    • when I was five I went to a Dodgers game, and this old drunk unwittingly put on a performance for all within earshot by commenting in disgust to himself over LA's less than stellar play. A few years later, when I was nine and on my weekend bike ride around town, I came across a little league baseball game, with full bleachers. I got off my bike, walked behind home plate / in front of all the parents, and basically did the entire drunk guy's routine as it was indelibly impressed upon my memory. Occasionally, I would turn and take an inconspicuous peak at the parents, who were seemingly all focused on me with very concerned looks on their faces. I carried on for a good 5 mins, then got back on my bike and continued my ride. Not saying that nine year old me was the original troll, but...actually, that it was I'm saying. It was me, THEN Andy, THEN Crispin. "What a ball game what a ball game what a ball game!"

There would have been plenty of people familiar with his upcoming film and it would have been a thing. Also his company to publish his books and movies is Volcanic Eruptions, so that volcano case is probably an Easter egg reference to his company. Social media would totally pick up on that too these days.

He strays away from social norms and doesn't conform to Hollywood stereotypes driven by corporate appeal. Watch closely and you can tell he thinks Letterman is a joke... so that's how he is treating the show. Mr. Glover is an absolute intellect, icon and probably one of the kindest most genuine humans you could meet. Think about it, did anyone leave that auditorium without feeling entertained or intrigued?

  • Glover works in the "arts" at a genius level. He loves messing with people who take themselves too seriously, like Letterman, and this whole charade is pre-planned. That's how well he messes with folks. To prove a point, they had absolutely no trouble filming him for the Back to the Future movie series, and is one of the iconic actors from that time. Could you imagine him acting like this for his audition? No director would likely touch someone with the "character" he plays on Letterman here. Enjoy it from this point of view and you can see that Letterman is really being played.

  • Looking at 3 appearances by Glover it looks like two possibilities to me: 1 - Glover was in on the schtick and all these appearances were for ratings for Letterman. 2 - That Letterman saw after the first appearance, ratings and news of Glovers 'crazy antics' was super huge, So yes, have the guy back on and it would help to boost ratings for David's second rate, second place in the late night ratings show... It's showbiz baby!

  • Fascinating to watch this "battle" of the cynics. I say this as a huge Letterman fan and moderate Glover fan. Dave's cynicism was well known, but I think Glover was really pushing Dave's buttons (successfully) -- also a rather cynical act.
