    • You don't understand. He just calculated the square root of 32.36, in his head (if it wasn't a trick). There isn't a general solution for that as far as I know, other than trial and error.

    • Watch at 0.25x speed, he's doing a false shuffle. After riffling, he quickly puts all the cards in his right hand on top of the pile. So they never actually change places. I'm guessing he's memorized a single sequence of cards, which would be worth it if you are going to perform the trick many times. I think he also memorized the menu. For the square root, I'm guessing there are only a few different amounts possible when adding prices of any 3 items, since many items often have the same price. So he could've memorized the square roots. Anyway, that's my guess, but it's still impressive.

    • @@polycrystallinecandy - So you _think he also memorized the menu_ huh? GENIUS.

      @johncoops6897@johncoops68972 жыл бұрын
    • @@polycrystallinecandy The squares problem is just a matter of knowing the square root of about forty integers. The total price of the top expensive items is your upper bound. Say that's $40 or whatever whacky currency the British are using post Brexit. You only have to know the square root for the integer range of say [2..40]. So forty values roughly to remember. And if he modified the menu so prices are only in whole integers, so much the better. Everything always adds up to an integer value. I think the square root he "guessed" was about $32.
