On October 12, 2016, a massive distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack left much of the internet inaccessible on the U.S. east coast. The attack, which authorities initially feared was the work of a hostile nation-state, was in fact the work of the Mirai botnet.
This attack, which could potentialy have taken down the internet in a way never before seen..was started because of...Minecraft. - grew more powerful than its creators ever dreamed possible.Anna Sempai made millions of dollars as a Minecraft hacker. It's a story of unintended consequences and unexpected security threats, and it says a lot about our modern age\

The idea of obsessing over someone to the point of murdering your love rivals for your crush is very rooted into the obsessive behaviors of those with untreated BPD, of course to a more exaggerated extent. To be honest Japan has had a long history of romanticizing or even sexualizing mental illness and trauma. Though if you look into porn it's clearly universal... • Hah we ran a literally not-for-profit server, and people tried to DDoS the shit out of us. We wound up just paying about 40% more than we already were to get better DDoS protection, and most of those nerds couldnt touch us. All we did was sell 1 extra home slot for $1 per month, and gave people the title [Vanguard]. Because our server was non profit, we didn't sell any pay to win stuff. You basically just payed for a fancy colored fantasy title, and little references in the spawn town. We put as much effort into carefully balancing our subscription perks, as any over-monetized server would. the only difference is we payed for a really good server, while selling the absolute bare minimum amount of cosmetic perks, just enough to keep the lights on for the 5 years the server ran for.

  • About Anna-senpai: she is a character from an ecci anime named Shimoneta where basically people have to wear bracelets that let the FBI know if you're having any sort of dirty thought is highly illegal. Basically the protagonist gets roped into a terr0rist's crew to go to densely populated spaces and spread adult magazines. Anna-senpai is an upstanding student at the same high school as the other two characters I mentioned. Basically she falls madly in love with the protag and does some pretty messed up stuff. Yeah, that's it

  • This stuff is, honestly, pretty inspiring. I'm now getting back into coding/ starting to pursue coding seriously and seeing what people around my age like slipstream and Paras managed to do is amazing. I don't know the first thing about coding a botnet or sql injection and I know it's not as easy as saying "if (security_has_fault = true) {hack;}" but seeing how they succeeded is awe inspiring. It doesn't inspire me to become a hacker. It inspires me to become better at coding because for better or worse, what they did/ are doing is just so cool.
