In 2023, deepfakes have surged by a whopping 500% in Singapore. The scariest part? ANYONE can be deepfaked. But, how well do Singaporeans know about this? Well, to prove his point, Steven conducts a social experiment, deepfaking unsuspecting interviewees. Just what did it take and how fast were these deepfakes made?
While being a victim of deepfake is a nightmare for most, some are seeing it as a marketing strategy. Join host Steven Chia as he delves deeper into the world of deepfakes. He finds out why some celebrities are willing to be ‘deepfaked’, selling their likeness to companies. This further blurs what can be trusted because seeing is no longer believing.

    • Its cool, because in few years you not be able to do this anymore without specifically made software to do that. Only few years ago AI was drawing human as O and few I's and now not every one can tell what real and what not.

    • Pretty sure you could even without a computer science degree, many courses are avaliable on KZhead, Coursea, etc. Just have to search keywords like "deep learning", "convolutional neural network". Machine learning is usually the simplest to begin with if you are a beginner. Have fun learning!

  • Well, it's true that deepfake can create lots of misleading information like scams. However, I do look forward for the positive potentials that deepfake could create in the future, could it create a kdrama series in 1/3 of the original time and cost, could it dramatically change how lessons are taught (from boring lectures to interesting real world application), and so much more.

    @Mr2Am3@Mr2Am3Ай бұрын
    • Enlighten me... I think deepfakes will be perfect for crimes related. If any, it is perfect for increasing confidence of disabled people especially when communicating virtually. But again... does spreading false information ever good as a community?

  • Were the intro clips all the actual fake videos or fake videos done by the production team for this particular episodes? Cos I could tell almost immediately that they were fakes. The movement of the lips and the speech weren't exactly aligned, the silhouette of the person had a sort of "shimmer" against the background, and the movements of the speaker seemed a bit "unnatural" or too repetitive.

  • My number 1 criteria : If it's a commercial/advertisement selling impractical get rich dreams or silly investment Masterclasses, then it's a scam. That's why I either skip, close my eyes for a break or stand up and move around to stretch my legs when any ads start to run on media. Live your live simply, pay by cash if possible, limit yourself to 1 credit card, avoid leaving excessive digital trails, clear your computer cache regularly, save your passwords by writing on physical media such as paper and don't save them online for quick access, refrain from clicking on any links especially Facebook, use an ad blocker.

  • CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have succeeded. Making a fool of yourself. If we began to misbelief what we see then what should we believe. How are we going to treat all these contents appearing on these platforms, should we even bother to look at it in the first place. What about those contents that are true? What is your reaction, doubt it? So at the end we are all fools.

  • In the thumbnail, fake's skin looks too smooth to be real. It's like they put an inch of make up on you and used the best lighting tricks available. Even then there are other oddities on top but that's just me. Also seen deepfake of Natalie Portman, but to me, it looked more like some body double pretending to be her. 🤷

  • Imagine watching a current marvel movie..then watching it side by side with an older maybe like 60-70s made scifi movie. The comparisons with the visual effects with that era and the current would be enough to make anyone's jaw drop or perhaps make some cringe at how bad it was in the past. So likewise with the tech of deep fake now... Just give them another 5-10 years, it might really replace anyone to life like accuracy... Even scarier yet.. Don't even need anyone at all, since everything can be generated

    @tobychye6582@tobychye6582Ай бұрын
    • It is scary that I rrally can imagine this. A movie generated 100% without real life actors/actrees/VA and nO video or sound recording device at all. I have a feeling that a 30-minutes movie will come in less than 5 years, perfected in 10 years. And for once, maybe a fake moon landing is not a joke.
