    • @@kweller3117 Yes..where you been at? lol. You got Predator 2 that came out in 1990, you got Alien vs predator that came out in 2004, than you have Alien vs Predator Requiem that came out in 07, than you had Predators that came out in 2010 and than you had the last one (The Predator) that came out in 2018. Its a shame they couldnt get Alien vs predator right since that was a big promotion in Dark Horse comics for years. The only one I like out of the rest besides the original is Predators. Now Shane Black, who starred in the 1st Predator, he directed "The Predator" that came out in 2018. Now if im not mistaken..his idea for what he wanted to do with that movie as far as the script is not what was produced. And he was ticked off by that. He wanted the movie to be an "event" and bring it back to that suspense/horror/sci-fi that made the original great. So basically..we didnt get the predator movie that he wanted to make

  • For those who don't know about his tragedy of a death: "While working on the TV series Harry and the Hendersons, Hall announced that he had contracted HIV from a blood transfusion during surgery for injuries he sustained in a car accident. He died from AIDS-related pneumonia on April 10, 1991, a month short of his 36th birthday." How awfully tragic.

    • There's nothing routine about surgery performed to save car accident victims, least of all in '85 when Harry & the Hendersons was being filmed. Contracting HIV from blood transfusion was relatively common in the 80s and early 90s, because we didn't have a good way to detect HIV in donor blood. He managed to live 6 years after contracting HIV which for the time was quite a long time. Thankfully today HIV isn't a death sentence.

He also worked on Beetlejuice in our senior year (both were 'after-school jobs' lol). Through him, I got to meet several of the FX artists who worked on this film, as well as several more who he worked with on later films. Unfortunately, I had/have the artistic ability of a garden gnome, so I could only live vicariously through him, and not work with him, but I am happy for my friend's success in the industry, and a few of the people he worked for and with, a few who went on to win Oscars in effects.

I don't think anybody could have whooped on Schwarzenegger or Glover back in the '80s with such ridiculous bad-ass ease. Quite possibly the coolest-looking alien I'd ever seen, for sure. And don't forget how much of that Gentle Giant kindness he brought to the role of Harry in Harry and the Hendersons. One of the reasons I continue to oppose the over-digitalization of movie monsters nowadays is that character actors like KPH MADE those movies what they were. They have the talent to give aliens and other monsters way more depth than they might otherwise get to express.
