I actually tested this in great detail and it actually does make a difference in some games. The legion go can draw more than 65 watts especially in cyberpunk. However it’s not much (70-75 watts). but with the 65 watt adapter in cyberpunk, sons of the forest and other cpu & gpu heavy games, the battery discharges slowly. This is fixed with a 100w adapter. I still think it’s not worth to buy one just for that. I bought mine because I can charge the legion go at 65w and still charge my phone or other devices with 35 watts.
Thanks for your find and letting us know!
I was editing this Video and the Thumbnail on the LEGION GO via ADOBE PREMIERE PRO! I will use it as my PC for a week and then tell you about it! P.S. the 100W Charger is by Ugreen... not Lenovo. Obviously 😅🙈
Good !!!
Bro someone stealing your videos channel name is “Tekno İnce” Check the rtx4050 test video
Hey question I wanted to know if your having this problem ok so I have a 30000mah 65w battery bank and when I'm at 8% on the legion and the battery bank is at 100% I'm charging the legion go and it would show on the bank that it's charging but the legion won't pass 13% like it won't keep charging pass that even though the bank and the legion go both show that it's charging.....then the battery bank well hit 0% dead then I would like say forget it and turn off the legion go and turn it back on like prob 10min later and it would say 38% ???? Weird....what do you think?
Nice video! Hope you see and answer this question tho: does it have battery bypass mode? Thanks!
This is what we like to see. Freaking mythbusters over here. Heck yeah dude
I suspect it doesn't matter because it's taking the power it needs from the battery. I say this because using my 65w charger while playing Hogwarts Legacy at the same settings actually drains my batter while in use, and I'm going to be borrowing another power brick from my dad who got a Lenovo laptop, that's 140w. Though my dock is only 100w passthrough. But I'm guessing/hoping that will keep my battery topped off while gaming. And that's where I wonder if you'd see boosted performance, which you didn't get to check, as things need time to balance out/level off. If I use the higher wattage PSU it might not increase my FPS while recharging the battery that was drained. But once it's fully charged THEN you might see a difference as it could take what's being supplied directly without putting it into the battery.
Do you also need a 65W wire? I'm just new
can we use a 100 watt charger on the legion go?
I'd love for you to test this for a gaming laptop. I have a 65w and 100w type c chargers and will be getting a gaming laptop with type c charging support.
Depending on the laptop this will make a huge difference.
@@HubwoodI'm thinking of Legion Slim 5 with a 4060. Obviosuly I won't get full performance even with 100w power brick, but I wonder how much I'd be actually getting and how many games will be playable with it. Who knows? Maybe some will even be playable on a 65 power brick.
@@TabalugaDragonkeep in mind: if the slim uses more power than you deliver it with usb, the battery will drain. Even worse it could degrade your battery fast: when gaming the power needed jumps up and down depending if you are in a menu, indoors or in a battle in the open world. What happens is, your laptop gets charged and then again drained over and over and over again in quick cycles. This is not good for the battery so either don’t do it often or play games that use less power than the usb c charger delivers. In case of the 4060 variant of the legion slim, it will almost always use more power. if you really want to do that: 1. make sure you get a charger with the maximum charging rate of the slim 5. (idk 100 or 140 watts, check it first) 2. lock the display to 60hz 3. close everything else running on the laptop 3. only use the minimum display brightness necessary that you can still enjoy. 4. deactivate everything else that might use power. And optionally, consider deactivating the 4060 and game on the igpu. This will reduce your powerconsumtion greatly but also limit performance. with igpu you need to go down to 720p or 900p to get acceptable fps. Option 3: order a spare battery and just give a f*** about the current one. if it degraded to much, just put in a new one (they can be had for 80-180$ for most laptops) hope it helps
it cant keep its battery at 100% when using the 65 watt. I am playing deep rock Galactic at max settings and 30w custom mode. it still draind its battery. maybe @ 0.89% battery per hour... haven't seen if it does that with a 120 w brick yet
for me this is fixed with the 100 watt charger.
Hey can i lock the battery at like 80 percent to not go higher and let it plugged like gaming laptops?
Yes
I wonder something, can I connect USB-C cable from bottom does it work stand well ?
Only if u have the stand all the way open but even then it’s not flat, it’s leaning on the cable making it tilted
The processor is capable of much more.
The cap is on the device itself not the wattage on the charger.
There are Reports in which the Legion slowly discharges in some Games, which can be fixed with a stronger charger.
@@Hubwood Really hate that, it also happens on my Switch when on huge OC... And Its always good to test such things cause there are many devices that indeed have limited power because of the charger specially sound amplifiers and some laptops... My 2012 laptop for example is only like 11.5 inches and I chosen the powerful I7 high power and I had to upgrade the power supply to a huge brick cause the stock one would never allow this much power or maybe could work but likely would run pretty hot until it goes puff.
Is there a way to bypass 30watt limit ?
Not yet
I ordered Lenovo Legion Go but i sent it back. Chooling fan was very loud. Performance not acceptable for me for that high price. Too bad 😢
What were you expecting from a handheld pc?
I mean, I get what you're saying, but you have to understand that this is a handheld PC. You're also getting three months of Gamepass, a super high-quality case, and some ultra cool tech packed into the controllers.
Probably 4k 60, not 1080p medium low, gtx 1650 performance
Expecting to play Cyberpunk at 4k 144fps with path tracing
… you know the rog and deck had issues their 1st months lol every handheld has their issues at first…. Updates stay coming for the Go 🔥
Lmao. The dog image
Today, when I was game the Metro Exodus at 30W, the Legion Go draining of battery with the original charger. If I used a 100W one, would it avoid running down while it's charging, as happened with the 65W one? thanks for any response.
As to reports from other users: yes it would.
@@HubwoodAnother thing, how did you show the wattage on the screen, I'm looking in the MSI Afterburner settings but I can't find what it is (because Lenovo Space didn't add this option) thanks for the reply in advance.

Someone please explain to me why I can't use my phone charger on this device
Because your phone charger will only provide 15-20w. You might be able to charge the legion go when it's turned off though.
MY QEUSTION IS how fast do it charge with a 100w charger
The first 50% charges fast it slows way down after, so it may speed up the first half... but after that it will go about the same speed as a 65W charger.
No different performance but will 100w damage the battery?
No.
Thank god don’t need to upgrade that’d be very anti consumer from Lenovo
neck we can use a 100 watt charger on the legion go??
Yes?
@@Hubwood At pk I thought it was necessary to respect 65 watts like the original charger
@@Mck559 Nope, more is Always possible in that Case ;)
in which case ? @@Hubwood

bro, can you run it on 30w on battery?
Yes.
How can you get Hogwarts Legacy to work with just 10GB RAM? mine seems to always use 16GB. Thanks
It IS using the whole ram. +4 GB as vram and +10-12gb as system ram and for the game.
@@Hubwood oh i see. That kinda confuse me for a moment. Thank you
Hi how are you using FPS on your screen? What did you download? Mine doesn’t work and would like to use a 3rd party one
Msi afterburner with the included RTSS. I have a tutorial on how to install that. Search for "hubwood osd 90 seconds"
There is also a FPS counter in Lenovo app.
Woooo , its true for every games ?
Should be, yes!
