher said it was what we were doing, I told her I knew it. And dramatically remembered it in front of my class. Best. Reaction. Ever. My teacher said "well... I suppose we don't need to watch the video I had planned now."

  • The SMP has its gods: DreamXD, god of Law and Guardian of the End Drista, the young goddess of Chaos And most importantly, SAD-ist, goddess of lore, fate and history, for it is she who shapes the doings of yore, revealing knowledge and perspective to all, through prophetic visions and cryptic words Praise be to She Who Knows, for yet another masterpiece

Near them, on the sand, Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown, And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command. Tell that its sculptor well those passions read Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things, The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed; And on the pedestal, these words appear: My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings; Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair! Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away.'
