    • @@bondjames-bond7664 Tyson said, he was afraid before the fight in the locker room, but as soon as he entered the ring he wanted to destroy the opponent. :) To overcome fear you must face it, probably many times, until you won't fear the unexpected anymore...so I guess experience will make the fear away...You must be punched a lot of times, and be on the ground to become a warrior I guess. I don't fear in the ring anymore during sparring, but I shake like a lil girl on the street when whoever tries to attack me, cause I haven't got into fight before, sadly. So...fight a lot, face your fear until it is gone.

    • I actually did it! Well... Not exactly... My bully approached me and my friends, and so I stood up for the first time, since I told him to fuck off multiple times and he was very provocative. Anger is what did it for me. I charged him grabbed him and put him down. Well I didn't punch him, but since then he stopped annoying me and my friends. What he would usually do is, while we play football he always comes in and takes our ball kicking it out of the pitch. The fight ended when his friend came towards us and he pulled me out. They both kept telling me not to fight him after that, because their football trainer was watching them and he was going to punish him or something.. BULLSHIT! - I screamed. Took me 5 to 6 minutes to calm down and my friends were very impressed at that time. Which meant: I was the badass this time.

But what I learned was they were extremely smart and quick to react compared to the average hoodlums id fight. But the one thing I always found interesting was the unwritten rules of street fighting. I never abided by them and only knew do anything to win. It was only after being jumped by 6 kids in the neighborhood my mom told me "As long as you come back home to me, you've won".

  • I think there is one extremely important tip that Tony did not exactly mention (and that I learned the hard way from my own experience in the streets of Moscow). After you throw that first punch, you need to continue attacking your opponent until you see that they do not want to continue the fight or that they are not a threat to you anymore. If you are not a trained boxer, most probably your first punch will only surprise and somewhat disorient your opponent. When you see them disoriented, your natural reaction is to stop the fight right there (because you are not a violent person and already feel guilty for having hurt someone). However, if you stop, you will make a big mistake, because the fight will not stop. You will simply lose the advantage that you have just won yourself with that first punch. What will happen next is your opponent will recover and come back at you with even more anger and aggression. So, continue punching your disoriented opponent, until it has become clear to both of you that you have won. If they bend, don’t be afraid to kick them in the face. If you are not a trained fighter, your kick will not knock them out or hurt them badly. But it will give them a significant scare and they will lose all their original desire to mess with you. And, of course, never hurt your opponent more than it is objectively needed for your protection and in order to stop the fight. There is no excuse for excessive and unmotivated violence.

    • Luckily if you don't go walking around terrible places the only times you will be forced to fight is in/out of night clubs bars etc. So you're fighting drunk people often not knowing what they are doing and trying to achieve. They're wobbly and chaotic. Tony's tip of throwing the first punch is essential. If you're smart it's the right thing to do, my wrist are fucked so I usually use elbows when someone comes up too close. You know you're the better man so it's better for you to knock him. Hit his jaw, if needed follow up with a few more put him in recovery position check his breathing and walk away. If you lose, they might not be understanding. I've seen people head stomping passed out people, disgusting. Don't hesitate

  • I've been quite a few fist fights in my life, some I've won, and some I've lost. And the main thing I've learned is that no matter what you do, or what you study beforehand - nothing is going to prepare you 100% for a real fight. The main thing that translates into your technique, is first hand experience. I'm not at all saying that training doesn't help or play a key role, because it very much does! But being in the heat of the moment, those milliseconds that pass as the fight is starting and going - those are your best teacher. Once you get into a fight for the first time, and begin to learn how to control that adrenaline and nervousness, you become a better fighter than 90% of people out there. Because most people have never been in a fist fight before; there's almost like a wall you have to climb in order to throw that first punch for the first time. But when you've conquered that wall and push through it, you get better and better in the future. Controlling your emotions and nerves are damn the entirety of it all. And also, do not be afraid of getting hit! It does not hurt no where near as bad as you think, especially when you've got that adrenaline rushing through you. Yes you should avoid being hit in the first place - but once you do get that first punch to your face, win or lose, it's extremely freeing! I know how that must sound but believe me, something just clicks afterwards when you've overcome that fear- and in the future, that makes a 100% difference. Push yourself, and maintain discipline over your nerves.

  • That last point a huge respect "don't keep attacking and doing damage when they are down". If you lose yourself in rage and continue to punch a downed person, the chances of severely injuring them is high not to mention that there is also chance of them dying. I almost took a mans life because I got lost in rage and if my friend didn't pull me back in time, I'd be sitting in prison right now, it is very important to get a handle on your emotions specially rage/anger. I little trick I learned to get control is that whenever I feel angry, I take few seconds to get my breathing in control and focus more on clearing my thoughts (this doesnt mean during fights but any situation that can get an angry emotion out of you).

Having been bullied myself as a kid I told myself a long time ago to never show fear or allow anyone to intimidate me. Also standing your ground has seemed to work even more against bigger guys, who usually have a look of confusion or shock once you show no fear.

A few years ago, I was at a parade with my family & witnessed a man grab a girl by her hair & started punching her. Hundreds of people were around & nobody did anything to help her so I forced my way between them & pushed the man to the ground. Next thing I knew 5 of his friends were surrounding me & my family. I somehow avoided this situation by calling them out as cowards that hit women but wouldn’t fight another man 1 on 1. This turned out to be true because they reluctantly walked away, cursing me all the while.

He had a grin on his face and asked me if I ever used what I was learning in the streets. I told him no. I kept to myself and avoided people and places where conflict was more likely. He then told me if I ever landed punches on someone the way I landed them on a heavy bag, that I could do some serious damage. Avoid street fights at all costs. If you find yourself in one that you cannot avoid, finish it quickly and go about your way. Too many situations can turn ugly real fast if you hang around. No one is invincible or unstoppable.

  • Great video and advice! I am trained in Boxing, and to this day, I don't even know my own strength. Best to always avoid street fights. But when it can't be avoided, I agree with all your tips!

  • When fighting you can't give up. Whatever they do they can't break you're will. If they begin to show frustration and start second guessing themselves you took a part of their soul, you already won

    • What if they just strangle you you? Or stab you? Does your will mean that you can get your brain to work with no oxygen? This is a dangerous attitude. If you're drawn into a scrap on the street get out of there unless you really can't or they've shagged your lass or some shit idk.
