In my latest woodworking project, watch along as I show you how to build a chicken coop. As I finish up the chicken coop’s frame and roof, it’s then time to add the hen house, feeder, watering system and the finishing touches.
Overall I think that this chicken coop definitely does the trick, the chickens are safe and well cared for, and the coop should last for many years.

This is a brilliant project bud, My wife and I are going to try to build one ourselves so we can grow some chicken out on the land. That was fun to watch. That is the Taj Mahal of chicken coops, if I've ever seen one. I did notice that after you started wearing your new boots, you seemed to have picked up speed.

Thanks for the ideas! The recesses for the doors and using a small lip for the ramp instead of hinges ... and so many other little things!

A link to plans that can be purchased should be added ! A lot of people would buy them! My coop and run was made out of scrap lumber so its nothing pretty to look at but it serves the purpose. I'd love to have one of these!
I am in awe in of this man's thought process. I find his ingenuity astounding. That coop will still be here long after he has departed.
It’s an amazing build. Unfortunately it’s over built and will likely need relocated for one reason or another in the next few years. The ground will become extremely toxic from their poop in a few years. Chickens aren’t meant to be cooped in one location. Hope that thing is moveable but it doesn’t look like it. Unfortunately not so genius, overbuilding is a bit stupid too.
@@kcb5336 dont be a downer. He could have them free range. Coop cleaning is easy. Takes 20 mins once a year.
@@kcb5336 Maan, just celan the ground and lay some new soil if you want. Chicken poop isn't a radioactive waste, no problem if you clear regularly.

Great result and an excellent video. I'm handy but not a builder by trade. That said, with the proper tools and more time than it took you I'm pretty confident that I could reproduce your results in no small part thanks to your outstanding video. I used to wonder how builders could charge over a thousand dollars (US) for such a coop, but now I see it totally justified. Thanks for an informative and educational video, I'll be back for more. Lovely build! Thank you for such great details and thoughtful steps to your end project. That said -- if you are not planning to brood hens for chicks, roosters are not necessary for egg production -- you probably already know this; I'm simply putting it for the rest of folks reading the comments section. Additionally, in order to prevent the hens from suffering the effects of over-mating, keep one rooster for every ten hens at minimum. Again, thank you for posting a great video!

i use my kreg jig for so many things it really should be in everyone’s tool box. makes amazing strong connection. this build is amazing and i’m going to give it a shot this week and i have a feeling mine won’t be anywhere near as lovely but i’ll give it a go!

Hello . This is practical, technical, you are an artist and creator. A greeting. You, your family.
Beautiful work, one suggestion would be to wrap the roost bars with jute twine to help protect against bumblefoot and give them a more realistic branch feel. I use them in my coop with no problems, other than that a very nice coop.
When my house was built, they didn't put so much love on it. If I have another chance to live, I would try to lay an egg. I like Mucho.

Excellent project my friend, perfect. Only one thing I would change it's the removable drain cork for the flush. Just add a 90° and lead it outside the coop.
