#p600s #meshifys2 #hardwarecanucks
Thanks for all the suggestions on why the CPU/GPU temperatures are different. For the stock config it made sense as Fractal fans were actually mounted slightly higher (factory mounting not my own) but when I mounted the Noctua fans I made sure they were equal on both cases. Hmmm... -D.
It looks like the PSU shroud on the Meshify is vented while the Phanteks is closed. Do you think this could have anything to do with the higher GPU temps in the Meshify?
PCI slot covers should be the reason for the difference in GPU temps. Try using the Phanteks covers on the meshify case and GPU temps should drop considerably
Should have tested the Meshify S2 with front panel on, but with the dust filter removed. I'm sure that's where the difference in airflow is coming from. Excellent comparison none the less. Thanks.
@@CruddyFunk I feel the CPUs having a similar temperature kind of debunks that idea. Hot air rising straight up from the PSU chamber into the GPU fans would explain why the GPU temp is so different but the CPU stays close.
What does TG stand for?
5:45 i love the way you did this benchmark and the way you colored the section you talking about i hope you keep it in all of your upcoming charts
Video I've been waiting for Hardware canucks 😍
I've been waiting for a case review for a while, HC always make the best case reviews
Never seen one of your videos before, I loved the brutal reviewing on the cases instead of just the good points. That's a like and a sub from me 😁
Picked up the P600s yesterday, was easy as heck to get going, had solid cable management out of the box, and doesn't look a 1990's rave inside. I really am happy with this case.
Was there a problem with collecting dust to quick?
Can you come back to us and tell us what you think about dust management?
Dust? How is t
So running with most of the panels off the cloth mesh in the front is a little pain in the ass to clean, but the inside actually doesn't collect a lot of dust wiping off the segment above the power supply and wiping off the fans usually does it. The bottom segment with the power supply and all of your cables tends to get a little gnarly but it's still not that bad and I can't be bothered to go in there and clean that at the moment.
@@seneschal4617 thanks dude!
Of all the KZhead channels Hardware Canucks has by far the best presentation. Even when they are demonstrating different features on the case they still do the satisfying B role style footage. And they’re entire studio/room setup is so simple and neat. Even if I’m not interested in the product show case I still watch for the amazing shots. Keep it up!
JustAnotherGamer totally agree. Keep it up guys
Case reviews are back! Good work.
AWWW YEAH! It's been such a long time. I miss case reviews.
Finally! Was waiting for your review since the Meshify S2 went out. Dam good video as always :D I like the Phanteks from a functional standpoint, but I prefer the design of the Meshify. Well the black one version is better, or a gunmetal if they dare to make one would look amazing.
Great, clean and tidy review as always Dimitri! Keep it up brother...!
I went with the anthracite P 600S. Thanks for the video comparison.
I actually managed to go 1.5 minutes without noticing your left ear. Feels good.
😂 no ear difference here. Move along
HardwareCanucks oh... ok then i guess i need some new glasses.
Is this 4K upload new? Haven't seen that before, nice. I always love your reviews and looks forward to the next. I wish I went with the Fractal design rather then my H700i (I love it but like that mesh looks quite a bit.)
Phanteks P600s FTW... complete beast. 💪💪🔥🔥
seriously where are all the P600S reviews?
agreed
On KZhead. Duh.
@@errorcode503 great reply, more than 1 year after i made this post lol

Yesterday I was debating which was better for my purpose this is exactly what I needed
Both high quality cases. I think the meshify's front panel looks very classy in the black model tho
It looks like a shitty speaker to me...
it looks like a kid had fun with a hammer but irs actual a smart one but still a kid lol
prefer Define front alot more. sadly its restirctive. Gonna buy p600 to upgrade from my hotbox enthoo i think.
Looks alot better then the p600 that is for sure
Its a dust magnet
Jay was right, you guys are aces of case reviewers 🔥🔥🔥
The sliding cable covers can be removed, revealing reservoir mounting holes. Page 20 in the manual.
I am still waiting for the mx518 legendary review from you and rocket jump ninja
I just swapped over to a P600... This is an amazing case!!! I absolutely love it!!!
Love the hardware Canucks case reviews!
Have the white P600s, nice case and the system, 8700k /GTX1080 based, runs way cooler than it did in my old Define R4. Not a big fan of Phanteks 3.5” drive mounting system, but it works.
Love your lighting setups
Your case rewievs are amazing ty for this
I love the look of Phanteks whole Eclipse series. Probably not going to upgrade from the P400S but boy is it tempting!
Awesome video. I’m downsizing from the 750d Obsidian anyway ... ish. I like both cases in your review. I’m leaning towards the Meshify S2. Great to see USB-C support on new cases now. I just wish Corsair’ would update the 750d to include a PSU shroud and have Tempered Glass.
The Meshify's GPU temps being slightly higher is probably influenced by the intake fans being situated farther away from the GPU than the P600S. In addition, the less restrictive PCIe covers and triple vertical PCIe slots on the P600S will yield better case airflow and minimize airflow restrictions over the Meshify's more restrictive PCIe covers and dual slot vertical covers.
Yoo that thumbnail man. I actually thought it was a white and gold pc theme, but had to look closer and realize it was just the lights 😂
The difference balance of gpu and cpu temp is caused by the different mounting of the two front fans. Move them to an equal level and you will see pretty much the same temps on both cases! (the fans in the meshify sit higher => better cpu cooling)
I came here to comment the same thing. To put a control factor in this section, one could move a fan to center on the GPU; however, I went with the Fractal case as it looked cleaner and would adapt to custom liquid loops in a friendlier manner. Also, doesn't look like a UFO.
This, so much! Would also love to see how they mounted the fans in the P600S.
The distance between the fans and the motherboard assembly also influences the airflow. Example: blow air through your mouth, the way you do when you want to cool some hot food or drink, and move your hand towards and away from your mouth.
@@GholaTleilaxu You do realize the hotter components (CPU & GPU) have their own fans right? So while the temps might be better with closer fans (maybe 1-2°), the difference is insignificant. The most important thing is to supply those fans with fresh air from the front intake, the distance to the front intake doesn't matter much.
Would watercooling lower this temp a lot?
3:24 wow,the p600s looks so good to me
Like the P600S airflow covers. Open in Summer, closed during the winter.
Jay was right man, youre the king when it comes to case reviews
God damn now i cannot unsee this white color difference of the plastic and the metal on my own case
Awesome video. I've been thinking about the CPU temperature differences. Could it be that the S2 has a more direct inward and outward flow of the the CPU? Also could it be that the mesh is actually holding onto some of that air and not letting it flow as freely as the metal mesh?
I like the p600s just for the drive mounting solution especially where the hdds are concerned
what about looks vs. Lian Li 011 Dynamic XL ?
I just did a build in the p600s and i live it. You should do a video where you add some rgb strips to the front of the p600s 😁
Holy crap the 600S is huge. I was considering getting one but now that I see how big it is compared to the S2...no flippin way
I just got the P600S for myself and I have to say I'm surely impressed by that case. The temperatures compared to my old BeQuiet SB 600 dropped significantly it's still as silent with the front panel removed due to slow running fans (front 3x 140mm stock fans, back 1x NF-S12). Build quality and building experience is amazing too, maybe I'll try out the vertical GPU mount and see what that does to the GPU temperatures, it's sitting at about 55°C under load right now so there is still room to work with.
what about this case vs. Lian Li 011 Dynamic XL ? which would you prefer (i know Gamers Nexus give the Lian Li 011 Dynamic XL thumbs up and loves the unit for air-flow and design and looks - with 3 side-mounted fans --- are they supposed to be 120mm fans or 140mm fans mounted to the side on the Lian Li ? Any help is appreciated with this !! thanks
@@harpoon_bakery162 I think the Dynamic XL is just too large for an air cooled setup like mine, plenty of room for a custom loop but I personally don't need that. I'm thinking about switching to the O11 Air Mini when it finally launches because all I need is support for an ATX MB and PSU, a 120mm tower cooler and no extra room for radiators.
Both of them are amazing cases. In the end, I chose the Meshify S2 in Tinted TG and decided to replace ALL of the fans with Noctua fans (6x NF-P12 120mm fans from my old builds for the top and front. 3x NF-A15 140mm fans for the Rear and Bottom. Will have to use a splitter for the bottom and heatsink fans.) I'll have a total of 11 fans in this case, including the fans from the NH-U14S. Sounds like a lot of fans, but there aren't enough headers on my Crosshair VIII Hero for all of them. Using splitters everywhere would be messy as hell.
what type of ear protection are you using?
@@harpoon_bakery162 I'm sorry? Ear protection?
@@KRGraphicsCG sorry, i should explain, i'm trying to find a good balance between good airflow and quietness. I hate the gaming PC brustling like an old cheap Dell server! So should i get a Be Quiet unit, an NZXT, or a Lian Li 011 Dynamic XL?
@@harpoon_bakery162 all three are great brands, but I'm partial to the Be Quiet models. I'm using all of these fans because it gets very hot here in California
what did you end up doing as far as the splitters/headers issue?
@Hardware Canucks Regarding the CPU Temp Question: I think a possible reason might be that the S2, as the more compact case forces, when utilizing the same fans, a higher airflow around the CPU. This results in an increased thermal capacity which might impact the performance of the CPU cooler.
I just bought the Meshify S2 for watercooling. Getting rid of my Cooler Master Mastercase Maker 5. Can't wait for 2 360mm rad support.
The holes in the power supply shroud of the meshify make a difference because they force the air to be sucked in from the bottom at a slower constant rate, whereas the phanteks solid metal panel forces the air to gather below the gpu, creating a high pressure zone. This high pressure zone forces air into the gpu, working like a supergharger.. It would be relatively easy to test, just cover the top holes of the meshify's power supply shroud.
the R5 with the front door removed = best case ever made
Keep up the awesome work and videos.
Thanks 🙏 -D.
I went with the Black version of Meshify. No complaints yet.
How is the airflow on the P600s vs the Evolv X?
Exact video I wanted to watch!
I'd like the Meshify in the gunmetal gray, which is available for the Define S2, i would instantly buy it
Awesome video idea. I prefer the look of the Fractal Design. Let's see how it goes. *edit* I still think I prefer the Fractal Design case. Great video by the way.
rly ? but everyone crying about a bit louder vega in compare to a gtx 1160ti XD
I agree, the Fractal is better looking imho, though I wouldn't call the Phanteks ugly... But in terms of features and performance the P600S runs away with it. I'm seriously considering pulling the trigger on it.
@Jamie C If the Meshify is $30 (presumably US) cheaper, then that's what I'd probably get. Here in Australia the P600 was only $10AU more which I thought was well worth it. I've been very happy with it.
The fractal's are so ugly, maybe it's because they are 3 years old now but ugh, what a terrible idea for a front grille design you can't even see the RGB fans. and what does ARGB mean?
Finally the P600S is amazing
I really like the Phanteks P600S and I think I completely agree regarding the color scheme. I'm just not too much of a fan of the really long Meshify S2 and will instead take advantage of the mesh fabric that the P600S has to offer. Great video!
The S2 mesh. looks sexy in white....still undecided which one to pick for the new build (Asus theme...PSU, AIO, MOBO, GPU)
Did you do a test with the top of the phanteks cover off to improve airflow.
I've never been less interested in a HardwareCanucks case review... What has the PC-O11 done to me?!!?
Hey Dmitry, which is better for nice cooling, small case or big case? Thinking smallcases have less air capacity so its easy to exhaust heat quick and big cases have more air capacity so heat inside will take time to go up and in that time it gives enough time to fans to exhaust it. So i m in the middle now :S
Higher CPU temps on the P600S is due to the lower fan placement. Raise it for better cooling like I did or add a 3rd 140mm fan in the front for amazing air exchange
I'd like to see a review on the sennheiser RS 195 wireless headphones because there isn't may up to date videos on that product. thanks :)
I prefer the Fractal Design case, though I agree that the grey does look nice on the Phanteks. How about a grey Meshify S2?
I just got done rebuilding my PC in the Meshify-C, and I had to do alot of cutting and custom work to make everything fit... So I was kinda pissed that this case just came out, because everything would have just fit right off the bat... However I do have a question for you. Do you think if I somehow got my hands on the font panel I/O on the S-2 that it would fit on the Meshify-C font panel? Could you maybe test this? I'm looking for front USB-C accuse... I'll mod my case if I have to, but I was just hoping you could check fit, since you have both.
Won't fit, dimentions are different.
@@Nes924 are you sure? On Jay's two cents video, he shows them compared to each other and they look to be the exact same width.
@@BrandonWatkinsBmW13294 may look same, but different mounting sizes.
@@Nes924 awe, damn. Well thanks for the replay!
I'm not sure if it will fit but you can buy front panel I/O with Type-C for R6. Look up "Connect D1" on Fractal website. Maybe you can contact them directly and ask if it will fit Meshify C.
I suspect that moving the front bottom fan further down will improve GPU temperatures in Meshify S2. Saw something similar in my Meshify C, not sure about the S2 though,.
I went Anthracite Grey P600S. And I love it.
Just bought one today. Decided between the black and grey and went with grey :)
@@andrewkoumis4070 Have a straight black p600s with no side window to reduce operating noises. Hopefully the case lasts me a few decades as it definitely is well engineered and came with a decent amount of extras I don't use. I'd advise to vertically mount your GPU as it reduced my CPU temp by 6, GPU temp by 5, and 2nd NVMe temp by 5 on my ASUS X570-e MOBO.
Are you able to put the meshify front panel on the s2 vision for better cooling? 🤔
I'd rather still go for the Coolermaster MasterCase H500 for high airflow at low rpm for silence!
For the 2nd system on the P600s, are we able to air cool it with low profile air cooler like Cryorig C7? Personally I have no interest in water-cooling my parts at all.
I definitely prefer the Fractal Design Case and I would probably go with the black one maybe if they make a grey or silver one that would be cool. But the phanteks case is too big and bulky. Still cool though.
At the risk of making the graphs too busy, I would have liked to see the Phanteks running the Noctua's at 1000 rpm in both open and closed positions.
I think you got a bit confused @6:22. You're saying that CPU temps are better on the Fractal, which is not true looking at the graph. I'm getting confused here, who do I believe now? Lol Great review as usual, can't expect anything less!
Yeah I also lost him at that point! Is what he saying right or the graphs right..?
When are u gonna review the the meshify 2 from fractal, been waiting for it for quiet a while now.
I wonder how GPU temp on S2 would look if you put 2 fan water cooling on top and use 2 front and 1 back fan to pump cool air into the case so both GPU and CPU get cool air.
Black s2 (Owner evolve x, btw)
Is either of these good for air cooling with a dark rock pro 4?? I'm not happy with my current case
So I have a question regarding fan numbers and placement. I have a P600s with 3 140mm noctuas as intake at the front and have remounted the 3 stock fans as exhaust (2 top and 1 rear) is this okay or a bit overkill? I intend to use the included cover to cover the unused fan slot on the top for better thermals and airflow.
i have a meshify C, and its excellent, hardly any dust gets in, and its easy to vacuum the front.. looks great imo as i like the smaller design
I have a meshify c too , the front foam filter works very well but still a lot of dust gets in , not sure what I am doing wrong.
The high GPU temps on the Meshify are consistent with GN's results. For me really a deal breaker. Same problem with the Meshify C. Phanteks P400 with mesh stands out when it comes to both temps being low AND having a nice/normal noise level. What bugs me about that is the potentially less thorough dust filtering....guess there's always something..
you forgot to mention the P600s, thoughts?
If you want to lower the inside temps particularly your GPU, put 3x 140mm in the front. If you're still not satisfied then put 2x 140mm in the bottom and another 3x 140mm in the top.
aren't the holes not designed specifically large enough for the 140's?
How many more years am I going to have to wait for case that is vaguely as good at cooling as my (ancient) FT02.
Like the saying goes "they don't make em like that anymore". Those huge bottom intake 180 fans so close to the components was a genius idea.
What about an RVO2 or RL06?
I own the Meshify S2 Black and I love the height compared to Phanteks case .
I really can't decide on a case! I'm going with a white color scheme. I want vertical gpu mounting and support for at least 2 120s on top and front
Meshify C FTW. I have it and I love it.
The review we deserve :P ... Jay didn't do a proper "review", kinda disappointed. Was more of a unboxing.

Please tell me if you install all the fans in Meshify 2 and Meshify 2 XL. Which of the cases will be lower temperature CPU and GPU
Happy Meshify C Mini owner here :)
I have the Meshify C and this is the first time I've ever heard about the "Meshify S2". Didn't know it existed. What is the difference between them? Is the Meshify S2 just a larger version of the Meshify C?

I love those case mesh-ups.
If you replace the fans with 2x 140 in the front at 1600 RPM will the noise levels decrease to 30+db? I am seriously torn between Define R6 and P600S. likely I'll go for R6 because of optical drive bay...
Phanteks always. Got to love Dutch design.
For those running a lot of HDDs the Fractal is the clear winner. The Phanteks drive tray layout doesn't allow for the HDDs to get much cooling. The Phanteks 3.5" tray fully encases the drive and has zero openings for airflow. Not to mention that the drives are mounted to the same metal as the mainboard, forcing the user to have wires on the display side of the TG. The Meshify 2 converts over to storage layout essentially moving the mounting tray to the other side, hiding the SATA cables and drives themselves from view. On the Fractal case the drive trays (which come with ant-shock grommets) mount to just the bottom of the hard drive and allow cooling to take place. My HDDs are averaging 32C in my Meshify 2.
I kinda am digging the phanteks more, also yay usb 3.1 port.
I actually prefer the p600s for it’s modularity and the overall design. Special in the grey color 😍 The long mishify S2 looks a bit weird although the front panel will look gorgeous with a full black build
