  • Lara is too underrated. Especially after his "loss" to canelo when he was clearly robbed

    • Snip Snappa Naw. Neither guy took or had control. There was no clear winner. I think a DRAW would've been fair. Too bad there will be no re-match. Oscar's never putting Canelo in against someone with that style again. Expect more of Alfredo Angulo and Kirkland type styles for the rest of his career. Guys that come straight ahead with no defense.

    • OTKP Hell yeah but the casuals know not what they see. But imho Lara should have went for the kill in the 5th-6th round to get better fights because going the distance with Delvin Rodriguez does't really put fireworks in your resume, I hope he fights some worthy names in his next fights because its sad he went from fighting Paul Williams to Canelo back down to Delvin smh a fighter of his talent should be put to the test!

A real fan of boxing loves and respects the sport. Back to the matter at hand, Lara is not better defensively. He may as well never get hit on the head, but his body gets more of a bashing than Floyd does. If he and Floyd fought, Floyd could just potshot his stomach all night long with jabs. Also Mayweather is higher rated than Erislandy. "real boxing fans know this!"

  • Wow! i saw this fight for the 1st time today and this is only the second Lara fight ive seen the first was Canelo and i instantly became a fan, by the end of round 1 of this fight i was thinking damn man! this guy would be a great match for Floyd and ive seen almost every Floyd fight, in round two the announcer says the exact same thing i was thinking unbelievable. I never paid to see a Floyd fight because of the obvious great fighter but TBE you gotta be kiddin but if he comes out of retirement and he wants to not face guys out of there prime and psychologically damaged from opponents cheating and yes im talkin Delahoya, Sugar Shane, Pacquio all were out of there prime, Cotto at the time was psychologically damaged from Margarito and the illegal hand wraps Berto got both eyes swollen shut by Eddie Guerrero who was to stiff as a statue for Floyd, Ortiz who beat Berto got sucker punched if you TBE what you cryin about a headbutt for? 😒 Instead of faceing Canelo twice he faces Maidana 😄 another statue and he just danced all night with Canelo after he got hit flush by him a few good times he didnt want no parts of that kid LMAO 😆 #50 if it happens without question should be Erislandy Lara but Floyd don't want Nooooo parts of that either TBE my ass 😂 he got wealthy robbed the fans and scurried off into the sunset face Lara HOE or stay retired the sport without question is better without you and thats not hatin thats just bein real. ✌

But against lesser fighters with guts, he will always look scared, and lose decisions, even if he's out-landing them.

  • Triple G DUCKING LARA.... They know if Lara comes to 160, with his skills hes gonna murder Triple G!!!

    @OldSkoolBoxingg@OldSkoolBoxingg8 жыл бұрын
    • +OldSkoolBoxingg Tell me how Lara beats GGG and don't say shit like "Cuban School." GGG never ducked Lara. Lara's own manager admitted they never tried to make a fight with GGG. Lara was asking for 5-6 million dollars with a 50/50 purse split. Plus Lara's tailor made for GGG. He moves away from you and that's exactly what GGG wants....

      @irvinmorales1409@irvinmorales14098 жыл бұрын
    • Irvin Morales Lara is a very experienced guy, that is his weapon... Triple G never fought a guy with the same expereince and skill as Lara, look at Willie Monroe who fought Triple G, he was not a skilled south paw and he was hitting Triple G... Lara will be able to land his left hand at will, im not saying Triple G can't KO Lara, but it's a difficult fight and Lara coming to 160 only makes him stronger... on top of that, Lara is very defensive, he moves a lot and ties his man up... Making Triple G's offense not so deadly.

      @OldSkoolBoxingg@OldSkoolBoxingg8 жыл бұрын
    • OldSkoolBoxingg Why didn't Lara do that to Canelo, Angulo, or Molina? Even in the amateurs, GGG had more so called experience and had a better overall record. He won a silver medal and had a record of at least 360 wins to only 5 losses. Lara had only 74 wins with 14 losses. He's not as defensive as you think. Lara has showed no in-fighting skills whatsoever. Lara's biggest weakness IS his movement. He moves excessively to the point where even he's out of range to counter with his longer than average reach. Last night was another example. Vanes is not known for being able to cut off the ring and he was still able to whack at Lara's body. Lara won that fight but he didn't impress at all. Lara is just another Willie Monroe except he might last longer than Monroe did. Lara is tailor made for GGG. GGG wants you to move away from him. The only guy who can pose a threat to GGG is a guy who stands toe to toe with him.

      @irvinmorales1409@irvinmorales14098 жыл бұрын
    • Irvin Morales Those fights against Canelo,Angulo etc were all good experience fights for Lara...and Lara has had 320 Amateur fights ..... and you got it all wrong... Lara's movement is why hes so hard to deal with is because hes always forcing you out of position and hes forcing you to do things that you wouldn't normally do... That's why they try to attack his body because that's all there is, and Lara sees those body shots coming, the body punches you DONT see are the ones that will hurt you... Every boxer is conditioned to take good body shots, they can take it... but the punches you dont see that land are the ones that really hurt you... Triple G for the most part is a flat footed boxer, he's slower then lara and hes a bit mechanical... Lara's movement will force Triple G out of position, then what's Triple G gonna do? Hes not a Manny Pacquiao or an Amir Khan, he cant just bolt in and explode a combination, hes gonna get countered and hes gonna get hit a lot, then Lara wont be there for return fire... Triple G is gonna waste his time trying to land a body punch while Lara wins the rounds... Next thing you know, just like Vanes you're 5-6 rounds behind.

      @OldSkoolBoxingg@OldSkoolBoxingg8 жыл бұрын
    • +OldSkoolBoxknock Out of position? You do realize that GGG has better footwork compared to everyone Lara has ever faced. GGG is never off balance. He places his punches perfectly and is the most accurate puncher in the middleweight division. Even then, I wouldn't want Lara immediately facing GGG if he moves up. Even then, Lara has stated that his main objective is to unify at 154 much like GGG is unifying at 160. Plus Lara doesn't exactly have the best chin in the world. People bring up the Angulo fight and with good reason. Angulo is horrificly slow and throws telegraphic punches and most of them landed on Lara. With all due respect to Angulo, who was very good during his prime, he's not on the level of GGG. If Lara and GGG ever face off, I'd give it to GGG with all due respect to Lara. Plus GGG is trained to fight guys like Lara. His style is based of Chavez Sr and we all know that Chavez Sr was a master of cutting off the ring and countering the jab with his overhand right and or left hook. GGG is the closest thing to Chavez Sr in years. Don't get me wrong, Lara's very good but even you have to admit that he doesn't have much of a killer instinct. I'm pretty sure Lara could knock someone out if he sat on his punches but he just doesn't. GGG stops Lara in the later stages of the fight in my honest opinion. Lara's a annoying and tough fight for anyone but GGG ultimately stops him late.

He needs to get out of that one two style he's used to. He's a work in progress as an entertaining fighter. He is definitely trying. He has power, but not one punch knock oit power. He will have to mix it up to get his guys out of there.

  • I think someone could guess Lara and Rigondeaux were from the same school of boxing even if it wasn't known they are both cubans. They surely do some similar things like 'rehearsing' their punches, lowering stances and dropping hands to draw a jab (to counter it), punishing the body with great emphasis and they evade against straights the same way

  • Can someone tell me why Lara isn't running just like he did in the canelo fight? He's like really inside the pocket most of the time in this fight.

    @garfieldlopez2344@garfieldlopez23449 жыл бұрын
    • Garfield Lopez 1. Moving around the ring isn't running 2. Canelo's a much bigger threat than Delvin so of course he'd be more stationary in this fight.

    • Paul Williams was bigger and he was in the pocket. I think I know why now.. Because lara felt canelos power was no joke, so decided to hop on his bike.

      @garfieldlopez2344@garfieldlopez23448 жыл бұрын
    • I believe because he didn't feel cautious by Rodriguez power or style so he was way more comfortable inside and didnt need to run=dance around the ring. Wasn't necessary.

    • @Mike Hawk: Well they have a common opponent so we could judge them on that performance. Canelo won a decision against Lara ---- Canelo lost every round against Mayweather and was made to look like a novice. Lara has 24 fights 2 loses and 2 draws and Floyd is a 5 division champ who is undefeated in 49 fights yet some jealous people think he is better Floyd Mayweather jr.

      @holyspiritfor@holyspiritfor8 жыл бұрын
    • Brielle Smith i never said he was better than floyd, lara is technically an undefeated fighter, he beat canelo and williams so he should only have one draw with molina and the rest are all wins.the floyd version that fought maidana and pacquiao would lose to lara. In his prime then yeah floyd wins hands down but not the one that fought berto.

      @mikehawk8198@mikehawk81988 жыл бұрын
    • I agree with you on the versions but Floyd is always better than any version placed in the ring with him. I like Lara But I see Floyd's superior hand-speed and ring IQ making him better than Lara. Floyd will always beat Lara because he is too much like Floyd and the original is always better than copy. Lara is too careful to beat a patient and calculated fighter like Mayweather. He does everything better than Lara and its hard to see him coming out on top.

    • Brielle Smith i agree with u too in my opinion i think lara beats floyd at this point and time, Lara is a taller, about same speed, and longer reach so i see him giving floyd all kinds of problems but u right he most likely still beat lara even at almost 40 years old
