  • That "throwing a straight punch" tip is the best example i've ever seen of an extremely simple concept that will transform everything. When you watch the 4 clips at the beginning, they're all throwing telegraphed haymakers. But, god damn, nothing is as fast and effective as a speedy straight forward jab. If you're relaxed and your adrenaline is kicking in I swear it can almost look like its slow motion. Be confident, don't hesitate and throw a straight right down the middle. The last time I was out and someone tried to start trouble with me I assumed my typical Muay Thai stance and the guy knew enough to recognize it and just said "fuck that" and apologized. Even an untrained eye can see when someone is confident in what they're about to do to you. The best outcome is that your demeanor alone stops the fight before it starts. 😆

  • We deliver punches from a different stance in raw combat international but aside that every point this man makes is spot on, as an ex bouncer of 18 years I can with confidence say I've been in hundreds of violent encounters and have managed to come out on top in almost all scenarios due to boxing being a staple in my self protection training, fact is if you strike properly and practice most street fights will end after a jab or cross typically, most thugs are not trained athletes accustomed to taking heavy blows, my last encounter with a violent offender ended with my left jab, I should also mention I stand at about 5ft7in and weigh approximately 165lbs, not a big man by any standard, practice your striking with a good coach and keep at it, when you need it the most it will work for you.

I asked again and he pushed me back hard. This guy was 6'3" 250 Italian, my friend stepped in and knocked him out with a punch straight to his jaw. He's 5'7" maybe 150. My friend finally came out saw me and fired him on the spot. He couldn't hear him he was out cold so we carried him to the parking lot and left him.

    • If you have been in hundreds of violent encounters it's probably because you go around starting shit with people because you know they will underestimate you, standing at 5'7". That's nothing to brag about, it makes you an asshole. I'm 43 years old, live in a low income inner city neighborhood in a major US city and I haven't been in a fight since I was in my early 20s. When you know you are equipped to handle a fight you get in more fights because you take it for granted you will win. One day you'll run into another boxer o the street without knowing it and then you stop waking around liking for trouble cuz you'll allow for the possibility that you are the one who's gonna get beat up.

      @buckemptier@buckemptier2 жыл бұрын
  • Another tip I give to my kids; always imagine the shot before you throw the punch. Run it through your head. At the same time imagine what your next shot will be, as planning one step ahead of your oponent is a great advantage. A light kick to knee joint can cause immense pain. Try and save your energy, most oponents are exhausted after 60 seconds that's when you can finish the fight.

    @Hitngan@Hitngan2 жыл бұрын
    • Lol you don’t have time to “think” in a fight. Telling your kids that is gonna have someone kicking their shit in while they worry about “ooh my next move”. gaining consistency in combat effectiveness relies completely on muscle memory. unless you get them into some defense class or have them sparring constantly then you’re just doing some old man gum flapping about things you don’t really know and actually setting them up for disaster against anyone even slightly more aggressive than them. Don’t put them in an embarrassing situation for listening to dad. When tony says “think about it” he means to think about it before it happens and stay visualizing and practicing. Not think during like your James Bond doing a slow motion karate equation.

Is it in open space like lets say Bball court or parking lot? If its in close range, hands down it will come down to striking like elbows, headbutt, eye gauge, pushing/wrestling... this is where grapple like Judo will def take control. If its in open space, all day box that fools head off with jabs, straights, hooks and even kicks if the person knows how to kick properly. I actually learned this from hesitating on an attack one time. I was going after him with a certain rhythm when I stopped (due to hesitating in my step/footwork) but my opponent moved just like I was going to do what I hadn't.

  • Hello from Canada! I just discovered your channel and loved this video and subscribed. Great information for people! Very simple, but very necessary. I remember my first big fight in high school. I made a huge mistake and it almost cost me dearly. I gave the guy an uppercut just like the straight jab you showed us. I was going for the chin, but knocked out his 4 too teeth. He had to spit a couple out, then his friends start picking up his teeth. I thought it was over. But the guy just smiled at me, then came at me. All of a sudden my muscles locked up and I stopped breathing basically. He got me back pretty good. It was the best lesson that I don't think I could have gott unless really being in a scary fight first. I learned to just relax and try to enjoy it after that. I became very confident in my speed, athleticism, and ability. Always knowing in the back of my head that anyone can be stronger, faster and more abilities than me. WWG1WGA

  • I've only been learning from your videos for about a week. 30 to 60 minutes at the end of the day when I get off work but I've been trying to take it very seriously and commit to a lot of repetition once I see how you recommend it be done. Whether it be footwork or hand speed etc. Mainly been trying to work on my breathing and my footwork. All I can say is within 7 days I don't have anyone to judge me or to ensure that I am improving. But, I would bet anything that I have improved drastically ever since implementing your recommendations. My head movement footwork breathing, and punching have all gotten so much better. For anyone interested in improving their skill set or just getting into it, I can vouch for these videos and this channel. Not to mention the guests. After watching the video of Logan Paul's coach breaking down some very unique tactical strategies I have had my eyes blowing wide open. Thank you so much I absolutely recommend this channel.!!

    • also you can practice your uppercuts with medium weighed barbell where you slightly squat down in a neutral stance and then use your hip drive as you explosively get up and then do a straight uppercut motion with the barbell, the movement has to be explosive and 1 motion for it to work, atleast it helped me who is on meds that make my arms weaker
