    • It's part of the Mystery of the Emblem Medley.

  • Such a great song. I wish this game came to the States. I wonder why it didn't? It was essentially the precursor to Awakening. It would have been successful in the States because it was the true game that started to make itself accessible to new comers of the series. It had casual mode, grinding in the preparation screen, create a character and it's difficulty was made easier. It's such a shame.

    • Shadow Dragon sold poorly, so they kept New Mystery away out of fear it'd be negatively received again.

    • From what I heard, Shadow Dragon did decently in sales. It sold six hundred and forty thousand copies worldwide. That was up 25% in sales compared to Radiant Dawn. It was the two Tellius saga games that did poorly. Shadow Dragon had improvement in sales, that's why I'm confused as to why New Mystery of the Emblem didn't get a release here. It is the better of the two Akaneia games and it would've done well here. My guess is that Shadow dragon despite good sales had a lot of bad press for being a basic game that didn't advance the series but actually set it back. That bad press could have hurt New Mystery of the Emblem sales.

    • Andrew Ruiz Yeah, it sold alright but it got dislike for not adding much besides the weapon triangle and the controversial "lose units to gain a new one"… Really, you have to send most of your men to their _deaths_ to even get access to these mysterious newcomers of Fire Emblem, but that's not counting the forgiveness where if you lost Tiki along with the Falchion and go to get a new one... but somewhat weaker and heavier.

    • Worst part is Shadow Dragon wasn't even all that bad. Sure, it lacked supports and had that stupid system for Gaiden chapters but after that, there really wasn't much they could do. I mean it started an awesome series of games, but lets not kid ourselves: Marth's original Fire Emblem is fucking horrible by modern standards and if they did too much, it wouldn't even really be the same game anymore. Plus the main reason it existed pretty much boils down to everyone outside Japan who only know Marth from Smash.

    • That reminds me, why do people like Shadows of Valentia but not Shadow Dragon and Mystery? Logically, if they didn't enjoy Shadow Dragon or New Mystery of the Emblem then maybe they shouldn't like Gaiden's remake either.

  • This is actually a really lousy remaster. It just doesn't flow as smoothly as the original SFC version.

    • I don't know about that one chief, not even a remaster either, difference between remaster and remake
