HOFers: Sid, Malkin, Letang, Karlsson. Gritty skilled guys: Bunting, Rust. Young Guns: O'Connor, Puustinen. Playoff stalwarts: Eller, Smith. Solid 4th liners: Carter, Puljajarvi. • Everybody hates that guy for no reason. His defensive deficiencies are overblown and far outweighed by his point production. He regularly will very quietly have strings of several 2 and 3 point games because he has a knack for subtle puck moving plays that lead to goals, but he’s so under appreciated among pens fans for it. When he’s paired with anyone but Ryan graves his defensive metrics are fine.

As someone who has lived and died with this fanchise ever since my dad took me as a 5yr old to my first game in their inaugural season, i just hope all the Pens fans that only know from 1991on realize just how lucky we as a fan base have been for close to 40 years now. We had some really good players on those early teams, but the first half of the 80's was something ill never forget. Ill never forget going to games at the igloo and you could sit anywhere you wanted, because if there was 5k fans there that was a big crowd. I would literally whisper to my girlfriend so somebody 10 rows and 2 sections away wouldn't hear what i was saying, because of the echo and lack of noise in there. This team has pulled itself up from the pit of despair and shown this city that what lies within is a heart made of Pittsburgh steel. LETS GO PENS.... Do it for Sid, get him the Masterson, the Hart, the Lady Byng, the Ted Lindsey, and the Selke trophies that he so richly deserves. And then we go after the postseason hardware.

So, anyone who "meh"s at his performance this season, is a meat head. End of story. When the games matter the absolute most, when the pressure is at its highest, that's when Crosby has always shined the most. He is still the best player of the last 25 years. What this guy did during the garbage trap era, the world championships, the olympics, and continues to do now in his twilight years, continues to impress. Dragging the Pens to their next playoff in what can only be described as "kicking and screaming" manner. Dude's earned the respect he was denied when he first got here, and while I'm not a hug Pens fan, I gotta give credit where credit is due. Jordan needed a Pippen. McJesus needs a Draisaitl. • Not a chance it's coincidental...Geno looks so much quicker since they arrived in town. Pens are such a dangerous team with their 4 HOFers buzzing & they are (Sid, Geno, Tanger, EK)...add playoff heroes like Eller & Smith...and man we are a contender

    • Helps when the Flyers are on a 6 game losing streak, and the Capitals are on a 5 game losing streak. Pens should have been eliminated by now. Seems like nobody wants the final playoff spot

    • They haven't won a playoff series in six years. They are the oldest team in all of North American professional sports. They are playing at their highest level against teams that have already secured their playoff berths. Tampa will turn it up a notch in the playoffs. Pens will get smoked in the first round by the Rangers, Bruins or Hurricanes.

      @citrusretna2088@citrusretna2088Ай бұрын
    • @citrusretna2088 true. I didn't say the penguins were gonna win it all, that they should be favored against any team, in the playoffs, or that they'd even win a series. I think sid can only do so much at this point and the team needs to pick it up like they have on this 11 game stretch. but rn the pens are a way scarier team than the wings, the caps, the flyers and the isles for a 1 seed. we saw it last year with the bruins, the worst team (florida) became hot at the right time and just out worked them. now if you don't think the same is reasonable with a team playing like the pens, than I'd say we have very different opinions on how the game of hockey plays out

  • It's impressive how the Penguins are now in a playoffs spot, but let's be real, the playoffs race in the East is completely broken. The Blues have 84 points and seem way out of playoffs contention in the West. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh and the Islanders sit in the playoffs at 83 points. Teams up front have been completely imploding in the last month or so. Even Buffalo now look like they have an outside chance and they're playing Detroit tomorrow. It seems like no one wants those last two spots in the East

  • Its a shame Crosby had that "depression" stretch where he was pointless for a while right after the Guentzel trade, or else he'd probably be looking at 50 and 100 again.

    @Musso88@Musso88Ай бұрын
    • Exactly...he took a few weeks off...w/o the Todd R lead PP holding Geno and Sid back all year (an abomination) and more like 120 points would've been in reach for Sid
