A View To A Kill. Honestly a lot of these Bond movies are starting to run together for me. Pretty sure there's a pretty girl in this one, and a fancy spy gadget. Oh, and sins. Lots of sins.

Wo
damn finally run out of movies? gotta cover one no one in the past 50 years heard of huh
I dare you to do Everything Wrong with Spirited Away….. and FoodFight. A movie where there’s little TO NO SIN vs a movie with GOD KNOWS HOW MANY
With football kicking off you should do the movie the replacements
@@uhvoiidTV I’ll let you know that this is my favorite James Bond film. I mean jeez, this films from 1985. How young do you have to be to have never heard of this?
“Does anyone else want to drop out?” The chilling nonchalance of Christopher Walken’s Zorin never gets enough credit, and definitely warrants a couple of sins off.
I agree. At least one sin off for that.
Fun Hollywood fact: David Bowie was offered the Zorin part but declined it 🎭. Walken picked up the action role.
@@DavidLLambertmobile Even more fun fact: David Bowie actually rejected the role because he was terrified by Roger Moore when we have recovering from his drug addiction in Switzerland (after Station To Station), because Roger kept visiting David every day and told the same stories to the point he had to hide behind his kitchen counter and pretend he wasn't in by the next time he tried to visit
I saw this movie when it came out and not until later did I realize that was Christopher Walken!
Wait outside. Mayday will provide you with a drink. 😄
This isn't one of my favorite James Bond movies but I do like Christopher Walken and Grace Jones's performance in this movie.
They’re one of the reasons people like it.
Grace jones was originally going to be in the new one no time to die BUT, after she found out it was just a cameo she quit.
@@Aloyus_Knight really? What a bitch, as if she's some huge name with a lot of work 😂😂 She should have been honored they were even considering putting her in it. she is trash surrounded by shit, so she looks shiny...she's not. She was a terrible musical artist that sucked her way into a movie role
"The biggest problem I have with Zorin is a complete lack of bad guy nuance." Dude, it's Christopher Walken.
David Bowie was the first choice to play Zorin, but he turned it down.
@@lysanderofsparta3708 I did not know. Wow imagine how good that would have been in another world?
@@lauragyte6355 Yeah, would have been interesting to see. Bowie never played a villain.
To be fair, he played a much subtler antagonist in Batman Returns.
@@lysanderofsparta3708 uh, he played Jareth The Goblin King. That was a villian.
Between last week’s “Diamonds are Forever” and this, I’m starting to really like these James Bond sins videos 😂
Lol
This is an interesting one for me. For a long time it was my favourite bond film as it was the first I saw. Roger Moore is still my favourite bond
Can't wait for when they get to Die Another Day.
Last week, I was like what the hell, Diamonds Are Forever...that's a random choice but I get it now, he's gonna do each of the Bonds final movies, maybe we might get Licence To Kill next week and Die another Day the week after, just in time for No Time To Die.
He's covered every Harry Potter and Twilight movie so about time he got around to Bond
LOL, at that blimp scene, I was expecting him to say that Stacey went to the Prometheus School of running away from slow-moving objects.
I think Stacy didn't know about the blimp. I think the Prometheus School of Running Away From Things teaches you to runaway from something specific.
"That's an odd day of saying 'f*ck you, I'll dress how I want'" Best.sin.ever.
You missed how the little robot managed to climb the stairs with late 70s early 80s RC car tech when mine couldnt hit a pebble without flipping on its back.
To see Max Zorin laugh like he did before he falls to his death…idk why but that death stuck with me as one of the more memorable parts of the film.
Same here. Best part of the movie.
It's like he's thinking "huh...joke's on me in the end...."
He laughs just the same as Richard Madeley.
But Walken totally sells this unappropriate behaviour as something Zorin would actually do
"Whoever she is, she's dressed like she's just been exiled from the Q Continuum." 😂🤣 That is a joke for all of the true Trekkies out there and I love it! 🥰🖖🏾🛸
MOST DEFINITELY YES
🖖
Yep
I'm glad I wasn't the only one to think this! As a lifelong Trekkie, I definitely saw that look in TNG before this movie. I also remember those hats being in David Bowie's "Ashes To Ashes" video too.
My favorite joke of the review too! Hilarious.
you forgot to take off a sin for "More...more POWER!" - Zorin. Classic Walken line I use all the time.
I like to use this line too
He should have substituted "More...more COWBELL!"
@@jimday7812 I GOTTA FEVUH
I actually like "A View To a Kill" - probably based on my adolescent age upon first watching the film. This is the era when Bond films understand they are a bit silly, and begin to lean into all the clichés in a delightfully self-referential way. Since I obviously won't change your mind about this movie, I'll just say thanks for acknowledging how good Duran Duran's theme song is: the only Bond title tune to make it to #1 on the US charts. Cool story about how this song came into being as well.
Agreed. It's okay to be campy, as long as you embrace the camp. One of the problems I had with the Craig-era Bond films -- which also applies to the modern-era Godzilla films -- is they try too hard to be "serious" films and end up overcorrecting, resulting in movies that are less fun.
@@ScooterBond1970 I dislike the modern Bond films for the exact same reason. The take themselves way too seriously. The Bond franchise has always been the perfect combination of action, adventure, fantasy, sex, and a little bit of camp mixed in (alot in Sir Roger's episodes). The new ones feel more like a Tom Cruise action movie than they do a Bond movie. Craig is much too stoic. Many compare him to Dalton, but Dalton had his campy one liners and witticisms, maybe just not as much Moore, and not quite as smooth as Connery. But the first three major Bond actors (I don't include Lazenbie because he was a one-off) all brought their own unique style to the character that could each be enjoyed for different reasons. Brosnan was take it or leave it for me, and Craig just never fit the role properly.
This was my first as well, so it definitely one of my favorites as well.
@@digitalfootballer9032 totally agree. Craig the most overrated Bond. Brosnan the most underrated. I'm in the minority, in that I think Roger Moore played a fantastic James Bond. Interesting to note that after Quentin Tarantino finished Kill Bill, he pursued Pierce Brosnan to create another Bond movie. This was after Pierce's final turn as Bond in "Die Another Day." Can you imagine how amazing a Tarantino Bond movie would've been, starring peak Brosnan?
@@KidFresh71 A Terantino Bond movie? Now that would have been the interesting. I am definitely in the minority as well in that Timothy Dalton is my favourite Bond. But I, in most cases, feel like each Bond actor suited the style and era of their respective episodes, with a few exceptions. One being Moore in A View to a Kill. His time was passed at this point, and where his style worked perfectly in earlier installments, I believe Dalton or Brosnan would have been a better fit. As for Brosnan, I think he was brilliant, but suffered from the movies themselves just being bad (except Goldeneye), which is unfair to him, but is how it goes. Even as a huge fan of Dalton, I still think Brosnan could have easily pulled off those two episodes brilliantly as well. Similar for Daniel Craig. I like his tougher, Daltonesqe style, but feel like the writing of the movies let him down. I just don't think it is possible for a modern James Bond movie to ever capture that classic spy movie feel of yesteryear regardless of whom they cast, just because modern screenwriters are just too obsessed with making everything all about action.
LOL “and someone cast Christopher Walken to play this dude? The man is an accent” 😂🤣
👍🏾👍🏾
David Bowie was given the role by the Brocollis, producers but he decided to not do the 007 film 🇬🇧.
Christopher Walken played a great James bond villain:: mayday do not know why they pick her???
@@lloydkline1518 I freaking love Grace Jones as MayDay. But hey we have our own opinions.
@@jeremiahhester6408 roger moore didn"t like mayday: in his book he said that;; i didn" t like view to kill; it was roger moore & original moneypenny last jame bond movie so learn to accept it
Roger Moore stated in his memoirs that he met Tanya Roberts mother on set and she was younger than him which helped make his mind up to retire
Lol what. They should’ve just cast older women
@@strikerbowls791 or not have Bond hook up with Stacey
@@sashaking1115 Or have slightly older Staceys
Stealing information from imdb and no crediting it lol
To be fair, Tanya Roberts' mother had her when she was 16.
Flex itself isn't the innuendo, it's the whole name: Jenny Flex, to genuflect means to be down on your knees just where Bond would like a woman to be.
This one is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. Love the airship finale over the Golden Gate Bridge.
Would you be annoyed at me if I tell you that I always say "skip" (just need a ding now) when your sponsored ads start and then move the slider to the start of your video - I may start yelling "53 SECONDS OF ADS! *ding*" next :P
Also, 15 seconds of intro **ding**
Oh, irony, thou harsh mistress!
"The bubbles tickle my TCHAIKOVSKY". One of the best lines ever spoken in a Bond movie.
Even Rodger Moore openly criticised this film, saying Zorin's massacre of his henchmen made him feel sick and he was always annoyed that there was never any deeper investigation into the needles implanted into the horses to make them run faster, which he considered animal cruelty. He said something to the effect of "I always thought it was a bit much, and I'm the Bond who went to space!"
I remember seeing Tanya Roberts in Beastmaster as a kid. What a smoke show.
She was also in That 70s Show :)
@@Yukinoomoni also a Smoke show in that as well.
@@Hillthugsta Can confirm; even at 14, I had a crush.
She's gorgeous.

Funny thing about the Dolph Lundgren cameo is that he was dating Grace Jones at the time, and he was also her bodyguard. She was the reason he ended up getting into acting. They split up after he did Rocky IV
"They split up after he did Rocky IV" I guess she really didn't like that Rocky film ;)
You kids so desperate for attention lol. And stealing information from Imdb and not crediting them lol.
@@lollamo7608 First off, I'm an 80's baby. Secondly, it was in an interview he did for FHM, not some random IMDB fact I picked up. He said that Grace was getting jealous of all the press he was getting after the release of Rocky IV.

Thursday: recent action sins Movie sin counter: *chuckles I'm in danger*
Still my favorite Bond movie, everyone rags on it. But i loved it as a kid and still love it today.
Actually i agree with you it was one of my favourite Bond movies also and i personally think Roger should have stayed on to play Bond again in 1987 and then call it a day. Today's Silicon valley Tech Multi- Billionaires are so like Max Zorin in many ways they want to control and dominate the World's Technology
Fun fact: The "California Girls" played in the beginning isn't even the Beach Boys' original version, but a cover version ...
DING
I want them to sin The Spy who Loved me, just so I can see if they have the balls to sin the intro song "Nobody does it better"
Or the last lines: “Bond, what do you think you’re doing?” “Keeping the British end up, sir.” 😂😂😂
Yeah that aquatic trio of Sub crews joining forces at the end is particularly over the top sin worthy. That whole Act of the movie might break the Sin Counter again.
Stromberg is closest to Dr Evil
Excellent bond film that helicopter chase with the lotus superb! And the massive shootout at the end!
most beautiful bond girls ever, Catherine Bach and Caroline Munro
“Everything Wrong With F9”. I’m wondering if the moment with the car in space will break the sin counter again or not.
Considering what happened with that scene from Fate, that wouldn't be too far off.
If the scene from... whatever F movie... with the sub capable of 50 mph keeping up with high speed cars didn't do it... nothing will. But yeah... the car in space... yeesh.
John Cena-50 sins Family message but brother didn't count-50 more sins Han is alive for the...2nd or 3rd time?-50 more sins Flying car-um..just add 5 for now and consider more later. This would literally be my approach for just how much dumber and out of control it is than any prior. Somehow the flying car didn't bug me as much as it should've, maybe because going to space might actually entertain me better than bringing back characters who have died more than once or forgiving the shaw bros like...seriously. NO.
This may be one of my favourite Bond movies now simply because of how hilarious this cinemasins video was. The Seinfeld part had me rolling around in tears.
I have been binge watching, Goldfinger, Thunderball, diamonds are forever Cinema sins… For some reason there’s so addicting and the fact that he literally dropped another one… Jeremy you’re the real MVP 🔥 👏
Again, please keep doing more Bond films! I'm doing a Bond marathon and it seems like destiny that these are coming out along!
Which one you on? I am on LicenceTo Kill and on course to finish in chronological release order before the 1 October release date for NTTD here in South Africa
what about the moment where Zorin/Walken says "Right on schedule", but the dubbing is off?
How ironic
I like A View To A Kill, good humour from Roger. Grace and Christopher were really good as baddies.
4:07 Stunt Moore's fly is also open.
😂
11:52 That damn cat was the only real excitement I got while watching this in the theatre.
The best "I won't be needing this anymore" sin ever!!!
hahhahahahaha
Can't wait till some my classic favorites come back round again.. would love his take on the over the top battle scenes in half these old bond flicks
Is it weird that I love the way Jeremy says "blimp"? I dunno, it's just funny to me.
You mean how he says "BlimPPPP!?"? Made me chuckle, as well. :-D
Adam Savage tested the breathing from the tire underwater on Mythbusters, and he'd agree that it's BS.
That one was a foregone conclusion from the start. First, a tire wouldn't be filled with oxygen, and second, the tire valve wouldn't leak air without something to compress the valve. That said, I'm not sure why Mythbusters even wasted their time with this one, unless they were just running out of ideas.
@@LordPrometheous Tires are filled with air, wich contains ~21% oxygen
There are 2 good things about this film: Grace Jones and Christopher Walken.
And the song
Was she still dating Dolph at this point? God can you imagine the sex between them. Just mountains crumbling
What about the title song?
@its fine no
No, only 1 - Duran, Duran.
For CinemaSins, making fun of unpopular James Bond films is like shooting fish in a barrel.
Dude that Seinfeld bit was ace! I laughed for 10 minutes!
Love this movies score. Too bad CinemaSines can't play 'em.
Which really sucks because this movie does have one of the best scores
It was the highest ranked Bond theme on the Billboard charts. The only theme that hit #1.

"THE SHADOWS ARE SKIING, FATHER " made me laugh out loud. Brilliant!
Gogol’s there to show how Zorin is turning on everyone and going rogue…like the person who thought it was still a good idea to stick with Moore in the role one more time Plus the axe not gun selection shows how he’s an intelligent psychopath - would YOU fire a gun near a damaged blimp tethered to a very ricochet-capable metal structure?
Great point on the axe selection. Now correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't Pierce Brosnan supposed to feature in this film but they couldn't work it out because he was on contract for the Remington Steele series, and still unavailable in '87 and why they cast Timothy Dalton for the next two?
@@digitalfootballer9032 Basically yes. Moore wanted to be done after For Your Eyes Only. EON Productions enticed him back for Octopussy, since in 1983 they wanted to have a familiar Bond going up against the non-EON Never Say Never Again, which of course, starred Connery. When 1985 came around, Brosnan was still tied up with Remington Steele, which was cancelled shortly after, leading to Moore sticking around for this film as well. Incidentally, Brosnan was cast after Moore, but on Day 59 of a 60-day revival option, NBC decided to put together one more season of Remington Steele, keeping Brosnan out of reach for Bond yet again. At this point, Dalton, who had turned down two previous offers to play 007 due to his age (around 24 the first time), and not liking the direction of the recent Bond films, finally accepted the role for his two movies before legal troubles put the series on hiatus until 1994.
@@richardvenables619 Very interesting details which I never knew before. Personally, I preferred a dated 007 - after all, we all age - to have Timothy Dalton who always reminded me of a suburban accountant with a migraine. Only worse 007 is Daniel Duckface whom we shall happily never see again after his last sortie.
My Favorite Bond movie, theme song, villain, top hench(wo)man, cold open (including the Beach Boys needle drop), and car chase sequence. I love, love, love this movie!! ❤
The soundtrack has a couple of wonderful orchestral versions of the theme song !
I still think Alison Doody and Imogen Poots are two of the most unfortunate names ever.
" Doodie & Poots" This fall on Adult Swim
I just subbed the other day because I watched all of your 007 videos and now another one! Thank you so much! Also perfect timing!
Just a random thought, But I would love to see a Bond video game that puts more focus on gadgets, bug sweeping remaining undetected, recording, taking photos , asking questions, gaining trust, card games, dating the actual spy stuff and less focus on shooting people, blowing stuff up and car chases. ... which is also Bond stuff. but Point is I spend too much time in FPS games running and shooting and not enough time being sneaky. That being said I don't want to have to stealth the whole mission.

“Too bad you couldn’t find one that fits.” Apparently this was a dig at Tanya Roberts as she kept bitching about wanting form fitting overalls and just being hard to work with in general. So the director left it in out of spite.
😅😅😂😂😂
You would think for bond girl a form fitting outfit would be a priority. It's James Bond movie after all.
Mythbusters concurs with your assessment of the breathing from a tire scene.
Not only is the Duran Duran song one of the best things, the video is a better Bond opening than the opening in this one.

Somehow I read this incorrectly several times as "To kill a mockingbird," then was very surprised to see skiing and mentions of Bond in the first few seconds.
Well, tricky to kill any birds that aren't in one's field of vision, indeed. So you do need A View To Kill a Mockingbird! Could kinda see James Bond versus Atticus Finch. Crossover, anyone? :-D

I wish that they've chosen T. Dalton to "For Your Eyes Only" and let Moore to retire in time.
No, I disagree, I love that Moore was given a chance to do a more grounded Bond movie after Moonraker. Then for Octopussy, they had to keep him because Connery was doing that alternate spoof of a movie Never Say Never Again and they couldnt have a new Bond go up against Connery So A View To... should have been the point where Dalton took over, at least giving us a Dalton trilogy

I went out and watched this movie simply because of a throwaway line in the GameCube game "Everything or Nothing" In that the villain Nikolai Diavolo (played amazingly by Willem Dafoe) mentions that Bond "killed Max Zorin, his mentor his teacher his friend" and in this movie alone we see that Zorin himself is a sociopath who doesn't give a shit about his friends Bond : "We once played bridge together.
