  • 1. Obstacle course 2. Puppy jungle gym 3. Tap into senses: sniff box or towel, “find it”, release word game (say a bunch of words before the release cue word, especially words that rhyme!) 4. Sleep 5. DIY enrichment 6. Training w/ positive reinforcement

  • These activities are so much. I've started using them at home in the living room, moved them towards to the backyard, now when we go to the park I use them too. it makes it so much fun and dynamic. The have learned when I pick up the back pack and place water and snacks in it we are going to the park for some fun. When we get home, they drink some water, head to the kennel and fall asleep. These activities have made going to the park more stimulating and rewarding for them.

    • A lot of people will put in leaves, pine cones, grass from another neighborhood or even used to go food bags. Since the puppy can't get to the items to consume it, you can put anything in there that is new and different.

  • I don’t know if this is a thing in other states, but here in Alaska when the dogs can’t be walked due to the cold, Lowe’s, Home Depot, and a few other stores let people walk their dogs inside. It’s a great place for socializing and new smells!

    • Those are great options! Arizona has a similar (but opposite!) problem and some malls have opened up for dog walking.

  • Gus turned 4 months old today and still sleeps a lot! I was getting worried for a bit but I think I just need to be patient and remember he’s still so young. And I think he is a tad behind “average”. But this mini course has been so helpful! Love it!

    • Oh yes, at 4 months old Gus still needs a lot of sleep! It's great that you have the course. That will be so helpful as Gus grows and changes. You can always consult the sample schedules for some new ideas.

  • My Primo is just about to turn 4 months old and he still will sleep even though he doesn’t act tired. Like a toddler sometimes have to enforce nap time. Tonight he sat around waiting for me to do something. I was running out of ideas how to entertain him. Just in time! Plus my boyfriend is currently out of town so he might have been waiting on him to show up. Earlier, he was doing excessive zoomies, digging, and barking at me when I leave him alone (not all the time). I thought though that dogs as well as puppies know how to play alone (but in a fenced off area of the house). Guess he was bored.

    • You'll get some good tips in that video! And you're definitely right that you still have to enforce nap time.
